Anyone else out there?! Very excited but super early days so haven’t got anyone else to share this news with!

@Mishmased week 8 😱 omg. My first baby was almost 5 years ago so I remember the pelvic pain being bad. I also had a support belt. I remember being in pain when moving, sitting, standing, walking and worst was climbing stairs. Im only 7 weeks and the other morning i had a few twinges in my groin area as if i had slept doing the splits all night. Luckily nothing again since. I am dreading it if it returns.

At 8 weeks for u... im shocked 😮. Hope the physio/osteopath works or helps 🤞🏽 xx

Mishmased · 07/11/2020 23:21

@Bella678 my last pregnancy was 5 years ago as well haha. I had it around 30 weeks not bad but I saw an osteopath which helped. Forgot about it after baby was born.

With this pregnancy, I have been to epu and A&E twice and they didn't know what was wrong. I was in so much pain and waking around 2:30 to go to the bathroom but unable to sleep again. One of those nights it occurred to me this could be it, just over a week ago.
I worked with a girl that got signed off at 12 weeks until mat leave as she was in a wheelchair. So for now it is manageable, I wear the belt about 2 hrs a day and don't overexert myself. This is my third baby and I never had it during my first. Turning out to be an interesting pregnancy 😁

Garman · 08/11/2020 07:08

Oh @Mishmased that sounds so tough, you poor thing!

Bella678 · 08/11/2020 10:29

@Mishmased i love how u sound positive "interesting pregnancy" 🤣 but seriously impressed with u taking it slow. I was signed off last time from 14 weeks. I really hope i dont get it. I now have Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue so this pregnancy wasnt planned. However we had been trying years and even with the first it took 7 years of trying. So I figured i was only destined to have the 1.

I have had to come off all my pain drugs and the fatigue has tripled but god pls dont give me pelvic pain on top cos I couldn't cope.

BurningBenches · 08/11/2020 12:01

I had pgp in my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. My 2nd I was referred to group physio (which finally happened ay about 8m and was rubbish)and my 3rd was substantially worse so I had 1-1 physio. She said she thought I was hypermobile and also one leg was longer than the other (isn't everyone's?) Anyway a great belt and a tubigrip really helped. They said that the small age gap wouldn't have helped

Oddly with DS last year I had minimal discomfort. I was expecting it to start but it just never did. I wondered whether the fact my body has massively seized up with age helped. I was hugely flexible until my mid 30s but that dropped off a cliff.

I did put a pillow between my legs from early on for sleeping and my job required a lot of squatting down and being on my feet all day. I also wore the tubigrip again.

I'll be interested to see what happens this time.

Booking in appointments! I've got mine with the MW on Friday when ill be 9+6. Anyone else?

I feel like I left it pretty late (My scan is booked for 30th already so no rush for that)

Garman · 08/11/2020 12:56

I haven't booked in with my hospital yet @BurningBenches, booking in appointment will be around 12-14 weeks here usually, so December. Zoom call for history and then appointment for bloods etc, can't believe there's now a Zoom call in maternity appointments, so crazy!

BurningBenches · 08/11/2020 13:08

Mine is face to face with the community MW at the GP surgery. I did wonder if it would be Zoom based but apparently not. Here they say book in 8-10wks but as the GP had already requested my scan I've left til nearly 10. I expect I'll be sent to see the consultant at the hospital for being old and fat again

Time is going very quickly this time too. Nearly 1/4 done.

Garman · 08/11/2020 13:38

I did meet with a head midwife last week but that's just me because I've requested extra care this time and am delighted to actually be receiving it, I still can't believe it. Only looked at scan photos from mid last week today, can you tell I'm in denial 😂

BurningBenches · 08/11/2020 15:16

Ha me too. Despite doing this multiple times I'm in denial and detached.. told no one, don't talk about it to DH at all except to mention appointments.

I don't know whether it's the circumstances, covid, it being a bit of a surprise after trying so long for DS, exhaustion because its number 5 and DS is still a baby, doubts about my age and therefore not letting myself get attached. But with DS I excitedly/anxiously had an 8wk private reassurance scan and this time I haven't. I'm doing the right things, food and supplement wise, I just can't imagine a baby at the end. I'm sorry I don't mean that negatively, I don't not want it, it just seems surreal.

Garman · 08/11/2020 16:02

Exact same here. I'm taking folic acid, going to the appointments, but not really believing it or planning ahead. I don't tell people for quite a long time anyway but I keep swinging between telling a friend and not wanting to talk about it at all so will keep it quiet for a good few weeks yet! DH wants to tell people at Christmas but I said maybe around April some time 😂 Realistically I'll tell friends and family in December and don't care when he tells his family because we don't see them anyway.

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 16:16

@Garman it is what it is 😁

@Bella678 that's a lovely surprise. I really hope you don't get pelvic pain on top of everything else as it sounds like you're in enough pain already. Can you take OTC meds at all?

I can only be positive. There was no logical need to have another child even though I always wanted three kids. My two were born when I was 26 and 29, I'm 34 now. DH gently suggested we quit while we're ahead when I brought up a third but he agreed in the end. Was supposed to have a baby in 2018 didn't due to house move, 2019 didn't due to job move and 2020 after deciding to go ahead in March covid became a real thing so we decided to wait and see how it pans out. Which brings us to the present.

I've heard people say their third pregnancies was tiring but I never imagined. My previous two were straightforward (excluding delivery) 41 week gestation, no morning sickness, nausea, never had early scans etc.
This time I have nausea all day although getting better, pains (now I know it is pelvic pain) and pure exhaustion. I'm constantly falling asleep on my days off and I haven't told work yet, so I power on during my working days and crash when I'm off😂

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 16:26

@BurningBenches I have a support belt now, sleep with a cushion between my legs and been seeing an osteopath privately for the past two weeks now until I get an appointment for physio in hospital. May sound like overkill but I have seen a girl in wheelchair at 14 weeks from pelvic pain. I moved department in June and we just started a new team, it is mental busy so I don't want to be taking time off hence the preparation 😂

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 16:30

I have my 12 week scan on the 17th and meeting the obstetric team on the 25th of this month.

Juniper24 · 08/11/2020 17:15

Another June baby to add to the mix! Expecting my first after an ectopic pregnancy which resulted in the tube removal so very excited and hopeful but also anxious ALL THE TIME. Really glad to hear lots of your symptoms have been intermittent because that was freaking me out! Had a scan at 5 weeks to check it was in the right place and all looked good but still waiting for my midwife and 12 week scan appointments to come through, is it normal not to have heard after a gp referral three weeks ago?

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 20:16

@Juniper24 many congratulations. Hope it all goes well.xx
I got my appointment made by the hospital at my 6 week check, so by the time my gp was sending referrals I told him I had my appt date. It's all different everywhere due to Covid.

Fuzzbuzz86 · 08/11/2020 20:50

@Raebo and @Juniper24 Congrats 😊

I'm 10+3 today and have had light bleeding since this morning, my EPAU is closed on Sundays, I'm going to ring tomorrow as my 12 week scan isn't until 24th Nov. Anyone had anything similar? I know it can be common in early pregnancy.

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 21:51

@Fuzzbuzz86 sorry to hear you're having a bleed. I did have on and off bleeding from 4 weeks and only settled about 9 weeks. At 6 weeks they found a hematoma and said it would bleed out or be reabsorbed. Looks like it did reabsorbed as they couldn't find it at 9 weeks. I'm 10+5 today so close enough to you. You say light as in enough for a liner or just when you wipe? Fingers crossed it is nothing, try not to steer too much and if you're doing any heavy lifting try to reduce it.x

Fuzzbuzz86 · 08/11/2020 22:47

@Mishmased thanks, it's only been when I wipe and is bright pink. It's hard to rest as DD is 6 1/2 months, so constantly having to hold her, lift the pram, car seat etc....

Will see how it is tomorrow, I can't stress about it now as I know there is very little the epu can do this early on anyway. X

Mishmased · 08/11/2020 23:13

@Fuzzbuzz86 take it easy as long as there's no pain. Not easy with a 6 month old I know. Rest tonight and hopefully you'll be seen in the morning.x

BurningBenches · 09/11/2020 14:00

How are you doing @Fuzzbuzz86

Pinky blood tinged CM for me today. I'm 41. I've not had bleeding or spotting in my successful pregnancies before (obv that's not so say people don't, just that I've had 4 children and none) I've had 2 5wk miscarriages. I'm also feeling crampy but I wonder if that's psychosomatic. We had sex yesterday am so could be that.

I guess if it gets worse I'll call the EPU tomorrow morning. But equally I kind of want to stick my head in the sand and hope it stops. But I can't cos now I'm knicker checking. I feel a lot worse about this than I thought I would. So much for detaching myself.

Fuzzbuzz86 · 09/11/2020 17:37

@BurningBenches @Mishmased just back from EPU. Unfortunately they couldn't find a heartbeat or an embryo, the sac is only measuring 7 weeks when it should be 10+4. That with the bleeding looks like I am miscarrying 😔. I have another scan next week to confirm. X

Garman · 09/11/2020 18:14

So sorry to hear that @Fuzzbuzz86 ❤️

BurningBenches · 09/11/2020 18:25

Oh @Fuzzbuzz86 I'm so so sorry to hear this Flowers

Bella678 · 09/11/2020 18:29

@Fuzzbuzz86 so so sorry 😢🙏🏽
