@AndddddHerewegoagain so exciting ! Good luck !!! xxx

36+6 today and I just realised it's possible for baby to pop as early as next week (wishful thinking maybe) 🙈😳😆 excited and nervous at the same time

LillianFullStop · 23/05/2020 15:06

Good luck @Andddddherewegoagain! Hope things move along quickly and smoothly and you meet your DD soon!

BirdGarden · 23/05/2020 15:12

@AndddddHerewegoagain very good luck for today, thinking of you

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth I won't share my induction as it's a horror story I'm afraid; some of it is now clearly due to mismanagement though so my views are tainted. For me personally I will not accept one this time. Have a look at the AIMS charity website on induction for a bit more information than the NHS will give you is my only advice. Though again I caveat this that I hardly received any information at all, I suppose it's very routine to those in the profession.

Thank you to the other second (and third!) timers who also have disengaged babies! Mine definitely does go down sometimes but just won't stay there for long. I'm 38 weeks today and have still been able to hit the (home) gym today rowing, lifting weights, full press ups, cardio - my body absolutely doesn't feel like it's going to give birth any time soon! Been bouncing on ball all day (working from home so replaced chair with ball!) and building up raspberry leaf since 34 weeks, scoffing medjool and deglet nour dates, started Clary sage at 37; just very crampy mornings and evenings. I think I'm in for another long month...

I've only booked three weeks from my due date off work though, and you have to take two weeks off post birth, so a birth any later than 41 weeks will leave me with a proper administrative headache! Not to mention I won't be "allowed" in the midwife unit and will have to travel over an hour to the next county to the nearest proper antenatal ward to give birth. Urrrgghhh...

Pegase · 23/05/2020 16:54

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth my induction (synto) was a disaster as well I'm afraid. Pessary didn't work so ended up on the drip with insanity levels of pain. Hence why I'm keen on epidurals Grin

Magpiefeather · 23/05/2020 17:03

Another second timer here whose baby keeps popping in and out. When I go on a brisk walk he always gets his head right down there and I’m walking like John Wayne, feeling mega pressure on my cervix but he always pops back out again. Glad to hear it’s normal! He is head down but with his bum on my left hand side - I think it’s called ROA? Midwife said it’s a great position, I’ve been bouncing on my ball but not going any other specific exercises.

Anyone else had the return of proper full on morning sickness?? It’s like first trimester all over again for me, I’ve been sick twice today and felt nauseous all day. Been sick at least 5 times in the last week. Hoping this means my hormones are doing something clever / productive to get ready for birth??!!

I’ve the same due date as you both @Zoey92 and @Magpie21, also had midwife yesterday at 35+5 and am relieved all is still looking good, I have chosen midwife led unit at hospital so fingers crossed all stays low risk and I can use that.

Have been having all sorts of anxiety dreams too! Not my fave but obviously my mind’s way of processing deep seated worries. Really trying to let go of fear this time but it’s hard!!!

BirdGarden · 23/05/2020 17:24

@Pegase - I know exactly what you mean, and epidurals don't seem to work on me (hypermobile)

@magpiefeather - my sickness has often recurred, generally every other day I'm sick on average. You feel cheated don't you?! Huge respect to my friend who had HG from 4 weeks to birth!

Magpie21 · 23/05/2020 17:51

@Magpiefeather No sickness for me (touch wood), so hopefully that is a sign your hormones are doing something productive as you say!! Good that your appointment showed all is looking well.

I'm washing all the baby's clothes this weekend. It makes it so real looking at all the clothes. I'm a FTM but my sister has 2 so I have been asking her what to pack. I feel so clueless! BlushSmile

I was sooo tired this afternoon had to just have a long nap (lucky me that I can do that, I know that is a luxury for many of you with kiddies!). 1 more week of work to go and then I can really switch off. Handing over a job that I have done for over 5 years is quite stressful at times! It will all work out though I'm sure.

I took delivery of a scrapbook that I am going to start putting together for the baby when I'm on Mat leave. Can't wait to do that. Il put the scans pictures in there etc.

Cornishbumpkin · 23/05/2020 18:58

Keep having the occasional bit of nausea but it's mostly linked with the horrendous heartburn 😩

I've been having episodes today where bump goes rock hard for about ten mins. No pain or discomfort and seems to be eased by laying on my side. Anyone had anything similar? FTM so a bit clueless about what I should and shouldn't worry about!

36+5

newbyxx · 23/05/2020 20:48

@Cornishbumpkin mine does the same and has
Increased in intensity the further I've got, sounds like Braxton hicks x

HaichMal · 23/05/2020 20:55

@Cornishbumpkin my bump goes hard a lot too, even when not experiencing any sort of Braxton hicks. I think a lot of it is to do with her position as well though.

@magpiefeather no sickness yet but I've had increased nausea and heartburn the last few days. I've had it return in the past though, in both my previous 2 pregnancies where I've had a lot more nausea and some increased sickness as well. I've also heard that your tummy etc can become unsettled in the run-up to labour. Just make sure you're drinking enough.

Those of you with swollen feet, how bad does it get? Mine have got really bad this evening and gone into my ankles and maybe even my calves. It's very uncomfortable to walk because I can barely move my toes or get my ankles to bend or move. They feel very tight as well. I've never had this before in any of my pregnancies so don't really know what to expect or what's acceptable/ normal and what is something to worry about

Busylizzie85 · 23/05/2020 20:57

@HaichMal the sweeping is the same as mine, I have it all in my legs and especially ankles and feet! I am currently in triage as someone commented on the swelling which set my worry head off so getting blood pressure etc checked out.

Busylizzie85 · 23/05/2020 20:58

Swelling! (Predictive text is a nightmare)

HaichMal · 23/05/2020 21:03

@Busylizzie85 I was in for reduced movements on Thursday and my blood pressure was fine but I starting to worry a bit because they don't seem to be getting any better even with elevating them, or wiggling them, and they've definitely been getting slightly worse every day this week

Busylizzie85 · 23/05/2020 21:45

@HaichMal all is ok basically said some women do just suffer with it and it can be all the way to under your bump! They said that if I was having headaches, sickness or blurred vision along with a swollen face or upper body then that is much more of a worry!
She said not to worry but if I start to feel unwell at all to call again, I explained how it has progressively got worse and she could tell it was very uncomfortable.
Hope that puts your mind at ease slightly x

Cornishbumpkin · 23/05/2020 22:05

Thanks @newbyxx and @HaichMal reassuring to know it's not just me. I've never experienced Braxton hicks so don't know what they feel like

HaichMal · 23/05/2020 22:11

@Cornishbumpkin I seem to have different ones: my bump just going hard, a strong tightening sensation across my bump, a full on cramp type sensation across my bump and then the really strong ones which are bump and back. I've also had ones where it's like there's lots of pressure pushing down, and I don't know if that's a BH or baby moving.

@Busylizzie85 that is helpful and reassuring, thank you. Unfortunately, I've been suffering with pregnancy vertigo and headaches the whole way through, so dizzy spells and headaches are my usual but I will keep an eye on if they get worse, i feel unwell and for any swelling in my upper body.

umabb · 24/05/2020 08:51

Woke up panicking as hadn't felt him for the whole night and usually he's awake earlier than me. Tapping the belly having cold water and play loud video didn't work for a while until at last he started kicking and stretching. I've beeb restless since the reduced fluid drama... Not a nice morning to start your full term , love !
37+0 today !

Cornishbumpkin · 24/05/2020 09:31

@HaichMal it's so hard to tell sometime whether it's just them moving or whether it's BH.

How are you getting on @AndddddHerewegoagain ? hope everything went well and your already holding your little one

LillianFullStop · 24/05/2020 11:12

I've had lots of tightenings too now at 38+2... baby feels like he's dropped right into my pelvis since last night. Lightning crotch even when sitting down (usually only when I'm standing up/walking). Lots of pelvic pressure and heaviness so been trying to do lots of kegals. Had to do them lying down as quite hard to do standing up with all the pressure!

Hips are the worst they've been and the cramping and back pain was so bad too last night. Was convinced I was in early labour but the cramping seems to have eased this morning.

umabb · 24/05/2020 13:18

Followed this www.viewpure.com/PnG4pW9z4Cc?start=0&end=0 and tried to harvest colostrum. Didn't work the first attempt and the husband tried and it worked - he did a bit harder to squeeze it out ! It shocked me there's actually things coming out my boobs...

APD1981 · 24/05/2020 13:34

@umabb I filled my first syringe yesterday. I'd followed a guide earlier in the week and got some so each day I've just had a little go and the more I've done it the more I've got and the easier it was. I was quite pleased with myself when I managed a whole syringe pretty quickly yesterday.

In other news, i paid for a private strep B test and got the news it was negative today. One less thing to worry about!

umabb · 24/05/2020 13:49

@APD1981 that's amazing ! Do you do it once a day ? Good news on the test result too! x

MissisBee · 24/05/2020 13:57

I managed to get 1ml per boob of colostrum yesterday. It's soo satisfying. I'm just doing every other day at the minute, but once I'm 37 weeks I'll try every day.

newbyxx · 24/05/2020 14:18

Midwife unable to reach my cerix but was so
Shocked at how low baby's head was, said she could feel it with her fingers! Abit gutted but I expected it as only 38+1 x

UKtoSK · 24/05/2020 14:48

Had an unplanned scan yesterday due to some brown discharge that I was worried was bleeding. Combined with baby being quiet (as she tends to be in the mornings) it had me worried. Baby was completely fine and doctor said whatever the discharge was was nothing to worry about. Still breech (didn’t need scan to confirm that with her head in my ribs every time I lie down) so if she doesn’t turn a section will be scheduled for 38 or 39 weeks depending on baby’s weight. Currently 35+1 so despite originally being really upset at the idea of a c-section and missing out on my planned natural birth I am excited at the prospect of getting baby earlier than expected!

@AndddddHerewegoagain hope everything has been going well for you this weekend!
