Aww yey @woollycat so Pleased you managed to get some 👍🏻 Hopefully the more you do it the easier it’ll become. But I’ve done it some days but not others.

Ahhh @Caspianberg that makes me feel better as I’m 39+6 with zero symptoms!

@Clairesoph how exciting Smile I keep thinking if I hadn’t had her turned I would have her here by now isn’t that terrible 😂 so impatient haha

Caspianberg · 19/05/2020 11:11

@woollycat @Bumpingalong84 - Nope, no dropping of bump either. I thought I would be pregnant until christmas at the complete lack of any changes!

I took raspberry leaf tablets from 36 weeks, and ate 6 dates a day which are probably all voodoo, but supposed to shorten labour. No idea if they helped, but they recorded labour from 8am-4pm so 8hrs which was fairly quick for 1st baby I think, second stage of actual pushing was only about 20 mins.

Naughtysausage · 19/05/2020 13:05

@CharlieB93 that sounds exhausting. What is it like? Are you able to eat / sleep?

MarshmallowsOnToast · 19/05/2020 13:24

Hope everyone is doing ok.

I've just been admitted to the hospital induction ward.

Had the pessary to start things dilating and have to now wait 24hrs until my waters are manually broken (if doesn't happen on its own in the night).

My OH was allowed to stay for the pessary and monitoring as it was done in a room on the labour suite. He's obviously had to leave now I'm on the ward & will come back for the water breaking (lucky him lol).

Gonna be a long day/night!

CharlieB93 · 19/05/2020 13:25

@Naughtysausage it’s not fun - I’ve not slept since Sunday but have been eating like I’m about to hibernate!
I was having contractions every 7 minutes for about ten hours now they have stopped completely 🤦‍♀️

Naughtysausage · 19/05/2020 14:25

@CharlieB93 oh god. I hope you're getting a big nap in now.
Don't worry about them stopping. It might just be so your body can rest. I remember mine slowing down the first time so I could have a nap!

CharlieB93 · 19/05/2020 14:30

@Naughtysausage unfortunately not - they’re back with vengeance! Did this happen with your first?? How long did it last for? ☹️☹️

Moongirl10 · 19/05/2020 15:33

Thank you for the reassurance @Caspianberg.

No symptoms here. I honestly think I’ll be the last one left on this thread!

woollycat · 19/05/2020 15:47

@Moongirl10 nope it's gonna be me 😂😂😂

Naughtysausage · 19/05/2020 16:19

@CharlieB93 probably just an hour or so really. Have you been in to be checked? It's quite exciting! Every contraction is doing something!

SairaBear · 19/05/2020 16:31

Hi all,

Long term occasional reader/stalker saying hi finally (had a rubbish time with pregnancy and never quite believed I’d make it this far!).

@CharlieB93 I’m in the exact same boat as you. Can’t get past the 7 minutes mark and I am so tired! Spoke to the midwife and she has me with one leg on the stairs doing lunges through them, it’s made such a difference to the pain, though I def don’t have the leg muscles to do another day or more of this... But maybe worth a try if you’re still suffering?!

Congrats to all who already have their lovely babies! Your posts have cheered me right up this afternoon and I hope you all heal and bond well.

@november90: so pleased to see a photo of your wee boy in particular, as I’ve thought of you often. Hope that whenever life is tough in future you can look back at what you’ve achieved in the last few months, be extremely proud of your strength and know you can do anything!

CharlieB93 · 19/05/2020 16:45

@sairabear oh thanks for the tip! I’ll give it a try! How long have you been stuck at 7 for? It’s so frustrating isn’t it!
I’m hoping for a quick second stage after all this faffing 😂

woollycat · 19/05/2020 17:14

@MarshmallowsOnToast how are you getting on with the induction? Thinking of you, hope it's all going well.

SairaBear · 19/05/2020 17:33

@CharlieB93 haha, yup, we deserve it easy after this! I made it to 7 mins sometime yesterday morning, then they slowed, then back and so on. A friend kindly dropped in loads of sugary snacks as my biscuit stash has taken quite the battering! Hope yours start moving soon - it really can’t go on forever...

CharlieB93 · 19/05/2020 17:53

@sairabear we really do 😂 oh lovely! I’ve eaten about 20 choc digestive biscuits today and I’m not even ashamed 😀 hope yours start moving again too! I’m currently at 8-9 minutes ☹️

MarshmallowsOnToast · 19/05/2020 18:01

@woollycat

Thank you for asking. 🙂

I'm sat on the ward with not much happening yet at all. My lady area feeling a bit sore (not sure if that's the hormones in the pessary) but no contractions or anything so not much to tell at the mo. x

Kgreen87 · 19/05/2020 19:59

@MarshmallowsOnToast I'm booked for Friday for induction and absolutely terrified of being on my own , wishing you lots of luck with the process and you will have your little bundle soon!
I think if I didnt have my midwife appt today I would have gone in for reduced movement as baby is only wiggling down really low now and it's super difficult to keep track when your belly is nearly by your knees 😅
@CharlieB93 @SairaBear you need to get onto the McVities flavoured digestives....its next level stuff

november90 · 19/05/2020 21:15

@SairaBear oh bless you that's so kind of you to say! I think you're definitely your strongest when you're at your weakest and I can see that I've come so far as a person this year :) whatever the future throws at me, all of this happened for a reason!

@MarshmallowsOnToast inner everything will happen all at once! Your little one is nearly here ❤️

Naughtysausage · 19/05/2020 23:09

@CharlieB93 and @SairaBear how are you getting on?

CharlieB93 · 20/05/2020 01:21

@Naughtysausage still contracting every 6ish minutes, the pains ramped up a bit in the last 2 hours. Still no sleep I’m exhausted 😩

helpasisterout · 20/05/2020 05:54

How is everyone feeling that is still to have their baby?

My due date is today with very little signs except for some late night BH and maybe slightly reduced pressure of baby moving down (I think that's what it is anyway).

I've woken today in such a foul mood - I am imagining situations which have not even happened which will piss me off making it worse, I don't feel excited like I should and don't want to see anyone (I won't except for OH). I keep thinking although this is exactly what we wanted how life will never be the same again for us.. someone please tell me this will disappear when baby arrives?!

Suspect this is because I'm not able to actually do anything stimulating except for stay at home and take exercise due to COVID!

helpasisterout · 20/05/2020 05:55

*increased pressure 🙄

Naughtysausage · 20/05/2020 07:10

@CharlieB93 sounds like time to go in and make a fuss and demand help? You have all my sympathy.

@helpasisterout I had a big whinge last night at DH about how none of this is how it's supposed to be. I'm due tomorrow. I also know that some people have a huge hormone swing and a bad mood before everything starts! I remember being so cross last time on the day my labour kicked off because visitors turned up when I didn't want them. When they left my BH turned into full contractions.

CharlieB93 · 20/05/2020 07:41

@Naughtysausage I rang the hospital at 5am blubbering like a child, the midwife who answered was not sympathetic in the slightest and just pretty much told me to get on with it 😂

Naughtysausage · 20/05/2020 08:26

Can you try again - new shift at 7am. It's not supposed to be torture. Thanks
