thanks welshmum
your lovely words of support have made me all weepy (gives you an idea of how pathetic I'm feeling!)
really appreciate it

GeorgesMummy · 26/10/2004 15:39

MissTuesday, I know exactly how you are feeling as I am feeling the same. I have a DS 13 months old and am 6 weeks pregnant at the moment. Although we really wanted another baby,I am just so scared that I won't love it as much as I love my DS as he is my world and I love him so much. I was really tearful the other day telling DH that I wasn't sure we were doing the right thing having another baby as we wouldn't be giving DS the attention he needs and then the next day I felt so so guilty for what I said. I didn't expect to feel like this. I'm just putting it down to my raging hormones at the moment. I hope they settle down soon.

Uwila · 26/10/2004 16:33

Yes, first trimester is crap isn't it. Here I sit at work pretending to my job. When really I just have a bloody migraine (although mild as far as migraines go) and I just want to go to bed...

Funy though, life around me doesn't seem to stop for my misery...

MissTuesday · 26/10/2004 16:42

I agree completely Uwila, I just can't figure why the world doesn't stop so that I can stay in bed! I sit at my computer and read the same emails over and over rather than actually action anything!
Welshmum I noticed on another thread re. morning sickness that you knew a good person for acupunture. I'm so desperate to find something that works. Where was she based?
xx

MrsWednesday · 26/10/2004 16:43

Wise words indeed Welshmum.

Sorry everyone is feeling so rubbish but here's a thought to cheer us all up. On TTC12 they are talking about starting a Due in July thread - that means we're one month down the line, and no longer the newest pregnant people in town.

It won't be too much longer before the hormonal fog lifts and we can start to enjoy life a bit more rather than just struggling on each day.

MissTuesday · 26/10/2004 16:44

ps thanks Georgesmummy, its nice to know someone else is having the same feelings I am. Makes me feel somehow that its all just a normal part of it all.
xx

teabelly · 26/10/2004 16:45

...nor for the nausea either. And having pigged out at lunch time my tummy's grown to twice the size, and I've had to resort to undoing my button and zip...however I'm now wondering how to go to the loo (which I desperately need) without my skirt ending up round my ankles, ha ha !

teabelly · 26/10/2004 16:47

ooh was carrying on from Uwila's comment...gosh some of you are so quick at typing

Tessiebear · 26/10/2004 16:56

Awww thanks for all you kind words everyone - i think my hormones are just making me feel a bit overwhelmed tbh.
Cobweb - thanks - i know what you mean - my DS's are really good boys too but have sooo much energy!
MissTuesday & Georges mummy - i felt just like you 2nd time round - wondering whether i would feel the same about DS2 as i did about DS1. When he arrived there was no question that i loved them equally but it takes a bit of time and you need a bit of living and experiences under you belt to feel you are as close to them - because of course you have already shared so much with your first.
Welshmum - wise thoughts indeed - and i also think you are right about taking each day at a time - it is the best way to get through it!
Teabelly - i know that the rest of my family will just fall in with the whole idea in the end - it may just take some getting used to!
Anyway - have had an upset stomach accompanied with stomach cramps for the last 24 hours - feeling like i might have eaten something dodgy! - apart from that still feel fine! THe odd bit of sickness as things not tasting right but thats about it. Trying to be in a more positive frame of mind today - a case of having to be with my lively DS's to contend with!

welshmum · 26/10/2004 18:02

The midwife acupuncturist I 've used does clinics in North and East London - will happily email her numbers to you if it's the right area for you

katzguk · 26/10/2004 18:12

evening all, well left work early because was feeling rotten, and my preggiepops had arrived, sucked one on arrival home nasusea gone!!! then tea wasn't quite ready and had nasuea again had second preggiepop (mints ones i should add) and now only a small amount of dinner has bounced this evening, so hopefully the travel bands and preggiepops will keep the nasty nasusea at bay!!

i got my preggiepops from mtoherbliss this p and p is the lowest i could find on the web.

Tessiebear · 26/10/2004 18:40

have you got a link to the site you got the preggiepops Katz - i might get some in anticipation! I got some multivitamins with Ginger in today that are supposed to help with m/s - i am getting myself so organized - prehaps i wont get it - LOL!!!

Tessiebear · 26/10/2004 18:43

Oh - dont worry Katz - have just googled and found the site - what flavours did you get?

DelGirl · 26/10/2004 18:49

just poppin in, there was a pg thread, maybe even the early April one where someone tried all these remedies incl preggiepops and said they were useless and to save your money. however they may work for someone else, just thought you'd like to know

Tessiebear · 26/10/2004 19:03

Thanks Delgirl - they do seem a tad expensive, but i may try one pack anyway!

megi · 27/10/2004 09:05

Hi all!

It has been a while since I posted on here - but I started the thread so I feel I need to keep you all up to date on whats happening!

I have just come back from a weekend in New York - obviously booked yonks ago! I went with a friend who knows my situation and so was sympathestic! I was probably not in the best condition for shopping, shopping and more shopping but I had a really good go! - Got some lovely xmas presents for DD!

I have been feeling quite nauseous but haven't actually thrown up. Have not gone off tea - and don't appear to have a heightened sense of smell which happened last time I was pregnant - so have been worrying about a lack of sympoms. - Also boobs are not painful at all. - Sort of thinking about paying for an early viability scan - but have no idea about how to go about this - I am a teacher and am on half term at the mo - so I don't know if anything could be arranged that quickly. Does anyone know how to go about this in Surey / London?

katzguk · 27/10/2004 09:09

i have to say the pops are great but then maybe mint lolly pops would do the same thing!!

tessie - will do a link later have info at home and at work at moment.

teabelly · 27/10/2004 09:50

Morning all hope everyone is well (as well as poss anyway)

Megi - New York fab, I'm so I've always wanted to go...one day, maybe...

Got a non preggie question...have found out we have an uninvited mouse sharing our house this week, eek! Have tried the humane traps but the cheeky blighter knicked the chocolate (a friends suggestion) and didn't set the trap off! DH doesn't want to use a conventional trap (doesn't bother me, he he) - has anyone got any suggestions of how to catch it?? Don't really want to use poison though coz of ds...ta

katzguk · 27/10/2004 09:58

no idea on the mouse front but saw this in the mirror today

mousetrap

muddaofsuburbia · 27/10/2004 10:00

spooky Teabelly - we've just acquired some mice too! We've gone the poison route. tHe traps are in the back of our kitchen unit cupboards with the child locks on. Dh got them from b&Q I think.

teabelly · 27/10/2004 10:07

Katzguk - thanks. Sounds alomst like an april fool - have this image of my cheeky little blighter doing the backstroke after eating the cheese - however sounds worth trying if only for the novelty factor

MrsWednesday · 27/10/2004 10:08

Sorry, no idea about the mice, other than to suggest that you get a cat. Although they have a nasty habit of bringing in mice and eating them on the kitchen floor (as mine did on Monday).

Megi, I managed to sort out an early viability scan quite quickly, but I'm in Leeds so have no idea about London. I think if it's done privately you should be able to fit it in during half term. Good luck.

Well, I had my scan this morning and the kidney bean blob has a heartbeat!!!! It's measuring exactly right for my dates and is in the right place . So it's a good start!

sweetheart · 27/10/2004 10:09

Hello, is it ok if I join in?

I've come over from the ttc thread and I'm a bit nervous. My dh and I have been ttc for 9 months and I got a BFP yesterday on a digital test. I'm not sure if I should be here or on the July thread.

The 1st day of my last period was 23rd September, so I think that makes me due on 30th June and 4 weeks 6 days preg.

This will be No 2 for us. We have a dd who is 4 years old.

I haven't got any symptoms yet really apart from painful boobs.

katzguk · 27/10/2004 10:10

hi sweetheart and welcome!!

teabelly · 27/10/2004 10:13

Mudda - they always seem to go for the kitchen cupboards don't they. Let me know if you catch yours - then maybe I can persuade dh that regular traps are best...esp as I'm the one who's going to have to dispose of any live ones that we catch coz he's too scared of them, hehehe!
