Morning all! Hi TB waves

I am slightly late with breakfast this morning and feel VERY sick, don't know wether to be happy or sad!!

My dd was 10 days late too TB, but I did go into labour naturally in the end (after acupuncture!). She was posterior, so it was long back-ache labour, but I mangaged to do it in 12 hours with the help of a lovely epidural. I hope it's easier next time

Got to go and eat, will bbl xxx

katzguk · 25/10/2004 08:54

still very sick, threw up all evening yesterday starting from about 5pm until gave up with the day and went to bed. Had been throwing up all morning so far but have managed to walk to work (10mins) and am now sitting at computer trying to force some ceral down me which i am hoping won't bounce but the way i feel think it will!!

have reduced my diet to just drinking tap water and plain boring food in an etempt to keep stuff down! but doesn't seem to be making a huge difference.

Have decided to give it until wedsnesday and then will got o gP for help.

Hope no one else is feeling as pooey!!

welshmum · 25/10/2004 09:03

Hello Tessiebear and Cobweb - welcome aboard the June train.
Katzguk you sound pretty ill you poor thing. My friend had terrible morning sickness and she felt alot better after acupuncture - I seem to remember it was almost an overnight cure. If you're in London I've got the numbers for a fantastic midwife who does acupuncture - she's brilliant and helped us conceive (I think)

katzguk · 25/10/2004 09:05

thansk for that welshmum but i'm in Sheffield, there is a acupuncture place just round the corner from here. might give it a go

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 09:11

I would second acupuncture as a great way of helping in general. Throwing up all the time, must make you feel lousy Katz and having to work as well, even worse. I hope your m/s doesn't go on for too long.

I've had breaky now and I feel better, thank goodness. Am off to take dd down to the swings and feed the ducks - half term is so boring!!!

Tessiebear · 25/10/2004 09:57

Hi all, thanks for the welcome Welshmum
Katzguk
Well i am still felling really good at the moment - please let me get through half term before m/s starts [ down on bended knee's icon] I must say i have been noticing today that i have what they call a "heightened sense of smell" - every where i go round the house i smell something i have never smelt before!!!?!
Clutch has just gone on my car and the garage cant mend it until tommorow so it is the park and the ducks for us too today Lipstickmum (only a 5 min walk)
Hope you all have a nice day

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 10:45

It was very windy and too cold for ducks it seems!

What have you girls started to cut out from your diet for early pg/ pg in general? My dp (the GP) is a real pregnancy food fascist and wont let me eat ANYTHING that might be dodgy. I was thinking of having a quick coffee with a biscuit, but feel terribly guilty about the caffeine, suppose I should get de-caff.

I know most of you are feeling really sick and can't even think about food, but are you all as strict as me/dp about what you eat and what you don't? For example, he wont let me eat any leftovers, even if well refridgerated. Not allowed to eat food from the deli-counter either

MrsWednesday · 25/10/2004 10:51

Blimey lipstickmum, that must be tough. I've been trying to be good, eating loads of fruit (washing it before eating), just drinking a couple of green teas a day, no coffee, no alcohol, but haven't been completely perfect. When I went to France last week it was almost impossible to stick to the rules - so ended up eating a steak that was definitely not as well cooked as it should have been. Oops. I didn't realise you weren't supposed to eat leftovers, have failed there too then.

Katzguk, for what it's worth, I think you should go to the doctors, as that sounds like an unacceptable level of vomiting to me (I couldn't cope, I would have been crying in the doctor's room last week!)

How's everyone else doing this morning?

welshmum · 25/10/2004 11:21

I'm doing ok. The nausea is fine as long as I eat enough and don't get too tired -then I just feel awful all round.
I got a bit down yesterday worrying about coping with the physical affects of being pg. I was so fit the first time around and since having dd all I do really is walk and not take the lift, I just haven't made time for excersize. I'm also getting on a bit and can't help thinking that this is going to finish me off!

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:22

I think leftovers are prone to accumulating listeria (or something). I mean, the amount is probably miniscule and would do no harm to a non-pg woman or a pg woman for that matter, but while there's a chance, it's a 'no-no'. I haven't been eating much fruit I am bad at that, but today I WILL eat an apple an orange and a plum, how's that?

When is your scan Mrs W?

Katz, I'm with Mrs W on the m/s thing. Get to the doctors this week, that level of sickness must be incredibly debilitating for you.

katzguk · 25/10/2004 11:23

having my lunch early and hoping that i will be able to have a second snack at about 2 to help witht he evening throwing up.

I have to agree welshmum thats one of my worries i was a lot fitter before having DD but now i take the bus places because i quickie than walking!

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:25

Hehe Welshmum, I know what you mean about levels of fitness. I was really fit before I had dd, used to go to the gym and bike around town/ walk a lot. Since I've had her, I haven't got back into an excercise routine except walking everywhere and cycling occassionaly. I am dreading getting the weight off afterwards coz I'll be even more unfit than first time round!!
I have vowed I will join the gym again and go twice a week once baby#2 is about 12 weeks... you can all bear witness to that!!

katzguk · 25/10/2004 11:26

i've bought a lateral thigh trainer to help with fitness but as yet DH has used it more than me!!

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:29

LOL

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:30

It's my waist (such as it is now) and tummy that have suffered the most

welshmum · 25/10/2004 11:32

IS anyone else on here older like me? I'll be 41 in next month (I can't believe I'm typing that - I feel I should be about 27!)

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:33

I'm 31 now, will be 32 when I give birth. So, no, sorry

welshmum · 25/10/2004 11:35

Lucky you lipstick mum!

katzguk · 25/10/2004 11:37

affraid i'm 26 will be 27 when this ones born!! i'm a little kiddie!! was only 24 when DD was born but got married at 20!!

LipstickMum · 25/10/2004 11:45

AH, you're a youngster Katz dreams of her 20's !!

Don't worry WM, you'll get through it

I am definitely feeling a mild, underlying nausea all day today humpffffffff!!

Tessiebear · 25/10/2004 12:55

I am 31 (just) but i like to call myself twenty eleven!

muddaofsuburbia · 25/10/2004 13:15

hI everyone

i was sure I'd posted on here this morning but I'm obviously losing it already!

I'm 28 btw and will be just 29 when this one arrives (end of May b-day).

Uwila · 25/10/2004 13:45

Welshmum, if it helps any I'm 35... but I'm soooo tired that I feel about 105.

welshmum · 25/10/2004 14:10

It's funny really but it does help a bit Ulwila. I just think why am I this old trying to have another baby? I know the reasons - major fertility problems etc but it still feels like a daft thing to do with all the associated problems. Ah well - sure the knackeredness is all part of the first trimeseter joys....

Uwila · 25/10/2004 14:21

I don't really think you are all that old. Many older have had healthy babies.

Joys of the first trimester? That sentence should be banned in law. Who was it who started that rumour about pregnancy being fun? I think it's crap. I do this because of the precious baby that comes. But getting there is not my idea of fun.

Perhaps when I'm not so tired and cranky (maybe next month) I'll change my mind.

[big yawn]
