@andddddherewegoagain

You can find them on the Snuzpod website do you have the 2 or the 3?
Below is for the 2, but if you have the 3 you can google Snuzpod 3 instruction manual and it will come up.

www.snuz.co.uk/downloads/snuzpodassemblyinstructions.pdf

AndddddHerewegoagain · 06/05/2020 20:50

Thanks @Gigitree i googled it but couldn't seem to find anything. (Also i have an old school 1 from 2017 when my son was born)

Ah gotcha @andddddherewegoagain I guess they’ve taken the manual for the 1 offline then.
Hopefully it hasn’t changed that much and you can use the instructions from the 2 or 3?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 06/05/2020 22:04

It did help thank you!

@Millettmum @AndddddHerewegoagain Thank you both, so grateful for any advice as I feel so unprepared!! I need to get a hat, cellular blanket and some baby sleep suits I think! Have some bepanthen, should I get metanium too? So many little extras to think about! Having a right old panic that I don't have time to get everything ready, wish I was on mat leave already! 😬😬

AndddddHerewegoagain · 06/05/2020 22:36

Metanium is super thick. I usually only used it when my son had really bad nappy rash as it stains everything you touch and is impossible to wash off! My favourite nappy cream randomly is the sainsburys little ones own brand. Its so cheap and i found it really effective. I think its trial and error as to what cream suits your child. Im sure you will get there with everything you need. Babys actually only need very little!

Ugh this bump is everywhere! Touching my boobs and my legs. Need some space back in my own torso!

newbyxx · 07/05/2020 08:38

Does anyone feel like their bump has got smaller? I feel like mine has but it doesn't look like it's dropped much? X

APD1981 · 07/05/2020 08:41

@pegase won't be long! I wonder if we'll miss our bumps when they're gone??

Has anyone had any comments on the shape of their bump in relation to baby's sex? I'm team yellow so dont know what I'm having but from the moment I got pregnant and told people I kept getting comments that it'll be a boy because feeling like this baby has been sent from my dad who died last July and being due on my mum and dad's wedding anniversary. So I've had it in my head that I'm probably having a boy, not through my own inklings but because of what people keep saying.

But I'm now getting comments that they think it's a girl when I show family and friends latest bumpnpics because I'm all out front and apparently quite neat (I feel huge) which people are saying is a girl thing.

Anyone else had experiences like this? Those who know the sex, how are you carrying your babies?? Just for fun. I know none of this is remotely scientific!

APD1981 · 07/05/2020 08:46

@newbyxx sometimes I think this then baby moves back into their usual position and pokes their bum out so I feel big again! I think position makes a difference. My bump is still quite high although I often feel very low pressure in my pelvis, too. I'm tall (just under 5'10") but with long limbs. My mum said my arms and legs percentile were off the charts when I was born! So maybe I have a long baby rather than a chunky one which is why my bump changes when it stretches out??

Millettmum · 07/05/2020 08:47

@newbyxx
Was baby breech before but now head down giving you more space? I had that.

@APD1981
Both girls for me and yes all at the front and tidy.

sarahlounich · 07/05/2020 08:49

@APD1981 my bump is all front, from behind I don't really look pregnant and I'm having a boy....sorry if that throws a spanner in the works!!

My heartburn has definitely eased and feel I can breath a bit better. Midwife said yesterday he was 3/5 engaged so only just....better get bouncing on that ball!

36+2

newbyxx · 07/05/2020 08:57

@Millettmum @APD1981 no baby has been head down since around 30 weeks! I still feel like it's quite high still, but my clothes fit better and I can put my shoes on again just visibly looks smaller Hmm, could les fluid be the reason? 35+4 x

APD1981 · 07/05/2020 08:58

@sarahlounich haha, no spanner, just thought it'd be interesting to share! I had initially more of a preference for a girl (I don't really care that much, but if I were forced to choose the sex I'd have chosen girl) but have spent most of my pregnancy being told everyone thinks it's a boy, now it's back to girl again so I'm just letting my imagination run wild! At least it'll be one or the other! 😂

APD1981 · 07/05/2020 08:59

@newbyxx do we have the same due date?! I'm 35+4 too

MissisBee · 07/05/2020 09:08

I always found vaseline or bepanthen best when DS was small, but you don't really need to use creams if their skin is fine.
Back for an antenatal appointment this morning

newbyxx · 07/05/2020 09:09

@APD1981 ah I'm one day ahead just
Checked my app I'm 35+5 loosing track of days!

APD1981 · 07/05/2020 09:36

Haha I didn't think we were the same! So close now!

Gigitree · 07/05/2020 10:17

@newbyxx mine has been head down for weeks now too. But I have days where my bump doesn’t feel as bit and I start to worry she isn’t growing enough or something, but then by the evening/next day I feel huge again 😂 I think it might be a mix of fluid levels, how bloated you are from food, how ‘regular‘ you are 😂 and if baby is sticking their bum out or not!

I can’t remember, did anyone else in this group have normal measurements at the 20 week scan apart from just the abdominal circumference being in the 95th (or there abouts) percentile.

I had a growth scan on Monday and she is measuring perfectly between 50th-60th percentile for everything except her AC which is the 95th percentile. They’re not worried because I don’t have GD and all her measurements are on the same trajectory, but I keep asking them if I need to be worried or if this is a problem or if it indicates any sort of issues and I don’t ever get a clear enough (in my opinion) answer. They generally seem to suggest it’s not a problem as it’s still on the charts and on the same growth trajectory but it just means she will have more reserves which surely is just a good thing?

33+1

Rinoa · 07/05/2020 10:51

My belly feels tighter up top and flabbier at the bottom lol I thought that would be the opposite if baby is head down now, so odd!

AnonyHB · 07/05/2020 12:12

I detest the growth charts. The tape measure measurement is so unreliable and scans also have about 20% error margin. All they do is stress us out and make us worry, particularly as there is nothing any of us can do the change the size of the baby and none of the assessments are reliable enough anyway. I’ve got my 34 week appointment on Monday and I’m dreading it. 20 week scan showed baby about 50% for everything, 28 M.W. appointment I apparently measured small. Growth scan showed about 50% for everything. 31 M.W. appointment and apparently measuring big that time but no growth scan. So god knows what I’ll be told on Monday but the thought is already pissing me off to be honest,

Also would advise checking your trust’s policy on partners and birth. My midwife told me at last appointment partners can only come in once labour is established (6cm) but I’ve checked the policy and actually the trust don’t say this at all, they simply state there can only be one partner for the labour and same with visitors, only one and restricted visiting hours. I’m printing it out to take with me and fully intend to challenge them if they try to impose this. If the policy is that you can only have a partner in once established then fine, but it’s not fine to have a policy and then tell women something more restrictive/operationalise the policy differently!

Gigitree · 07/05/2020 12:24

@anonyHB I completely agree. My friend kept getting told she would have a big baby due to GD and her baby ended up being so small she was in tiny baby clothes for ages!

It’s hard isn’t it, because while I’m so grateful for the all the tests and measurements they can do to pick up any potential issues it does sometimes feel as if they’re doing too much, especially when like you say they have such a margin of error.

That’s interesting re: your trust. The maternity unit at the hospital where I’ll be giving birth have been quite good at putting everything on their Facebook page re: partners etc.
Currently you’re only allowed your partner there when you’re in established labour, I think they’re saying this is when you’re 4cms though not 6. Then they can stay with you in the labour room until baby is born, and then some ladies are being discharged straight from delivery (I imagine perhaps just those where it’s v.straight forward and perhaps experienced mums), if you have to go on the postnatal ward afterwards then your partner has to go home and cannot come to visit, so you won’t see them again until you are discharged.
Still hoping that last part might get relaxed between now and my due date though!

Busylizzie85 · 07/05/2020 13:21

Hi all! I thought I'd share my friends experience at our local hospital, she had her little boy on the 2nd of May.

Hey! Aw thank you 🥰🥰
Yes I was going to message you - honestly it was such a positive experience there! (The hospital is empty, you don’t have to pay for parking etc!) All the midwives were amazing and they let Iain stay with me for a lot longer than normal because it was so quiet.. I went in and was at 7/8cm 😳 so was far enough gone that we went straight to a private room (if you are too early they will send partner home if you wanted to stay / or send both home to come back later) Iain went home at 1:30am and I stayed overnight on my own and then I was discharged at 12 next day
Then once we were in private room then had one midwife with you at all times - they did a corona test on me but I didn’t even think about coronavirus there! The midwives are in masks but you get used to that quick and didn’t make any difference!
I was so worried about going in but you don’t have to at all you will be really looked after!

Even before coronavirus partner weren’t allowed to stay overnight so nothing had changed from my experience! Only thing is if you had to be induced etc you would have to be on your own til you are 4cm I think which is a shame but honestly the midwives are amazing they will be with you the whole time!

Also it’s quite nice on the wards because the mums all talk to each other and everyone’s in the same boat and really friendly.

Basically your partner walks you up to the maternity inpatient bit when you arrive to hospital then they have to go outside for you to be checked then they ring them to say home in or go home.

I hope that helps everyone or eases some anxiety. I know it's different at every hospital but I thought we could all do with a good news story. 😊

UKtoSK · 07/05/2020 13:28

@newbyxx I feel like my bump gets bigger and smaller all the time. I agree with others, I think it depends on how bloated and constipated I’ve been, how much baby is sticking her bum out etc. I’ve had scans at 22, 27, 30 and 32 weeks (currently 32+5) and despite feeling like bump gets bigger and smaller or doesn’t grow baby has been growing on track and fluid is the right amount etc. The U.K. system of measuring the bump and plotting each measurement in a graph sounds really stressful. Every scan I get head diameter, head circumference, femur length and abdomen circumference measurements and an average gestational age and estimated weight based on those measurements, no graphing or anything.

@APD1981 I’m also all out front and my bump seems pretty narrow. Definitely can’t tell I’m pregnant from behind. I’m having a girl. The only comments I get are “wow you’re so huge are you supposed to be that big already?” Etc even though I think I’m still quite small, at least compared to all the bump pictures on Instagram??? Lol. Korean women just carry very small I guess and I’m being compared to them.

umabb · 07/05/2020 13:56

Another quieter /smaller movements day 🥺 not that no movements at all but much more subtle moves. Drives me crazy. 🤪 have to pay a lot of attention to make sure I observed moves. Can't focus ok work !

Question pls ladies, do babies move less when their heads are engaged? which I learnt can happen at week 34.

34+4 today
