Hi all - still haven't got back into Mumsnet yet after hols - am hopeless! Skim-read bits of this, sorry to hear of all the bits on the other thread getting out of hand! Lists are good - I like lists!
Tip from someone who got it wrong before (this may be repeating someone else) - do put yours and baby stuff in 2 separate bags, poor DH was flapping around trying to extricate babygrows from bras! This time, I'm going to put a nappy, vest and sleepsuit at the top of the bag, with the spares packed underneath (Mum treated me to a GORGEOUS new changing bag which is much nicer than the freebie I had from Boots Baby Club last time!)
I used some arnica tablets from the homeopathy bit in Boots last time - don't know if they worked or not but I didn't have too much pain from bruising/stitching so I've bought some for this time too. They are really tiny and taste like sugar, Boots own brand in a blue tube.
Have a change of clothes and pack of huge maternity towels, breastpads and spare knickers at the top of your bag ready for afterwards.
Saw midwife yesterday - the third one in as many appointments!!! First one left, someone else was there at the next app't - this one says she is the new one for my surgery but we'll wait and see if she's there next month!!
Baby is exactly where I thought she(?) was - head down, back towards my right hand side. I have a very lopsided bump at times! She did say that at this stage if it's head-down it's v unlikely to turn upside down as there's getting to be less room so that's one hurdle crossed!
