MM - could you not just suggest meeting for a coffee/lunch saying something like you really fancy whatever is on offer in a particular cafe or something and then once you are with her you can explain why you don't want to go to your MIL's if it comes up? It would be very difficult to explain briefly in a text, wouldn;t it? Surely she knows the situation anyway?

mimicakey · 14/09/2007 15:06

MIL I mean

MRSskidaddle · 14/09/2007 15:07

X posts mimcakey - great minds think alike eh?

mimicakey · 14/09/2007 15:07

High five MrsSkiddadle! (Congrats BTW!)

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:14

Thanks ladies....

I think that would be giving too much credit to MIL to be honest. we didnt just fall out. Dont want to explain to her but do want to make it clear that I do not want to go there and that it is my choice. Of course she knows..... they talk about me all the time....

Can i say something like

"wont be going there (anytime soon)but we could go to........."

MotherofZ · 14/09/2007 15:21

I wouldn't say you're not going over, as it is her mum at the end of the day - she might get offended. Just send her an invite along the lines of it would be great to see you...how about we meet up on...

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:28

yeah you are all right.

I wouldnt say i hate your mum or anything.

just dont want them to think they took my own free will away from me.

mimicakey · 14/09/2007 15:35

Did we have a maths genius on here or was that somewhere else? I want to work out if A is 1.5 metres high and B is 2 metres high, how far away does B have to be to appear the same height? Just a silly thing but my maths is rubbish!

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:39

Mine too - so have answer mimicakey.

MRSskidaddle · 14/09/2007 15:43

mimicakey - all I know is that sounds like Pythagarus (can't even spell it!) but more than that i cannot say - my dad would be so ashamed of me - he is a mathematician

MM - I know it must be annoying to have to tone down what you feel but I think it is the only way - as MotherofZ says - she is your SIL's mum and no-one wants to hear anything bad said about their mum, however indirect and subtle - hold your head high and don't say a bad word about anyone and you will come out of it smelling of roses!

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:45

that is my stance anyway. no talking about anyone in front of DS etc.

text back

"Due Dec. You and I could meet for dinner tomorrow night if you like."

MotherofZ · 14/09/2007 15:49

Pythagorus theorum
a squared + b squared = c squared
and to caluclate c you need to find the square root of it
Although I don't that is the right formula to use otherwise the sticks will be perpendicular to each other, instead of parallel..

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:50

My head hurts.

MRSskidaddle · 14/09/2007 15:55

but you can make two trinagles out of the rectangle motherofZ? My head hurts too..

Have just been reading the August antenatal club messages (not sure if I should but anyway) and reading all their birth announcements and it just struck me how cool it will be that we will ALL have our babies within a month (or so) of each other - every other day there will be a new baby - isn't that a lovely thought

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 15:56

Ahhhh

MotherofZ · 14/09/2007 16:02

lol - this has got my brain ticking - am off now, will try and post later

mimicakey · 14/09/2007 16:07

I was thinking it must have something to do with triangles! Tried to look on t'internet but it was waaay more complicated than I what I want I think!

Ambi · 14/09/2007 16:11

bec - wish it was my first pair of mat jeans already out grown 2 pairs!!, but am really happy these are mega comfy, they pretty much strech upto my bra, mmmmm sexy...

mixedmama · 14/09/2007 16:17

i kept my DP jeans from last time round. They are not brilliant but certainly do the job.... dont feel too sexy in them tho.

mimicakey · 14/09/2007 16:20

I don't really ever feel sexy anymore! Just slightly ridiculous! I'm sure I'll be fine once bubba is born but that can't come soon enough I don't think!

MRSskidaddle · 14/09/2007 16:25

I know - sexy is the last thing that crosses my mind these days

suey2 · 14/09/2007 16:31

isnt the maths query about circles rather than rectangles? if you think of a field of vision
