Didnt they do the Dawn storyline in real time??

I read that the actual story was supposed to end with Mad May and Rob kidnapping Summer but it all had to be re-written and changed to make Dawn into single mum which was never planned as the madeleine mccann thing happened and it was deemed inappropriate- they had to call Rob and May back after they had left and re-write everything.

Quite sad that i know so much about enders too.

Sorry that posted so many times... computer had a mad moment.

insywinsyspider · 18/09/2007 09:57

mixedmama - I agree with what everyone has said, go and get it checked out, you're not silly - if it makes you feel better one of the mums I know went into hosp at 38 weeks because she was convinced that her waters had broken only to be told she'd wee'd herself they won't think you're stupid and it will help you relax, hope you're feeling better today

claraq · 18/09/2007 09:58

Yes I heard that about the Rob and May storyline too. The whole thing got a bit proposterous but then eastenders is! Who do you think is stalking Ian?

Well I had thought Lucy, but then of course she is doing it with somebody if she is involved. Then thought Phil, but far too well thought out. Maybe Ben??

no idea really just clutching at straws.... i reckon it must be a blast from the past not someone current.

insywinsyspider · 18/09/2007 10:18

on easteners - I reckon it is blast from past too - I don't believe the photo as too easy to do on photo shop...

loopsy - heard other stories of labour starting at 7pm - fingers crossed! I figure if I get a bag packed for him I'll never have to use it!

suey2 · 18/09/2007 10:23

mixedmama- you poor thing! Sounds like a tummy bug- I ahve IBS and in the early stages of the PG felt a lot of period type pain. It was just my tummy reacting to my change in diet and once I had a good clear out, it felt a lot better. If it is not a lot better today, however, i would go and get it checked out- doctor raterh than MW (I remember your previous MW experience!)

Insy the whole SAHM/WOHM thing really hacks me off. We could afford for me to stay at home, but I have decided to keep working. The implication that our children are being damaged by our choices, whether BF/FF, WOHM/SAHM, state/private school etc etc etc is so crude and prescriptive- it really makes me recoil to read some of the other threads at times. Again it is other people trying to justify their own choices by imposing their devout opinions on others.

Bra extenders- whoever was asking- i have just ordered some from here

hahaa i instantly thought of photoshop when i saw it, even looked photshopped.

who fromt he past tho?

ohhh, could it be steven the oldest who is in NZ.... oh i think it could.

mixedmama · 18/09/2007 10:42

Would be a miracle if i could actually contact MW anyway Suey. Have no idea how to. I have a number for the community midwives team at the hospital and that is it and she is rarely there as she is generally out in the community.

I actually had a mobile number for my MW in Camden, so different from borough to borough.

I might make an appointment at docs then at least then if he thinks i should see MW I wont feel so silly.

insywinsyspider · 18/09/2007 11:09

ooohh yes I think it could be steven too

hope docs are able to help you MM

and anyone who gets tax credits just spoken to lady on help line and if expecting dc2+ don't need to fill out forms just ring and let them know when baby is born and give details - so much easier than last time! now I just need to remember to do it...

mixedmama · 18/09/2007 11:19

I need to remember to do it full stop, have never actually got around to it. So silly of me.

MotherofZ · 18/09/2007 13:12

Morning all...
Hope you are well. Went to M/W this morning and explained to her about my SPD like pain and she was not helpful at all. Bascially she told me to go swimming and not do too much strenouse activity. She seemed so bored when she was saying it, a bit like I've said this a thousand times today already. I told her I was fining it hard to walk for more than 10 mins and she said see how I am in 3 weeks and she will organise a hospital appointment if worse. I was trying to explain to her that I was in pain now and was very dismiss. No leaflets or website information like what Beckles got...

The only plus thing was I heard the heart beat...

About Eastenders - I thought Cindy was coming back.....???

MRSskidaddle · 18/09/2007 13:19

MM - I have had what you describe a few times - the reason i stopped cycling. I am like you in that i don't like going to the hospital in case they think I'm being silly, and I never have, I honestly think it happens because your uterus is squashing your bowel and stomach so much so they just don't function as well as usual. They say both constipation and diarrohea are common in pregnancy so as long as it doesn't continue I wouldn't worry too much.

Thank you for sympathy re DD being at her granny's. My mum phoned last night to say she had become really distressed and inconsolable because we weren't there but that she was OK after half an hour. Until then we'd been having a lovely time - went out for dinner and went to the cinema but now I can't help but worry. I'm sure she will be OK, it's just a long time to leave her and she's too young to really understand what's going on, oh my little baby

Caz10 -I'm also due to go back in June but I can work the hours I like so it's not too bad for me. Do you definitely have to go back then or can you decide nearer the time? Doesn't everyone have the right to 9 months paid leave now? As MM says, try not to worry about it now - you might be gagging to get back after six months of sleep deprivation and madness!!

MRSskidaddle · 18/09/2007 13:21

for you MotherofZ - some of these m/w's are awful, aren't they (but some lovely)? I'm sure she has said it a thousand times but that doesn't mean it's any less painful or difficult for you. Could you make an appt with your GP instead? Three weeks seems too long to wait

MotherofZ · 18/09/2007 13:30

cheers MrsSkid. Even though I'm not due to see M/W for another 3 weeks - going to book another appointment for next week with her and when she asks why I've turned up again I'm going to really have to stress it to her.

I wish I wasn't so nice sometimes and let people fob me off...feel really now.

suey2 · 18/09/2007 13:37

I agree with skidaddle motherofz. You really don't want to wait. I am sure your GP will be more helpful.
Don't anyone assume that it will be ok to struggle on and that it will be ok after the birth. My colleague (another physio) started using crutches at 23 weeks and had to use them for a year after she gave birth. This is obviously not inevitable, but please take it seriously and insist on a referral to a women's health physio.

Caz, I have to admit that may seems a long way away! Maybe it is because it is my first. I am comforting myself that I will be doing 3 days per week and 8 hours per day, rather than the 60 hours per week it has taken to set up my business. October 24th cannot come soon enough, though- getting really tired now.

Had to rush over to someone's office today and treat their neck on a low bench, after i had lifted the bench. She felt miles better after, but I did have my doubts about myself! not wise to play russian roulette with one's own body when not PG, never mind now!

insywinsyspider · 18/09/2007 13:55

motherofz - appointment next week sounds like a really good idea - if you can cry on cue as well that helps for getting things done my MW is lovely but very flakey , I cried last time I saw her when I described my epsi scar pain and got the best one to one attention I've ever had - although I seem to cry at everything at the moment so its kind of to be expected, def keep bugging her till she sorts it out for you

any second/third timers finding the baby is sitting really low down? last night it was like baby was tap dancing on my cervix trying to find a comfortable position, dh had to put his hand right on my knicker line to feel it - its really quite uncomfortable, not painful but it kind of hurts if that makes sense - anyone else?

MRSskidaddle · 18/09/2007 14:09

yes I've been getting that too insy - is it to do with having already had a baby? i though the baby didn't move down so early on subsequent pregnancies...

good idea about the overnight bag for current dc's btw - would never have thought of it - haven't thought about my own overnight bag either though so think I am just disorganised...

Neuro · 18/09/2007 14:27

Hello all

Nothing to report in Neuro world except today i dislike my boss even more. I feel thoroughly undervalued, underused and underappreciated at work. I like being useful and problem solving and being bright and jolly, but it all seems rather wasted here.

So i'm listening to East 17 on headphones and treated myself to a pasty at lunch.

I can't wait to not have to come here. Or ever again. Want a new job when i have my new life as a MUM.

Commiserations to all of you in pain and as plenty of people have said, during pregnancy this is a time to see a medical person even if it's nothing. It says so in my pregnancy book! And I'm sure pay plenty of tax for it!

Neuro · 18/09/2007 14:29

P.s. I would be truly lost without the internet , at work

Neuro · 18/09/2007 14:29

and in a coma under my desk...

insywinsyspider · 18/09/2007 14:34

I don't think its moved down like engaged moved down, just got stuck down there if that makes sense - feels like I have no muscle tone so its all resting really low

don't worry I'm disorganised too - I have all these good ideas but have yet to do anything about them!
