@UKtoSK I've started to get colostrum now! It's very strange but quite nice to see!

Does anyone know what I can use for thrush? I think I've got it but not sure I will be able to get hold of my GP on Monday! I would usually get a swab done to just be sure it isn't any other kind of infection but I really don't want to go into the doctors 😞

APD1981 · 21/03/2020 19:43

The RCOG have published updated advice for pregnant women today. They've changed the advice on working if you're in your first or second trimester. I know there's a few of you here still in the second trimester so it's worth reading as your employer may want you to go back to work. Forewarned is forearmed!

mrssunshinexxx · 21/03/2020 19:52

@UKtoSK that sounds really sweet I also can't wait to see my husband hold out darling daughter for the first time

I also had my first leak tonight ! Felt weird but also happy about it want the other one to leak to I know they are both working 😂

@APD1981its very stressful new information I wish they would back it up with facts I'm 27 weeks today so I don't think they will make me go back for the sake of a week?

APD1981 · 21/03/2020 20:17

What do you do? The info seems to suggest you should still work from home where possible but, if you have a people facing role (maybe like in a supermarket) you can carry on doing so until 28 weeks. I wouldn't expect you to have to go back for a week but just be prepared in case your employer becomes aware of the info. Unless they're regularly check the RCOG website, they might not. Try not to worry. I shared the info so we could all be prepared in case the situation does arise x

mrssunshinexxx · 21/03/2020 20:30

@APD1981 work in a letting agents so we are really quietening down of-course. I don't think she will check the Website so I'll just keep quiet for the sake of a week x

Blizy · 21/03/2020 20:33

@chocolate26 my midwife gave me a canes tan cream and pessary for thrush, I was
Advised to use my finger and not the pessary applicator.

APD1981 · 21/03/2020 21:04

@mrssunshinexxx good plan. To be honest, you're so close to the third trimester now that surely the advice applies to you anyway. It's lot like you're 7 weeks! It'd be different in that case!

umabb · 21/03/2020 21:19

Got the silver cross surf 3 travel system and got the snuzpod assembled today! Parcel arrived in the morning from John Lewis with the cutest bodysuits, sleep suits, hats, socks and everything. In the past week I probably placed 50 orders on amazon and this place is filled with baby stuff! I feel so much more relaxed than a week ago when we had nothing ready! Hehe
I try not to think about the possibility of cancelling appointment and classes or troubles with the birth because of the virus.. got a private 28wk scan and a midwife appointment next week, both should still go ahead I would think. Next nhs appointment is on April 7th. I'll need that for my fragmin prescription which is essential. Thinking about the whole situation gives me so much stress. I really hope things will work out all fine for us. xx

@chocolate26 You can use clotrimazole cream and/or pessary, but you have to get them on prescription as they won’t sell them over the counter if you’re pregnant. You can’t have oral fluconazole. I currently have Timodene, which is hydrocortisone for the itching and nystatin to treat the thrush. Highly recommend Vagisil cream too which is brilliant for soothing it all.

I’ve had it almost constantly for about five months now so become a bit of an expert.... Confused

Rinoa · 21/03/2020 23:36

I noticed yesterday Baby had hiccups it was the oddest feeling.
Also noticing it right now, and seemed normal at first but now I'm worried after reading something online that was disturbing! Something about it can be a side affect if umbilical cord is tied around the neck? My mom said it has to do with things your eat (could be spices, pepper, onion etc) and has that effect on baby. Anyone have experience with that?

Gigitree · 22/03/2020 06:29

@Rinoa at my last midwife appointment she listened to the heartbeat with the Doppler and we could hear that baby had hiccups. She said it’s totally normal and it happens a lot throughout pregnancy and it’s all part of the process, so I really don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

mrssunshinexxx · 22/03/2020 08:43

@chocolate26 you can buy over counter at boots just wear a big coat or send your Dh in for it don't use the applicator ! Just your fingers pessary only not the oral tablet x

BabyBird20 · 22/03/2020 09:38

@umabb That's so exciting!! I went and collected a load of items from my friends yesterday (while staying 2 m away!) Was so lovely to be out in the car and chatting in the garden after a week inside! I now have a cot, next to me, Moses basket, Pebble car seat and a ton of clothes to sort through and choose what I want to keep. Going to start buying the mattresses and the smaller things now we're on the home straight!
28 weeks tomorrow!! ❤️🤰💙

Busylizzie85 · 22/03/2020 09:45

We have finished the wallpapering yesterday and the wardrobe and chest of draws turned up so that will give me something to do in the next couple of weeks 😊🌈

chocolate26 · 22/03/2020 10:54

Thanks for the advice ladies 😊 I will send DH to get me some!

@Busylizzie85 love the wallpaper! It's very cute. My DH is no longer going into work, he was working in central London and the risk is too big now so we have decided to start decorating baby's nursery now! So excited. Everyone please share any photos you want of your nurseries being decorated! I would love to see them.

Cornishbumpkin · 22/03/2020 10:58

Love the wallpaper @Busylizzie85 hubby and I have been self isolating this week so have painted our nursery. Doing a toy story theme 😁

OMG that is adorable @Cornishbumpkin 😍

chocolate26 · 22/03/2020 11:21

@Cornishbumpkin that's so lovely! I love how cute and gentle the colours are 😊

Cornishbumpkin · 22/03/2020 11:26

Thanks ladies, we're so in love with it. Don't yet have a cot and hubby is going to build Andy's toy chest but so happy to have got the painting done Grin

Rinoa · 22/03/2020 11:34

😍 loving the nurseries !

Waiting for payday and will start to sort out hospital bag I think ! Also maybe a bouncer. We ordered the main bits at the baby show beginning of March, now worried things will arrive late. Think they said 4-8 weeks I know there's still time but getting paranoid now!

AmyMaria2 · 22/03/2020 12:01

Happy Mother's Day ladies ❤️

The nursery's look amazing!!

Has anyone else thought about cancelling scans or appointments? I have a scan next Monday and I know I have a few after that, they're extra scans to see if I will need a c sectIon, to be induced and when etc, and to check baby's growth and excess fluid situation. I don't want to cancel important appointments but I'm not sure what to do!? Maybe I'll see what is going on with isolating and things in a weeks time..

X

Blizy · 22/03/2020 12:18

I'm loving the nurseries, I think we are going for a rainbow theme too. 🌈

APD1981 · 22/03/2020 13:12

Lvoe the nursery photos! We have a cot + mattress and a single bed + mattress arriving in the next few days and then I'll be pretty much done with the nursery. Just smaller bits and things for my hospital bag to get then. I'll post photos once everything has arrived.

@Amymaria2 I would not be missing any scans or appointments if I were you, especially as they are having to keep a closer eye on you. If the hospital contact you and suggest a phone appointment then go with that but otherwise just go and adhere to all the hygiene advice. The hospital will probably be stopping any non-urgent care anyway so far fewer people there than normal. That's what I would do, anyway x

Pegase · 22/03/2020 16:58

Appt all good- baby trying to kick Doppler off which was funny! Seriously stressed about the amount of hospital surfaces I had to touch though- coronavirus nightmare particularly as I'm in London.

My next one is by phone and then they are hoping all face to face after that.

So unprepared- we've only bought the snuz pod and some clothes!

LillianFullStop · 22/03/2020 17:10

Oh I'm loving all these nursery pics! Baby will be in our room at least for the first few months so gives me more time to think about a nursery.

I have a GTT test on Monday and dreading having to go in to hospital. Thinking of paying for a taxi instead of braving the tube like I would normally do. Ironically my TfL baby on board badge came in the mail just when they identified pregnant women in the vulnerable/extra caution category so I'll probably never get to use it!
