Spending the day washing baby clothes today 😊 I have enjoyed putting them into piles of colour and looking at all the cute things I have been bought or bought myself for little girl.
If any one needs a pick me up I highly recommend it.

Cb31 · 08/04/2020 10:01

@newbyxx always nice to have a due date buddy 😊. Hope your midwife appointment goes well today. I can't wait for mine, the last 3 weeks have dragged! X

umabb · 08/04/2020 10:09

@LillianFullStop thanks for setting up the sheet, I've added myself ! Due June 15th with a boy! 😃

I've been obsessed with reading stories on Kicks Count , about those expecting mums found unusual movements and got checked out immediately and saved their babies and etc. I have anticardiolipin which is under control but it is a cause of stillbirth. Very nervous about it and I'm counting kicks by hours. Yesterday little B was definitely less active than the day before, with lighter/lazier moves and kicks but I did felt him as often - but still, it drove me nuts! I'm getting crazy ... still just 30+3 , long to go 😑

How do you count the kicks ladies ? x

@umabb it's not so much about counting the kicks but recognising you're baby's patterns. As you can imagine I've very paranoid about movements. I have actually bought a count the kicks wrist band everyone I feel a cluster of movement I record it on my band. It just reminds me that yes, I have felt baby love. As it happens my baby girl is very active and has a regular pattern so I am quite easily able to keep track of her movements.

umabb · 08/04/2020 10:42

Thanks @Blizy
So pattern to me is 1) when baby moves + 2) how he/she moves.
I guess my question is that should we worry if 2) changes, as in less intense?

OP posts:
newbyxx · 08/04/2020 10:43

@umabb I'm not counting kicks as due to my anterior placenta it makes it hard to feel him let alone count hourly kicks. I just go by if I feel him throughout the day I'm happy. When I was being monitored in triage the other day, the machine recorded the baby moved around 20 times in the space of 40mins but I only felt 4 of these movements so made me realise how having an anterior placenta can really affect how often and the intensity of how I'm feeling kicks. Xx

UKtoSK · 08/04/2020 10:50

Thank you for adding me to the spreadsheet! Looks like I’m last 😫 it’ll be so exciting seeing you all start having your babies though. Those of you due the first week of June could be having your babies NEXT MONTH if you’re a little early!

@Busylizzie85 I love looking at our baby girl’s clothes too! Going to buy a chest of drawers next week for all her stuff and then I can start washing them too.

Gigitree · 08/04/2020 10:54

@Busylizzie85 we washed our baby girls clothes the other day, I couldn’t stop sniffing them after they smelt so good! 😂 we used the fairy non-bio and the comfort pure fabric softener and the smell is incredible! Once she’s here those clothes mixed with her new baby smell will be heaven 😂😂

BabyBird20 · 08/04/2020 10:58

@umabb I'd forgotten we were due date buddies!! 😍😍 Both with boys too! 💙

umabb · 08/04/2020 11:24

@BabyBird20 yes we are haha x how are you feeling? Hope all is fine xx

OP posts:
umabb · 08/04/2020 11:28

@newbyxx I have an anterior placenta too and I was surprised the sonographer said baby couldn't stop moving while I had the last scan but i couldn't feel anything. It's a relief to know that they move more than we feel but also sometimes make me think that I wouldn't know if he moved or not at all :-/ As I say I'm crazy haha xx

Do you mind me asking why you went in for the monitoring ? Hope all is fine xx

OP posts:
newbyxx · 08/04/2020 11:32

@umabb yeah I also feel like that but will and have driven myself mad so I'm trying to just trust the process but it's hard. I went in with reduced movements which obviously weren't reduced I just couldn't feel him.

umabb · 08/04/2020 11:37

@newbyxx thanks for letting me know. Talking to you guys always calm me down a bit knowing a lot of us are in same position. xx

BabyBird20 · 08/04/2020 12:02

@umabb thanks, yeah I'm ok, been doing a lot of research round the issues they found at our growth scan which probably doesn't help as can be some scary stuff! Trying not to worry til I've had the mri next week!

Can't remember if I already asked this but has anyone on here had an elective c section? I'm not sure whether to push for one with baby's head being so off the charts big!! 😬😬

LillianFullStop · 08/04/2020 12:08

Hello I think I've added everyone now - wow it's going to be a busy June! So exciting! True for those due in the first week of June (there are a few of us on 5/6 June) our 37 week mark is mid-May that's next month!!!

Busylizzie85 I'm going to spend this Easter weekend washing baby clothes too - I'm excited to fold them up and have them ready in the drawers. It should make packing the hospital bag easier (I hope!)

Has everyone decided on swaddling (muslins/cellular blankets) vs grobags? We swaddled with DD 3 years ago then switched to grobags from 6 months and she got stronger and managed to escape out of them.

@Pegase hope your GTT was ok and you have gotten something to eat now!

chocolate26 · 08/04/2020 12:14

@LillianFullStop thanks for setting that chart up it's a good idea! I can't seem to add myself though, I'm not very good with this kind of thing!! I'm due on 20th June with a surprise.

Smiffette · 08/04/2020 12:20

Just had my 31 wk midwife appointment, all ok but measured the same as last time so I am being sent for a growth scan.

31+2

Pegase · 08/04/2020 12:58

@LillianFullStop GTT always makes me feel rubbish. Didn't feel so bad at the clinic today (I waited my two hours in the car as had parked it just outside) but still feel groggy now even after eating!

I'm going GroSnuggle then GroBags. Fortunately have larger GroBags over from last time. Can't be bothered with cellular blankets this time- spent whole time worrying about them coming loose before.

Blizy · 08/04/2020 13:20

@BabyBird20 I had an elcs last time and I am having another at 38 weeks this time too. It really was such a calm, relaxed and enjoyable birth experience.

sarahlounich · 08/04/2020 13:31

@Lillianfullstop thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet..eeek i'm first at the minute!

I've got a couple of growsnugs that will swaddle and be a sleeping bag suitable for newborns and then some normal sleeping bags for when he's a bit bigger.

I'm so aware of movements now..I don't specifically count.....I know when he's most active (night/early morning and evening) and as long as I feel him throughout the day too I feel reassured. Had a few evening where he hasn't been beating me up from the inside (he's gonna be a boxer or footballer I'm sure!) but laying on my left definitely makes him come to life again.

We're going to wash all his clothes over the weekend too and I can't wait..then I'm gonna start putting some bits together for hospital bags 😬

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine today ☀️

32+1

MissisBee · 08/04/2020 13:41

We used grobags from when DS was big enough for them. He hated being swaddled, always wriggling!
I had been leaning towards an elective section this time, but now, because of the covid situation, thinking more about vbac, mainly in terms of getting home sooner after.

BabyBird20 · 08/04/2020 13:41

@blizy thanks for letting me know, I'm really hoping it's something they let me go for now. His dad's birth was a car crash due to the size of his head and he came out bruised and battered post forceps, ventoose (however you spell that!) and emergency c to top it all off! I just don't want that for this one if I can avoid it!! 😬🤞

MissisBee · 08/04/2020 13:43

I've got my bag mostly all packed and the newborn clothes washed and organised. Moses basket out.
Preparing early, just in case. By this stage with DS, I was already on blood pressure meds. Thankful that no sign of any problems yet this time.

Zoey92 · 08/04/2020 13:59

@Magpiefeather my lil pug was abit crazy last night too.
How you feeling in yourself? Im finding this week even a little 15/20min walk with dog is hard with pressure and hips and i wouldnt say im big 😂

Magpiefeather · 08/04/2020 14:10

@zoey92 I’m exactly the same. We went on a walk to the farm shop for milk and veg this morning, only about a mile over fields but I was out of puff pretty much the whole way!!
