Thanks @LillianFullStop

Currently sat in my car for 2 hours as we're not allowed to sit in the waiting room to keep everyone safe.

So glad i bought the toddler a tablet last week have downloaded loads of all4 to watch now

APD1981 · 25/03/2020 09:47

Good luck! Glad you've got something to entertain you!

Thanks @lillianfullstop. I've got my union onto it so we'll see. Glad you god good news about your GTT. If someone too chocolate and cake away from me as well at the moment I might go insane! 😂

MissisBee · 25/03/2020 11:47

2nd full day of working from home for me, not as stressful as day 1.
28 weeks today, into the third trimester. Now just anxiously anticipating my blood pressure to go off at some point.

Thinking I'll start getting my hospital bag together in the next few days. Glad I'd already bought maternity pads a few weeks ago - last time round, I kept sending DH out to get more and he kept coming back with breast pads 🤦. Anyone bought newborn nappies yet?

We have taken advantage of the lockdown and have finally made progress with potty training DS (although chocolate buttons have somehow become and essential feature!)

Smiffette · 25/03/2020 12:26

@MissisBee yes bought 72 pack of newborn nappies a couple weeks ago just in case!

Just making the most of the sun and getting all the baby clothes my sister in law gave me washed and dried 😍 makes it all feel very real hung out on the line!

Once that's done my next step is to make a list of the other bits I'm going to need, order them on payday, then sort hospital bag!!

I have a feeling the next 11 weeks are going to creep round so quickly! Which is scarily exciting though!

Have a scan later today in a private clinic which will be relatively quiet but the husband has made his mind that we should wear masks. Work colleagues in China suggested that I should shower again after hospital visits which I will do too. Just wanted to be as careful as we can.

Little B has been swimming around a lot and we can feel his body touching against my stomach if put hands on which is amazing feeling. He hasn't been kicking as hard as he used to and I'm hoping it's just he's grown bigger and less room for him to stretch the legs? Anyway very looking forward to seeing him later.

Hi all, I’m expecting DC2 on 7th June. Really struggling with the isolation and keeping a 23 month old entertained. Just exhausted! I hate to wish time away but June cannot come soon enough!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 25/03/2020 15:11

Hi @Juno2002 its so hard isnt it. I finish work tomorrow and will be stuck with a 3 year old for the foreseeable! At least it gives me a chance to sort the house out!

@MissisBee potty training was very much sponsored by chocolate buttons in our house. Kicking myself now that we spent our last weekend of freedom indoors potty training! Nevermind we will come out the otherside!

APD1981 · 25/03/2020 15:47

@Juno2002 we share the same due date! Welcome to the thread 😊

Gigitree · 25/03/2020 16:12

@umabb ooh where are you having your private scan? We have one booked for 4th April at window to the womb. Currently they are still open and scans are still happening, so depending on what happens between now and then we will likely still be going, as it’s a small place and relatively quiet, I also thought if the waiting room were to be busy when I got there I could just wait outside. But then my husband is worried about the sonographer themselves, I.e they will come in contact with vast amounts of people and they will be the one person I would have physical contact with, albeit them using the machine on my belly.

I keep going back and forth as to whether we should cancel or not 😞

LillianFullStop · 25/03/2020 16:24

Welcome @Juno2002!

AmyMaria2 · 25/03/2020 16:26

@Gigitree I had a 4D scan at window to the womb on Friday, hopefully yours can still go ahead x

Gigitree · 25/03/2020 16:40

@AmyMaria2 just had an email from them to say they are no longer doing 4D scans 😞
They’re just doing well being checks. We have two growth scans with the nhs in May and early June, so not sure it’s worth it now 😞

Zoey92 · 25/03/2020 18:35

Hi all, its been a little while, crazy times of course.
Closed my salon last week, very hard but obviously for the best, just waiting on the small business grant coming through from local council.
Feeling well in general, hooe and pray this has all cooled off for her arrival mid june, one can only hope!

How is everyone?

Ginfilledcats · 25/03/2020 18:41

I've been pretty calm until this week. I work in a hospital and just spoke to senior clinician who sounds terrified which has terrified me.
Thank god for Disney plus to distract myself with!!!!

Going to start getting last bits ordered I think after pay day, that will keep me occupied!

How are you doing? Sorry about your salon, awful news

mrssunshinexxx · 25/03/2020 19:21

@Ginfilledcats oh gosh what was said ? X

AmyMaria2 · 25/03/2020 20:24

@Gigitree ah no, sorry 😞 I must of got there just in time, maybe it isn't worth it if you have some scans anyway, as long as those ones definitely won't be cancelled, I have an NHS scan Monday, I'm being scanned every 2 weeks, hate the thought of spending so much time in hospital but got to do what's best for baby😬
I wouldn't of thought your nhs scans will be cancelled so at least you can look forward to seeing baby again xx

chocolate26 · 25/03/2020 22:18

I was supposed to have a 4D scan on Saturday at window to the womb but that's been cancelled! It's for the best but it's very sad, I really wanted to see baby in 4D! It's hard as it feels like so much is being taken away from us. I can't wait to hold my baby now and see him/her for the first time!

AmyMaria2 · 26/03/2020 00:19

@chocolate26 sorry yours was cancelled as well😞 it is for the best, but I know what you mean, I can't help feeling all this going on is ruining the experience of having my first baby, we're going to be strong mumas with strong babies bringing them into the world at this awful time!! X

Busylizzie85 · 26/03/2020 04:23

I think this is all an experience none of us will ever forget! I think it will make us all stronger and I know I will never take certain things for granted again.

newbyxx · 26/03/2020 07:51

I agree I'm also feeling a sadness that this is affecting our experience! My dad and partners dad are both stuck abroad and none of us are sure whether they'll make it back in time for birth, as the countries borders are closed. I had to send me OH out on Sunday to buy last of the baby clothes and was gutted I can't be doing it. Ordering the final bits for my hospital bag on Friday and buying the milk etc, feel like as everything is going on I'd rather be prepared.

Change of subject and not a nice one but is anyone experience piles? I've had awful pain the last couple of days pressure. The appear to be internal does anyone know if the ointment is safe to use? Everywhere online is saying to check with gp/midwife?

29+5 x

mrssunshinexxx · 26/03/2020 08:06

@newbyxx that is worrying I hope that do get back I am sure they will wit 10 weeks til your due date.
Piles- yes the glamour! External, using cream and suppositories not really doing much to shrink them but they aren't painful .. yet dreading the state of them after labour

My hospital has released yesterday that birthing partners basically can't step foot on the maternity ward soon as you've given birth on labour ward they have to leave and you have to go to scans alone so I've had a cry and feel shit like he is being robbed of this experience and we are together as our first baby I just can't imagine him leaving us straight after giving birth :( I of course understand why this is happening but it doesn't mean it's easy to accept x

LillianFullStop · 26/03/2020 08:26

I know it's so hard isn't it? it should be the last few weeks of excitement, looking at baby clothes, last dates with DH or catch ups with gfs before the newborn madness... I was also very active with DD1 - walking a lot in the third trimester but now cooped up at home. I somehow need to get more active as I read it helps recovery (both VB and CS) if you were active during pregnancy...

@newbyxx my Dsis was meant to come for a visit for 3 weeks in time for the birth to help with my DD1 (3 years old) but of course she can't now unless things improve significantly.

Oh no @mrssunshinexxx I'm sorry they've taken those steps already - I fear all maternity wards will go the same way eventually- I'm mentally preparing for that now. Mine have said only 1 birth partner and 1 named visitor in post natal so my DD won't be able to come and visit in hospital like I've shown her in the books.

I wish the best and easiest births in history for all of us here - with healthy babies and mums so we can all get out of hospital and safe at home with our families.

Gigitree · 26/03/2020 08:29

@AmyMaria2 exactly, I think we’ll cancel the private scan now, such a shame as we were so looking forward to seeing her in 4D

@mrssunshinexxx I had a little cry yesterday too as our hospital announced the same thing. It just feels so unfair that how last few months of pregnancy have been upended and aren’t going to be how we expected at all.
I know in the grand scheme of things the most important thing is for us and ours babies to be born safely and healthily, but it does sting a little doesn’t it?
