Ok folks here is the new thread. I have put it into ante natal again for now, we can always start a new one in the post natal forum once we have all popped.

:D Could have used that for a thread title.... Once you pop you just can't stop

Dal,
That sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing that and congrats on Ryan... Glad to hear that you are feeling good, am so nervous about mine but like you I think I am pretty fit so hopefully will be OK. x

emj23 · 12/09/2007 19:05

Many congratulations Dal, sounds like a pretty good experience! It's made me feel less nervous about possibly needing a CS actually Glad you're both doing so well.

MrsMar · 12/09/2007 19:06

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone!

Dal, what a great story, I'm so glad you had a good experience, and how wierd is it that your waters broke the day you were due to go in??? Enjoy your LO!! I'll come and compare my cs experience in a few days.

MrsFish · 12/09/2007 19:12

Dal - glad to see you back, and are having a very positive experience

I want Ben to come NOW, I just know he is going to keep me waiting

Holly - please dont be nervous, you will be fine.

Key bits of advice I have after mine.

  • talk to them during and after op. if you start feeling a little funny tell them straightawy, them drugs they get into you via IV are AMAZING!
  • take the arnica, give it to your partner and tell them it is their job to get it into you asap after op and then every 2 hours.
  • defo yes on big over stomach pants
  • definitely get a few nursing bras before you go in. My milk came in overnight and my boobs were ginormous. DH wouldnt have had a clue what to do if I had to send him out to buy some.
  • take all the pain relief post op. I (touchwood) have felt no major pain, but took everything they gave me
  • take in plenty of nightdresses - not pyjamas as the stockings you have to wear while you are in hosp are warm and jim jam bottoms just arent practical
  • but do take in a jim jam button down top for recovery as they can put you into it, get your stockings on and you wont bleed onto it since it only comes down to your hips
  • oh, and get into that shower as soon as you can and take showers and change clothes every day, try and get out of jim jams (am doing that now I am home too) and it makes me feel human!

they are my quick words of advice, hope they help!
xx

TwitmonstEr · 12/09/2007 19:15

oooooOOOOOOoooo dal, lovely to see you again. Although [ahem] Ryan? We had decided on Ryan [probably lol] so there may be two.

lovely lovely.

bit more show just now, more than before.

Em, the very best of luck for tomorrow, more positive vibes winging their way to you.

Tinkjon · 12/09/2007 20:20

Just checking in to wish MrsMar lots of luck for tomorrow - had my pre-op today and starting to feel pretty nervous now! Can't believe there's actually a baby coming out of me tomorrow....

TwitmonstEr · 12/09/2007 20:20

and more positive vibes to you.
good luck.

kinki · 12/09/2007 20:21

Many congratulations dal! So pleased all went well for you. As for calling him Ryan, (and you too twit) what a brilliant name, my ds2 is Ryan too. Every Ryan I've met is adorable, bit cheeky and mischevious and lots of fun. And they are all very, very handsome too. Ok so maybe I'm a bit biased! Well done little Ryan for feeding so well. You'll be a big boy soon in no time at all.

Mrs M and Tink, I'll be thinking of you all day tomorrow. Hope all goes to plan and you have your little babies safe in your arms very soon. Can't wait to hear your news.

And Twit, gonna be thinking of you all night! Anything else happened yet. Your little baby (?Ryan) is a little tease already isn't he?

Btw, this visitation thing. I was just about to put my 3 in the bath tonight at 6:30 when we had more unexpected guests. Turns out the little lad hadn't had tea yet so knocked something up for him. They went a few minutes ago and now dh is trying to settle 2 very noisy excitable (still dirty) boys into bed. It was lovely to see them, but it's feeling like some kind of conspiracy to stop me ever sitting down to relax. But because I'm feeling up beat today I'm putting some spin on the situation and looking it like this: I have so many visitors because I'm just so popular and everyone loves me. yeah dream on.

Ps I reckon today's the day for Kyala!

Hopeitwontbebig · 12/09/2007 21:00

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW MRSMAR AND TINKJON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you both manage to get a good night's sleep.

Dal, lovely to have you back. Thank you so much for telling us about your experience and giving top tips. I'll go to Matalan on Saturday and buy some more nighties. I had bought a pair of jim jams, but they're too small. From what you're saying nighties are the way to go. How funny your waters going on the day of your cs! So glad you're enjoying Ryan.

Good luck twit, hope if your pains start again tonight, something actually comes of it!

Where is Kyala???? Is she having her LO??

Rin23 · 12/09/2007 22:45

Hello all ? can?t believe I spend a day away and it?s all taken off here!

Anyway, just to say loads of luck for those heading into hospital for their CS in the next few days, keep us posted with the good news.

Kinki ? glad you?re feeling more positive even if you are still having lots of guests ? I?m sure you?re right that it?s about your popularity

HIWBB ? hope you are feeling better ? ((((hugs))))

Mrs Bumblebee ? I could totally relate to your post about baby nerves ? it?s good to hear I?m not the only one feeling like this!

Twit and Sophus ? hope things are coming along ? good luck girls!

emj ? good luck with your ECV!

I have very little news ? am chilling out at home wondering if anything will happen (not due for 9 days), going for walks and to the cinema. Saw Knocked up today which seemed rather appropriate! Quite nice really so in no rush! But I am suffering with horrendous heartburn at night and getting through gaviscon like water? ish. Kicking myself as only just heard you can get it on prescription ? that stuff is expensive!

Anyway, haven?t eaten for a couple of hours now so hoping tonight might be better. Also DH is away tonight so I can flail around the bed which is better for my carpel tunnel which has returned with a vengeance?

Hope everyone has a good night.

TOD · 12/09/2007 23:42

Hi all, best of luck to those of you heading in tomorrow for your CS...will be thinking of ye!!

TwitmonstEr · 13/09/2007 08:29

good luck to all that need it today.

am at home remember so hopefully will be back later.

Rosie2404 · 13/09/2007 08:30

Good luck all who are gonna be meeting their little ones soon!
I feel like all I ever do is come on here and moan but here I go with another rant !!!
I had a sweep on Monday and midwife said I was 2cms dilated, then Tuesday I had show so I thought everything was moving along well. Then yesterday I went to see consultant and she wanted to break my waters to induce labour because Ive got obstetric cholestasis (not sure if that is how it is spelt) and I really wanted a VBAC. God knows what she was doing to me - felt like she was trying to get both arms and her head up there!!! Ive never had an internal thats been painful before - obviously uncomfortable but I was practically crying yesterday and trying to jump off the table. She said I am not dilated at all and so she couldnt attempt to break my waters and therefore I have to have c-sec tomorrow. I know this is for the safety of the baby but I cant help thinking that if someone a bit more gentle had done my exam yesterday they might have been able to get to my cervix to break my waters. So am booked in for tomorrow afternoon......

Rosie2404 · 13/09/2007 08:31

Good luck twit - didnt think you'd still be here! Big hugs to you.

Chattyhan · 13/09/2007 09:37

Hello everyone!

Rosie, MrsMar, Tinkjon good luck for your c-sections. Eagerly awaiting news!

TwitmonstEr - how exciting! sorry this one seems slower i hope you are speeding towards a happy ending right now

Kinki - i'm glad you're doing better and investigating your options i really hope things are sorted soon. Re- suprise guests why don't you put a sign on your front door saying no entry without prior appointment!

Mrs Bumblebee and everyone else involved in the fanjo rummage discussion. PMSL how hilarious

HIWBB - great news about private doc fighting DH's cause. As long as he doesn't forget about you. I hope you're feeling happier today? Bloody hormones

Well not much news from me! -

DP's new boss is trying to persuade him not to take paternity leave! He had 2 weeks booked and 2 weekes holiday from oct 1st. New boss says as long as he's up to date with months quota he can go! He started mon ffs how is he supposed to do a months work with edd on sunday! Really don't need stress like this. So i'm having to enlist MIL and mum to come and visit to help me and be there in case things happen for DS and to get me to hospital but they both work and it's rather awkward for them to come. MIL is 2hrs away and a teacher mon-thurs so she's coming fri/sat (DP is djing both nights) and Mum is 4hrs away and runs holiday home complex on her own so she is busy fri/sat but can get away early in the week with work on phone! i could really do with lo making an appearance sooner rather than later!

Got lost in the woods yesterday! went to Fleet pond for a picnic but having never been there before didn't realise it was a massive wood as well. Parked car, walked in direction of pond and 45 mins later in middle of wood with no signs! Completely lost. Saw some joggers and a dog walker in the wood who were extremely helpful when they saw my bump! Mum kept saying your going to go into labour! Did laugh about it but after walking about 3 miles with DS and mum eventually found the car still with picnic intact and ate next to the car! So absolutely exhausted but still no lo!

Starting to feel fed up and short tempered again after a couple of weeks of feeling good.

MrsBumblebee · 13/09/2007 10:11

Morning all.

Dal, it's good to have you back. Thanks for the update on Ryan - it sounds like you're all doing brilliantly!

Twit, HOW EXCITING!! Good luck!

Also best of luck to everyone having CS or ECV today. Look forward to hearing your news .

Rosie, poor you . Sounds like the MW was pretty rough on you, though I've heard others say as well that having their water broken was a surprisingly violent experience, so maybe it was just never going to happen given your level of dilation. One of my NCT class had cholestasis, so if you're anything like her you've probably been having dreadful itching as well, so double . It's a shame you might not get the VBAC you wanted, but it sounds like the best option for your LO, and just think how soon you'll be meeting him/her .

Chatty, I hope DP manages to get at least some leave. And glad you didn't have to give birth in the woods .

Well, still not a dickybird around here. MW appointment this afternoon, hopefully with 'my' MW who I haven't seen for a month, so maybe some news then. No-one's mentioned sweep or induction yet, but who knows? I rather feel like, because my pg has been so straightforward, none of the MWs have paid me that much attention - this is probably just as it should be, but I've got visions of myself sitting here at six weeks overdue, quiety waiting to go into labour, before one of the MWs finally says, 'Oh, haven't you had that baby yet?' .

40+3

ccpink · 13/09/2007 11:04

Morning all,

Twit - good luck I love the exciting updates!!!

Hi dal - nice to have you back especially to hear such positive things!

chattty - nightmare about paternity - I'm still confused about what dh will get as he has started new job - seems a bit mean that they can suddenly change their mind. He'll have to try and stick to his guns.

Good luck to all the c-s'ers today - it seems to be loads at once or maybe my brain is befuddled!

I'm 38 weeks now and mw said yesterday I was 4/5ths engaged. Sounds good - I think! I am determined to do the cooking for freezer today - am about a month behind the rest of you - but got some plastic pots so no excuse now!!!

Love to all
cc

Hopeitwontbebig · 13/09/2007 12:48

Good afternoon lovelies.

Twit, how exciting. Keep us posted when you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rosie, sorry to hear that your VBAC plans have gone out the window. I remember having my waters broken with DS2, by a doctor with big fat fingers, OMG the pain! It was fine when the midwife broke them with DS1 Good luck for tomorrow and hugs to you. x

ccpink, enjoy your cooking day. I've run out of steam on that front, besides, I've also run out of room in the freezer!

MrsBumbleBee, good luck with your appointment this afternoon, I do hope you get to see your midwife this time.

Chatty, funny about you getting lost in the woods. That happened to me a few years ago, BUT I wasn't 9 months pregnant at the time! That's annoying about DP's paternity leave, difficult one as it's a new job , hope you get all the cover you need sorted. x

TOD, good to hear from you again.

We had a physio appointment this morning that went really well. She's so excited about DH's arm, looked like bloody hard work, DH's head kept on going purple! So wierd to think that the next time I see her I'll have a baby with me , very surreal.

On that front, I am in a better frame of mind. Thanks to you ladies yesterday , need to keep thinking of all the positives. x x x x x x

Off for coffee and cakes with the girls. Our last Thursday pm 'fix' before baby!

spraklynewthing · 13/09/2007 15:11

Hi All,

This is spraklynewthings husband simon. We had our little girl Georgina Elizabeth on Sunday 9th Sept at 3.28 by emergency ceasar. She weighed 8lb 2oz. Sarah told me that some of you ladies who know her story would find her ceasar funny. At the last minute the doctors deciided the baby could not be born the natural way.

Both of them are doing really well and Georgie is beatuiful and a very good and hungry girl. Sarah said she will messgae when she can and wishes everyone good luck.

Thank you

Simon
