Ok folks here is the new thread. I have put it into ante natal again for now, we can always start a new one in the post natal forum once we have all popped.

:D Could have used that for a thread title.... Once you pop you just can't stop

Sophus, WOW, well done you, you! You've matched my biggest baby!!! DS1 was 10lb 10oz exactly!!!!!!! Congrats. Hope you're managing to get some rest now!

Also congrats to all else who have been popping like mad these past few days. We need a serious update to our list!

Well as you can see I'm having a bit of trouble sleeping at the moment! Sorry I haven't posted for a while, it's been a busy weekend doing last minute bits and bobs.

I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO HAVE A BABY SOME TIME LATER ON TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

OK, deep breath.

Had a nice meal out with DH last night, but came home at about 9:30 because we were both knackered! . I didn't quite do the taking it easy thing you're supposed to do day before cs!

My biggest fear right now is that bub has turned head down... they scan before op. I'm not sure what would happen then because the original plan in Banbury was to do cs anyway because of history of big babies and stupid bladder. Hmm, fingers crossed on that one. I think she's still breech, still been getting horrid kicks down below.

Dal, re moving into nursery. I have to confess to moving my boys in to their own rooms both times a few days after they came home. I just wasn't getting ANY sleep at all, it's incredible how noisy a baby can be. Our walls were so thin, and their bedroom was right next to ours. Hope that helps.

Kinki, if it's ok with you, I'll use you as my text buddy to get the news over. It'll either be DH texting or me, depending on whether I can use my phone or not.

Kyala, hope things get moving for you today love. x x

HammerHeadShark - GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CS TODAY!!, I'll be thinking of you!

Well, wish me luck ladies..eek!

Damn it, I'm really hungry but can't eat anything . Ooh, a nice bowl of Cheerios would be lovely right now!

HammerHeadShark · 17/09/2007 06:51

Congratulations!!!

Edie - well done, welcome to Millie, might have another one later today as that is near the top of our list, lovely name

Chatty, congrats to you - details please!

Tinkjon - welcome to Will (spooky that's one of our top boys names so I may look like a total copycat whatever we have.

hannahsaunt - congrats and welcome to Jacob - wow what a speedy labour - respect.

Sophus - glad your c/s for your lovely bouncing big boy went so well and welcome to Linus.

To all those of you still waiting, particularly at 40+ hope things start moving soon.

Have just phoned ward to find out they have got a bed so will be going in for my section in about half an hour very excited to meet the little person, and have just had a last cuddle with my girls before they are no longer my babies but my grown up children (at nearly 3 years old)!

HIWBB - good luck today - will be thinking of you today too. Also thirsty and ravenous, trying to keep away from yesterdays left over roast dinner. Will try and get DH to post as soon as he can.

dal21 · 17/09/2007 07:30

GOOD LUCK HOPEY!!! AND Hammer!!
Cannot wait to hear both your updates. Thanks also to you all on feedback ref the rooming in. Am going to stick with it a while and see if I get used to the noises/ compromise with using ear plugs maybe in one ear...if I can get to one month and reevaluate, then will feel better about it all.

Hope everyone else is well - congrats to new arrivals, glad to see another positive CS story! Keep em coming.

I am off pain relief totally now, had cut back massively the last few days. I am still feeling tired, energy levels are noehere near normal - but currently have my mum to help and then DH takes off his paternity leave, so will have support til LO is 3 weeks old, by then, will hopefully have more energy.

Hope everyone else who is waiting pops soon! Am sending you all birthing vibes.

Right am off to grab a shower whilst Ryan is still asleep

xx

MrsFish · 17/09/2007 08:10

Congrats Sophus - blimey 10 pound 10 I wouldn't fancy pushing that out, ds1 was bad enough at 8 pound 3

Good Luck HIWBB and Hammer, here's hoping for a relatively relaxing birth

Mrs F - fab bump pic! How are you feeling??

Everyone else - I hope I havent been too presumptuous, but have started a thread on the postnatal board....for us to start posting on there once we are done here. Although we may find that posting on here til everyone has popped is preferable and then we can all cross over en masse...in which case the below link will die. Will leave it with you all.

kinki · 17/09/2007 09:44

Good luck Hammer and Hopey! Today's the day! Looking forward to hearing your news.

And congratulations to Chatty. That seemed to happen a bit quickly! Was it you who said that ds1 was born on his due date too? What's the chances of 2 turning up when they are due? I hope you are both doing well. And that dh gets his paternity leave sorted so he can spend time with you (it was you wasn't it who's dh had a new job with sales targets etc?)

Well done to Sophus and Linus too. He sounds a bonny, healthy baby. Did you know he was going to be that size? It sounds like your cs went like a dream - just as it should.

And also congratulations to HAunt and Jacob. Gee that was quick. I'm sure you could have managed a trip to the supermarket in between your busy day giving birth! Joking aside, I hope all is well, and well done!

I still can't get over all the gorgeous names we've chosen for our babies. Don't they all sound so fab?

MrsBumblebee · 17/09/2007 10:07

Congratulations again to all new arrivals! Gosh, I feeling like I'm writing that sentence about every hour now!!

Well done Sophus - I'm at 10 pounds 10. Please god don't let mine be that big!! If he is, I DEFINITELY want a section. I love the name Linus .

And Hannahsaunt, I'm so of your nice quick labour. I hope I can talk about mine so casually afterwards! And another lovely name.

MrsF, loving your new picture.

GOOD LUCK to Hopey and Hammer - sending you good birth vibes and looking forward to having you back!

No news from me. 41 weeks today!

MrsFish · 17/09/2007 10:11

Dal - I'm doing fine thanks, in fact I feel quite good considering it nearly over, I'm sleeping relatively ok, and I have definitely conquered the heartburn at night by not eating after 6pm DS is actually being a little angel at the moment, it also helps that he is now doing 3 nursery sessions a week now too which gives me more chance to relax With the help of DH we are finally getting the house straight too, keeping on top of housework and sorting out cupboards etc. seems he is nesting too

Glad to hear you are doing well, all be it a little tired, but that's to be expected

EdieMcredie · 17/09/2007 10:29

Hi to everyone. Hope all those still pregnant are coping ok and all those with babies are happy and healthy too!

Having a few problems bfing but the support on the feeding threads is amazing.

Can't believe how much I love my daughter!!

xx

kelmcd · 17/09/2007 10:32

Good morning everyone!
Firstly Congratulations to all the new mummies and bubbies
And hope all of those still waiting, your LO's make their appearances soon, safe and sound.
Arben is now 10 days old, time has flown by! I am having my first day at home alone, DH is back to work and my parents have gone up north for a week.
I have found the feeding quite hard, using sheilds at the moment, very sore nipples(sorry if TMI), but they dont seem to bother him! Other than that he has been really good tho he still has his awake time between 11pm-2am, same as when i was pregnant
Still having my hormonal moments where nothing seems to stop the tears, think being over tired doesn't help. Still finding it all a bit overwhelming at times, he is all ours but all in all, i love being a mum
Well enough of that, hope everyone has a peaceful day, take care

kelmcd · 17/09/2007 10:48

Just added a pic of the wee man

MrsFish · 17/09/2007 10:50

Thankyou

Tinkjon · 17/09/2007 11:47

Congratulations to all the new mummies!!!

Lots of luck to Hope & Hammer for today - thinking of you all! (and empathising about wanting a big bowl of Cheerios on the morning!)

Amyclaramum, I think that's perfectly normal about your scar. My scar is too well-hidden by my horrendous overhang for me to need a pillow though It's my stomach muscles, rather than my scar that cause me pain. And goodness me, the wind pains are still there 5 days on - ouch!!! Anyone else have this?

Well done to those of you who are pesevering with BFing, I think I'm about to give up so I'm very but [proud] of you all. Kelmcd, thanks for your post on my other thread!

EdieMcredie · 17/09/2007 12:34

Tinkjon-why is it you are thinking of giving up BFing? Is there any help you can get on the threads here? Kinki has given me some great advice and there are so many on here who will try to help...

dal21 · 17/09/2007 12:52

Tink - agree, why are you thinking about giving up? if thats what you want to do, then fine - but if not, then do let us know why you are thinking about stopping. Hopefully we can help.

Tinkjon · 17/09/2007 14:26

Basically, I just hate BFing I find it INCREDIBLY hard, outrageously painful and it's just constant, literally constant, 24 hours a day. I know it's supposed to be like that in the early days but I've had no sleep for 5 nights and a DD1 who I'm unable to give any attention to because I'm constantly feeding Will. With FF then DH can take over sometimes and I can actually spend time with DD again... everything is just so painful after the section and if I weren't BFing then it would just be one (well, two!) fewer things that would be in pain. And I could actually have some semblance of a normal life again [selfish emoticon]. There's just been so many worries and problems (won't latch on - mw's say he's latched fine, everyone else says he isn't). But every time I think about how tiny he is and how he probably just wants to suck on his mummy and not some silly bottle, then I just can't stop crying about it I feel bad because I'm choosing what's easiest for me over what's best for him Sorry girls, hormonal and insane...

kinki · 17/09/2007 14:43

Tink, you're probably no more insane or hormonal than me, or the rest of us for that matter.

Your friend twilite on the other thread had a really good and valid point. The choices you make for Will are about what's best for the whole family. You're not making this choice just for you. You're thinking of your dd too, and how things will be better for her.

I don't think a baby really knows the difference between a tit and a teat. All little Will wants is a full tummy and a snuggly cuddle from his mum. And there's more than one way to deliver that.

I've been really worried I've been saying the wrong things today, but I'm going to be brave and say something else. Over the weekend I gave Liam a dummy. He just wants to suck all the time, and I was feeding him lots and lots and lots. But he was overflowing and positing/being sick a lot. So I figured he just wanted to suck rather than actually being hungary. So he'd suck on the dummy for about 5 mins at a go, and settle back down again. I know its controversial, and not for everyone, but it seems to do the trick with Liam. Gee, I'm putting my neck on the line today!

How's your tummy been today? Any better?

MrsFish · 17/09/2007 14:44

What's best for you, is what is ultimately best for him, just remember that. He will sense if you are upset whilst feeding and will act accordingly. Don't feel like a failure, you have given it your best shot. I am only intending bf for a week or so and then changing to ff, for the same reasons you have stated. If Ben feeds anything like Sam used to I will be chained to the sofa, and with a toddler I just don't want to do that, I want to be able to spend time with Sam too. And if anyone says that you can read to him whilst feeding then that's a no too as he just won't sit still for more than a minute. Anyway, no need to get upset, there is no right or wrong way about it all, just what is best for you both

OP posts:
MrsFish · 17/09/2007 14:46

Regarding dummies, Miriam Stoppard was on This morning last week, and she said there is nothing wrong with them, and if it helps your lo and you get some peace and comfort then use them I intend to

OP posts:
MrsBumblebee · 17/09/2007 14:59

Tink, sorry you're finding the bf-ing such a nightmare . Sound like everyone else is already giving you really good advice, and I'm sure whatever decision you come to will be the best for you and your family . And remember, we're always here if you need a chat or a moan.

I'm having an ok day, but starting to fret a bit about the sweep I'm booked in for tomorrow. I've been reading other MN threads about them, and quite a lot of people are saying they can be excruciatingly painful, that they don't do any good unless you were about to go into labour anyway, and that you should leave them until as late as possible (I'll be 41+1 tomorrow, so still 6 days to go before hospital want to induce). Others say they were not too bad and really helped bring on labour. I can't remember whether anyone on here has had one, either this time around or with previous LOs. Any wise words from anyone??

kelmcd · 17/09/2007 15:02

Well, i must be a terrible mum and midwife then! I've used the lot, dummies, bottles, sheilds You and your baby and your family are most important right now, what is best for you isn't necessarily best for someone else, listen to your heart, what will be will be please do not let anyone let you feel like you are doing wrong by your baby, you do know best.

kelmcd · 17/09/2007 15:06

MrsBumblebee - I had a sweep on the monday and went into labour on the wednesday night, it wasnt too uncomfortable, whether it was just a coinsidence i will never know, i also had a sweep in the early stages of my labour (bout 2cms) and boy did that one work, contractions a go-go
