Oh girls I'm getting stressed about giving birth now :( I'm expecting a c section as the baby is breach and measuring large. My midwife and consultant apps next week have been changed to telephone appointments so I feel like nothings going to change! I felt like the labour ward would be really protected but there's cases of corona in our area now which will spread like wildfire as one was a school child and a death in one of our trust hospitals :( what happens if I need to stay in for 3 days and we're in lock down 😩😩😩

facevalue · 23/03/2020 02:40

@november90 oh babe- i'm awake stressing too
you are not alone. we had 10 deaths in the local hospital ( im not having the baby there). i'm freaking out about going into labour early. i'm terrified that something bad with happen to my husband then i'm screwed. my inlaws are isolating themselves and my family can't fly to me anymore.

i'm definitely getting heartburn again and nausea - but who wouldn't with all the stress atm🥺😞

facevalue · 23/03/2020 04:32

i can't sleep - feeling so anxious ( headache and nausea) 😞

Lu1u · 23/03/2020 06:32

Morning ladies, hope those of you who couldn't sleep last night managed to get some rest and I hope you get some further clarification about csections asap too.

@Reds2007 yes I am practicing social distancing (almost 2 weeks now as my work let me start working from home white early on) but my partner has still been going to work as normal :/ he will have to keep going until they close officially!

Sunshine8888 · 23/03/2020 13:53

Ladies, I know this is really stressful but we really need to take it just one day at a time. Getting so stressed and anxious about situations that are outside our control is not helping anyone, including your babies. I am terrified like all of you and get anxious but if you’re finding it completely overwhelming take a break from social media and the news, go and sit in your garden and soak up some sunshine, do some yoga, bake, cook! Anything to take your mind off the present even if just for a tiny bit. Be kind to yourselves and give yourself a break x

Rebecca612 · 23/03/2020 14:23

Fab ideas/message @sunshine8888 Smile

woollycat · 23/03/2020 15:24

@Sunshine8888 I don't have a garden! 😀 and shops have run out of flour so baking is easier said than done 😛 but yes agree with the overall message ☺️

My toddler has started coughing and wheezing so I've had to put my midwife appt off for two weeks. Can't help but feel a bit gutted 😩 just wanted to hear his little heart beat and forget the world for a minute! Also freaking out that 2 weeks from now is APRIL and I'll be 33 weeks!? Where the bloody hell is time disappearing too!?

november90 · 23/03/2020 16:44

Omg girls just to add to my misery... took my sons pram out of storage today to have professionally cleaned and it's covered in black mould! They said there's no way of cleaning black mould and as it was a cream pram it would stain so I've just had to go out and buy a new bloomin pram!!!!!! Credit card job. Absolutely gutted. Single mummy of 2 and my clutch went last week and now this :( my new pram won't be delivered for 2 weeks either so anxious it won't get here if we lock down.
I also had sky q fitted yesterday and for some reason they have knocked the tv signal off in our bedrooms so we can only watch tv downstairs. Something very minor but me and my son have been lying in bed in the mornings watching TV and now we're confined to our downstairs and my day will officially start at 6am every day. Something very minor I know, and I know it's ridiculous to even being this up but I just feel like everything is going wrong!
My consultation app has also been cancelled, no news on my midwife app yet :(
Whhhhyyyyyyyy is all of this happening 😢

Emmacb82 · 23/03/2020 17:55

@Clairesoph we are doing the same! Well me and my little boy were anyway but he woke up coughing this morning so my husband is stuck with us now too.
My work phoned again today and said it was fine for me to carry on working 😳 Even though the new guidelines say in 3rd trimester you shouldn’t have any patient contact. So got to sort sick certificate out.
I’ve heard nothing from midwives about appointments etc, although my next one isn’t till mid April so I guess they are contacting people who’s are sooner first.

Sunshine8888 · 23/03/2020 18:23

@woollycat, what is with the floor shortage?! My husband went to 4 different shops to try and get me some and came back empty handed! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Layladylay234 · 23/03/2020 19:52

Hi,I just wanted to drop back on and update anyone about the situation for my elective C section which I'm hoping to be having at Nottingham University Hospitals. I'm hoping this might reassure @facevalue and @november90.

I rang to tell them that my notes needed updating as my local trust had done a GTT test and I had been diagnosed as having gestational diabetes. Whilst on the phone I explained I was meant it be coming for my appointment in 4 weeks to get a date for my elective C section and the reason I had chosen a c section was because of birth trauma the first time. I asked was it likely my elective C section would be cancelled? Midwife replied not necessarily but things were changing all the time. That what she told me today might not be true in the next 4 weeks. But at this point, electives were going ahead. She also said this would be discussed at my consultant appointment which would defo still happen.

Tbh,I think at this point,I've now given up worrying about it. They could give me a guarantee that I'll get my elective and a week before, things could happen which change the goalposts. There's literally nothing I can do at this point. Except hope for the best.

I hope this clarifies/reassures you guys. I just wanted to keep you updated on the situation as I found it.

GinUnicorn · 23/03/2020 20:07

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone well. So stressful right now. It can only get better right!

Clairesoph · 23/03/2020 21:03

At my last midwife appt I had a very nervous, very lovely trainee. She had never taken blood from a patient before and I was her first. She was very shaky and bruised me black and blue. Anyway, my midwife always sends me home with my wee sample to wash out myself and re use the pot.

Today, I needed the number to call the midwife so i fetched my notes from the car and the trainee woman didn't put the lid on my wee properly so now my green notes STINK OF PISS 😩🤣 I'm so mortified and fuming

Rebecca612 · 24/03/2020 09:58

Oh @Clairesoph I’m sorry that is awful bit did give me a little giggle. If you don’t laugh you cry! Can you give them a call and see if they can give you a new folder at least?

I hope everyone is feeling okay today x

Clairesoph · 24/03/2020 10:01

@Rebecca612 I was hoping it might make somebody smile 🤪 I see if I can get a new set maybe, I don't even know! 😅 how awful

facevalue · 24/03/2020 14:20

we are so bored - we played, we coloured, we sat in the garden, hide and seek!

🤯 what am i meant to do for the rest of the day now ( without leaving the house or meeting other ppl) 🥺...

Raindancer411 · 24/03/2020 15:34

My bump is really aching today :( Tried going in the garden but I just cannot get comfy.

keepingiteasy · 24/03/2020 15:52

i'm 33 weeks and i just found out that my 34 week midwife appointment AND my 36 week scan have both been cancelled. i haven't had a scan since 20 weeks. :(

i found a clinic that does private scans, but i was wondering if i should book a scan for when i'm closer to 36 weeks, or should i just go get the scan done asap? I'm just worried that they might close anytime!

november90 · 24/03/2020 17:36

All my apps have been cancelled too. I had my consultant app over the phone yesterday! I'm so sad for our pregnancies to be ending like this...
I'm feeling SO isolated. I really get cabin fever easily, I'm not on any shape or form a stay at home kind of girl and I absolutely adore my parents but 3 weeks of just them and my 3 year old is tough. Just wish I didn't feel so alone :(

Raindancer411 · 24/03/2020 17:50

I had my consultant app over fone but so far my next scan hasn't been cancelled but it is a growth scan as baby is small (so maybe they think it's a needs must?)

Emmacb82 · 24/03/2020 18:27

I haven’t heard anything about appointments yet but mine aren’t till mid April so guess I’ll find out soon. I understand why they’ve had to do these things, but the appointments are there to pick up potential problems.
I have felt utterly miserable today. I get very depressed being indoors all the time and so usually plan my weeks by meeting friends, work and lunches. Now there’s nothing. Nothing to look forward to. No end in sight. No guarantees anyone will even be able to meet the baby once it’s born. I hate being negative but I’m really feeling it today. I know we are lucky because we are indoors and safe and we have these beautiful babies growing. But so sad for the way it should have been x

november90 · 24/03/2020 19:11

@Emmacb82 I feel exactly the same. I keep holding onto 3 weeks but realistically they will probably extend it! I just feel so isolated. Going through heartbreak at this time is just the worst timing as well :( (husband left me at 24 weeks completely out of the blue!).

I also cannot stop comfort eating! I was quite healthy before all of this and now I must average in 10 biscuits a day plus more!

Moongirl10 · 24/03/2020 20:45

@Emmacb82 I feel exactly the same. And my work has not allowed me to work from home and so I’ve had no choice but to take mat leave early. I feel so down about everything and I’m living in a different country to my parents so it’s just so hard and to think they won’t be able to travel to meet the baby. It’s still freezing here so can’t even enjoy my back garden.

Moongirl10 · 25/03/2020 00:46

Double post sorry but just wondering what everyone is doing to pass the time if you’re at home? I have around ten weeks at home before first baby is due and struggling to think of things to keep me busy.
