@LillianFullStop not planning on travelling anywhere, but if I was I would probably rethink, just because different places are taking different action with the virus, I'd hate to be stuck somewhere or illl away from home, especially as I'm nervous enough about birth and things anyway!! You might be fine and have a lovely time, I'm just overly anxious 🙈 xx

@umabb Ive had palpatations for the last few months. It's quite unsettling but Ive had an ecg, echo and 24 hr heart monitor and there are no heart issues. I find when Im slouching on the sofa, the angle brings them on but other than that, totally random.

Thw MW told me not to worry if I woke up on my back. Apparently its us it affects not the baby. You can prop yourself up and sleep on your back according to the mw, so long as You arent flat on your back.

Ive literally not got one item ready for Bambino. Im too scared. The thought stresses me and its probably superstitious which I never normally entertain, but still. Think I'll look at prams this weekend and maybe shop over Easter.
Anyone traveling might be worth checking with the airline as some don't allow you to fly after 28 weeks. I should be flying back to Ireland next week for my Mammy's anniversary but after a horribly uncomfortable incident at Christmas I resigned myself to not fly again during pregnancy.

My NCT class doesn't start until end April. Feels a bit late.

Who was a lovely lady with the contractions a few weeks ago? Ive been wondering how she is but Baby Brain is blocking my memory.

RPPs · 12/03/2020 04:07

Also, because clearly Ive not written eniugh above... I've been waking with cramps in my calf. They disappear when I point my toes to my heart but I feel this is just the start. Also lower back and coxis pain when I sit on a chair for a while. Started using a coxis cushion which is fab.

Gigitree · 12/03/2020 05:20

@rpps I’ve been wondering about her too! I think it was @Twittlebee ❤️

APD1981 · 12/03/2020 07:05

Urgh. I'm so poorly with my 2nd stinking cold of this pregnancy. Prior to getting pregnant it was years since having colds as bad as this. I honestly don't know how I will get through the day at work. I feel I have no choice but to go in though. Under normal circumstances I'd dose myself up with everything possible and I'm really missing not being able to do that now! I never realised what pregnant women had to go through before. A huge newfound respect!

newbyxx · 12/03/2020 08:14

Have my gtt test today and I'm starving already! Won't be able to eat till atleast midday which doesn't help as my nausea seems to be inching back in when I'm hungry! Also have my 28 week app, had my bump measured on Sunday so I'm interested to see how much growth there is if any in 4 days when they measure today. A day off work atleast, will get a big well deserved lunch and chill on the sofa this afternoon! X

@RPPs I've also been getting the cramp in one calf why does it happen ?! It kills !!

umabb · 12/03/2020 09:07

@RPPs thanks for letting me know. I've been trying to experiment - have less of coffee, less of sugary food at certain times. Mine usually start 11am and last for an hour or so. Yesterday I had decaf coffee and the heart rate didn't go that high. Not sure if it's strictly linked to that but I'm trying again today. Hopefully it's nothing too x

@newbyxx good luck with the GTT, I have mine on 2nd April and I’m dreading it as I feel so sick in the mornings at the moment and I really think the waiting around plus a disgustingly sugary drink is going the be the last thing I’ll want to do!

Let us know how you get on. Do you have an iPad loaded with films or a book to keep you company while you wait?

Magpiefeather · 12/03/2020 09:27

Oh the cramps! I haven’t had them yet but did last pregnancy and it was so painful. I have heard bananas are good for them? Not sure if it’s an old wives tale??!!

I am really worried today. I’ve had such horrific constipation, the lactulose did help but I keep forgetting to take it and had a reeeeaaaalllly painful time on the loo yesterday Blush then afterwards feeling a bit of a bulge coming out of vagina, so now I’m super worried I’m developing a prolapse. Will have to make a GP appointment but it has me really worried now! I was all confident in my decision to go for another vaginal birth but if at 26 weeks I’m already developing issues when pushing a poo out how is my body going to react to pushing a baby out?!! I suspect I’ll have to have another chat with a consultant about options.

Although to be fair I have also been a bit lax with my pelvic floor exercises so since yesterday I have been paying particular attention to them. The bulge has gone now and all feels normal down there so whatever it is I think it’s minor... maybe if I successfully sort the constipation out I’ll be ok???! Too hopeful?!

newbyxx · 12/03/2020 10:05

@Gigitree so far so good I actually feel fine, just had 3 blood samples taken and the drink really isn't that bad! wasn't overly sweet and not at all as bad as I thought it would be, now I'm just having the boring 2 hour wait before 1 more blood test x

UKtoSK · 12/03/2020 11:03

@umabb I’ve also had heart palpitations for a few months. I’ve noticed I feel it more when I lie on my right rather than my left. Also if I get too warm. I had it worse a couple of months before getting pregnant and worked out it was my prenatals so I stopped taking them and it went away. when I got pregnant I changed to a different kind.

@APD1981 I hope your cold clears up soon! It’s so much worse when pregnant isn’t it? I had a cold a few weeks ago and after it cleared up I got a sinus infection which took a couple of weeks to clear completely.

I have a consultation with my birth centre’s head midwife on Monday about going the completely natural birth route. I’m really excited about it. Unfortunately because of Coronavirus my husband can’t come in with me though.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/03/2020 11:07

@Magpiefeather that sounds painful my constipation seems to be better but my piles are now worse THE JOYS so I've got some cream to pick up from chemist that the doctor has prescribed I'm also going to get some witch hazel

I'm also useless at ding my pelvic floors but when my piles got a lot worse I am in the mindset I need to try get sorted as otherwise I dread to think the state of me after labour

UKtoSK · 12/03/2020 11:08

Oh, and we had our cot delivered today! Put it together to make sure there are no problems and of course our cats immediately got in. Also had a bunch of baby clothes from Next arrive yesterday and they’re soooooo cute I can’t handle it 😍

@mrssunshinexxx hahaha cats are so predictable

Magpiefeather · 12/03/2020 12:20

@mrssunshinexxx sorry to hear you’re still suffering Sad really hope you feel improvements soon! Pregnancy is so glamorous isn’t it? Where’s that bloody glow we are promised?!!

Haha the cats - hilarious! Ours did the same with DDs snuzpod last time round, we had to peg a muslin over the top in the end - didn’t want her to claim it as hers!!

Your cot looks lovely @UKtoSK

Blizy · 12/03/2020 12:35

Laughing at the cats, they are a pain in the butt!
My cat used to sleep in the Pram basket, He often joined us on a walk, I'd only noticed when his wee ears would pop up!

mrssunshinexxx · 12/03/2020 13:01

@Blizy that's funny

@Magpiefeather the Muslin is a good idea as obviously I don't want him thinking it's his we have had the spare room/nursery door shut for last week as been decorating and that's where he usually would sleep

It's not glam isit I try not to moan too much to hubby as I worry the last trimester is going to be the hardest x

chocolate26 · 12/03/2020 13:22

@mrssunshinexxx @UKtoSK your cats are so funny! I have two dogs, one is a small sausage dog and I'm sure he's going to get in the bouncy chair once we have it! He'd definitely get in our snuzpod if he could jump that high 😃

@newbyxx glad to hear it wasn’t as bad as you/we thought!

Hope you’re feeling ok now after it and you had a nice lunch to make up for it. Fingers crossed you get a good result!

I had to meet with a consultant anaesthetist today and he was so negative and laughed at me when I said I wanted a water birth (I was automatically referred to an anaesthetist due to my high BMI)
I came out of the appointment and sobbed in my car because he just made me feel like total shit 😢

APD1981 · 12/03/2020 16:49

@UKtoSK thanks. I've managed to survive the day and now I'm just lying on my bed trying to recover some energy. Roll on this time tomorrow!

Loving the photos of the cats! I have set up the crib and bouncer chair in the baby's room and I was convinced my 2 cats would be sleeping in them but they've not been interested at all yet. My mum got me a cat net, though, for when baby is here, just in case!

Cornishbumpkin · 12/03/2020 17:59

So sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience @Gigitree I didn't think high BMI meant you couldn't have a water birth!!

I had my GTT yesterday, was absolutely fine and drink didn't taste that bad. Doing my last set of nights this week then only day shifts until mat leave Grin

Gigitree · 12/03/2020 20:48

Thanks @Cornishbumpkin
I don’t think it does. I think is depends on the NHS trust you are a part of. They haven’t explicitly said I can’t have a water birth, and I don’t think it’s the anaesthetists decision to make, I think he was just being a knob and laughing like ‘oh everyone says they want a water birth and then they come to me begging for an epidural’
I don’t want an epidural if I don’t need one, but I just got automatically referred to him for an assessment purely based on my BMI.

Oh that’s fab! I’m glad your GTT went well! Fingers crossed mine is the same in a few weeks!

Wow I can’t believe you’ve been doing night shifts up until now! You’re a super star I don’t think I would cope!
