@APD1981 and @AmyMaria2 I bought one of these you can get them cheaper than the price listed and money off if it’s our first order, I found the padding on the sides really helps with the pain at night! Use it with my massive pregnancy pillow and it does help.

KLS02 · 28/02/2020 10:34

thank you @APD1981, it has been hard but we’re coping x

that looks really good, I’m struggling to sleep lately i might have to get one @Busylizzie85

AmyMaria2 · 28/02/2020 11:23

@APD1981 it's awful so annoying and when I get up in the morning it stays for ages, so painful 😩 my pregnancy pillow is usually thrown out it doesn't help with the hip pain at all!

@Busylizzie85 thank you I'm willing to try anything, it doesn't look like it covers where the pain actually is but it still might help If padded, thank you x

AmyMaria2 · 28/02/2020 11:24

@KLS02 welcome! congratulations, how old is your dc1? Do you know if you're having a boy or girl x

KLS02 · 28/02/2020 11:30

@AmyMaria2 DD is 2, and this one is going to be a little boy. so I will have one of each! x

chocolate26 · 28/02/2020 11:44

@KLS02 welcome 😃 that's lovely that you are going to have a boy! One of each.

I really do not get on with pregnancy pillows! I have 3 different ones and I just don't find them comfortable. I get hot, claustrophobic, head feels too high or too low (I have a cloud pillow) it's like a memory foam pillow and it's the comfiest pillow I've ever had so trying to get anything that's as good is really hard. I like relaxing with the pregnancy pillows but sleeping is difficult. I have really vivid dreams every night which wake me up and I'm now waking up for a wee about 2/3 times which is a nightmare.

Anyone struggling with heartburn? I was on omeprazole for it but since becoming anemic I can't take them anymore so I'm stuck with gaviscon but it doesn't give me long lasting relief.

newbyxx · 28/02/2020 12:34

Pregnancy pillow also makes my hip pain worse I stopped using it and went back to just a normal
Pillow which is better but now I tend to just use nothing, I also go to bed in my bed and then swap to the sofa half way through the night every night. I have a deep corner sofa so I get in the corner where I sleep propped sat up, this is the comfiest position I've found and seems to be working 😊 try it ladies xx

UKtoSK · 28/02/2020 12:36

@AmyMaria2 I had the same issue with hip pain at night and after googling I saw people saying that it’s important to have a pillow between your ankles as well as your knees. So I turned my U shaped pillow upside down and used my own pillows for my head and had the bottom of the U between my feet and the hip pain went away! Until two nights ago... now it’s back... I think it’s because I have taken a week off of yoga, I think stretching your hips out during the day helps a lot.

KLS02 · 28/02/2020 13:59

@chocolate26 thank you!. do you know what you’re having?, i have bad heartburn but i haven’t found anything to relieve it except for chugging milk😂 x

@newbyxx i find my sofa to be really comfy so its where I spend most nights lol x

chocolate26 · 28/02/2020 14:35

@KLS02 No, we are having a surprise! My DH really wants to wait until it's born to find out so I've gone along with that even though I would quite like to find out! He's going to tell me what we've had once it's born 😊

I haven't tried drinking milk for heartburn, I've heard that it helps initially but in the long run it can make it worse so that scares me. I have such an uncomfortable feeling in my actual stomach from heartburn, it keeps me awake a lot! I had it before I was pregnant too and had a camera down to have a look and they found the band that is supposed to keep food down is loose so I get a lot of stuff coming back up 😳 it's got worse since being pregnant.

MissisBee · 28/02/2020 15:03

@chocolate26 why have you had to stop your omeprazole for anaemia? I'm on it and couldn't really manage without it. I feel like all my food tries to come back up any time I bend over.

chocolate26 · 28/02/2020 15:29

@MissisBee my doctor and midwife have told me that taking omeprazole whilst aneamic can stop the iron tablets I have been given working! I can take gaviscon but not within 2 hours of taking the tablets and I have to take them twice a day. It's really hard not taking omeprazole but I'm hoping once my iron levels are back up I can take the omeprazole whilst maintaining my iron levels.

hjbows88 · 28/02/2020 16:40

Is anyone else starting to really miss wine 🍷?! I’ve not been to bad until now but I’m really starting to miss my weekend tipple!

hjbows88 · 28/02/2020 16:41

*too bad

APD1981 · 28/02/2020 17:47

@hjbows88 omg yes. I've had a really stressful week (redundancies announced at work, emergency vets trip, another vets trip, and my best friend's mum dying). That, plus sporadic, painful sleep and my pupils in school being quite disrespectful means I'm so desperate for a Friday night --bottle glass of wine. Just ordered a pizza and will have to make do with that and a can of pop!

KLS02 · 28/02/2020 18:21

@chocolate26 aww it’ll be such a lovely surprise!. i’ll keep my fingers crossed that your iron levels go up and you can continue with omeprazole. heartburn is so uncomfortable! x

@hjbows88 yep definitely lol, i’m more of a gin girl myself though! x

peetieswie · 28/02/2020 19:17

Been really normal emotionally now and cried twice today. Once cos I was hungry.

peetieswie · 28/02/2020 19:20

That makes no sense. Not been emotional until now, and last few days got so easily emotional! Anyone else the same?

peetieswie · 28/02/2020 19:23

Also, no heartburn but with you on the hip pain. Can't get comfy at all in bed. And bat shit crazy vivid dreams every night since I got pregnant. Sleep is not what it used to be 😔

umabb · 28/02/2020 22:34

Hey hope you are all well ladies.
I had my 25wk midwife appointment today. Routine urine and blood pressure check, listened to heart beat (still 150 bpm) and got my maternity certificate (even though I was told I could only get it from gp). It was amazing that the MW lightly pressed my belly and found the baby's back right away. Very skilled. She told me that starting next appointment they will measure the growth but not today.

Baby has been quieter in the last couple of days. Still feel the movements here and there but not a lot of the strong kicks that he used to have. Maybe he's facing my back me thinks..

Have been watching the virus news and first human to human case in the Uk really worries me. Maybe the start of the outbreak. In Surrey too - 30miles away from me Confused Maybe I should start work from home next week..

24+5 today

Oh @APD1981that is a horrible week :( hope you’re ok x

Blizy · 29/02/2020 08:15

@APD1981 I hope you have a relaxing weekend, you deserve it after the last week!

Has anyone started having cravings yet? I normally hate egg
But gosh am I craving fried eggs now!

Has anyone heard from Twittlebee? I've been thinking about her.

I have weekly physio for my spd pain, and have to wear a huge sexy tuba grip. I think I'll end up with crutches within a few weeks. It's so debilitating, I'm really struggling with not being able to do things with my 5 year old ds. Although we are braving the aquarium today.

I hope you all have a nice weekend.

Rinoa · 29/02/2020 09:30

@umabb I wrote to my HR about WFH and hoping they will suggest it. I'm getting a bit worried obviously more cuz of the pregnancy. Don't think work will take it well though we'll see !

umabb · 29/02/2020 09:49

@Rinoa my work is definitely preparing the possibilities of having most of the employees wfh and same with the husbands work. I work in Canary Wharf and nearby offices have asked staff to stay home because one of them returned with symptoms from Italy. I'm guessing if that person confirmed positive my work will act too.
Getting on busy trains and underground does make me more and more nervous...

24+6

@umabb it’s definitely concerning that there is someone in Surrey who doesn’t know who they caught the virus from. We had 30 confirmed cases here a week and a half ago, then a week later 1030, and today alone 800 new cases with total 3000. It’s because Korea is testing so many people they’re catching even those with no symptoms, but it worries me that the NHS is going to get overwhelmed by cases soon. I hope everyone stays safe!
