Where do you ladies get your maternity wear? I have a pair of mat jeans I got from H&M early on and think I'm actually outgrowing them 😭 is this even possible !

Smiffette · 26/02/2020 10:08

@Rinoa I bought a few tops from Newlook, they did 2 for £12 so good bargain!
I have a pair of black work trousers which were Newlook and Stonewash jeans from ASOS!

I went up a dress size for all in hope they would last the entire pregnancy, they were a little big at first, and still are but slowly filling the gap! 🙈

I will probably by a couple of stretchy dresses from BooHoo as they seem cheap! And will see me through the last couple of hopefully warmer months.

@APD1981 mine doesn't really have a routine yet, he/she is pretty active most of the time with a couple of hours break here and there. I have been feeling baby move since 16/17 weeks but I know that my placenta is at the front on the right so my guess is when I'm not feeling him/her much it's because he/she is laying behind my placenta as it favours that side. I had the weirdest sensation thismorning, it felt like baby was jumping on my bladder as I'd get sudden I NEED A WEE feeling even though I'd recently been to the toilet.

chocolate26 · 26/02/2020 10:13

Oh and I'm 23+4

APD1981 · 26/02/2020 10:30

@umabb that sounds exactly like me and my baby! Busy most of the day yesterday and quiet in the evening. I also wake every time I need to turn because of hip pain and normally baby gives me some kicks then but again, not had so much of that last night. Thankfully baby has been really active this morning so I'm not worried, I am just trying to work out patterns.

As for maternity wear, best I've found so far is Next. I sized up one size for jeans (off ebay!) because my hips seem to have widened a bit (😭) but Next do long leg trousers so they're one of the only places I can go as I'm almost 5'10". Since getting my dungarees from there last week I've hardly worn anything else. They're just so comfy and easier to wear than jeans. I also have some simple long sleeved jersey tops from H&M. Once (if!) the weather improves I'm going to get some maternity t-shirts from next. They seem to be a good price and if you look on ebay you can recoup a decent amount of money if you sell them on because maternity clothes seem to be popular. I paid £42 for my dungarees and I've noticed they sell for at least £20 on ebay.

Rinoa · 26/02/2020 11:32

@APD1981 I'm about 5'10 too! Hard to find long leg maternity stuff. I know next can be a bit pricey but hey like you said they can be re sold or reused for next baby 😂 I'll definitely take a look thanks!

Busylizzie85 · 26/02/2020 11:59

I have been trying to notice a routine but she definitely has no routine, she moves at different times everyday, she quite likes the car and the radio so I find some drives home she’s very active! I did mention this to my midwife yesterday about having no regular routine and she did not seem to concerned.

Maternity clothes wise I have bought a lot from Dorothy Perkins as they seem to always have money off so it’s worth a look!

4D scan today! , we really struggled to get the little monkey out of my placenta 🙈 . Was a lovely experience though I’d definitely recommend x

MissisBee · 26/02/2020 22:05

24 weeks now and haven't got a discernible patterns - definitely most active when I'm sitting quietly, and when I eat chocolate!

Missgemini · 26/02/2020 23:43

Baby was getting into a routine of kicking in the morning, dinner time and whilst in bed at night. But in the last 2 days, his pattern changed. I suddenly panicked at 10pm tonight and called the midwife. We went in and were home within an hour. Midwife did a doppler and said that everything was fine. They also checked my observations and urine. So reassuring. She said a proper pattern will only emerge at around 29 weeks.

Finally had our anatomy scan today (22+5) and everything looks great! All organs, fingers and toes where they should be etc. She was head to the wall with her hand over her face but we managed to make her move enough for a pretty good 4D shot. So happy to get the all clear, now I can really start buying everything we need. Still mostly on house arrest cus of the virus situation here so a bit of online shopping is just what I need to occupy me for a while 🤣

Baby girl also has somewhat of a routine but likes to change it up randomly to make me worry, but I still feel her several times a day every day so never worry too much. I always just assume the quieter days are when she’s having a growth spurt.

UKtoSK · 27/02/2020 08:19

@Mj2196 that’s a lovely scan photo, looks like baby’s smiling :)

Rinoa · 27/02/2020 10:54

Aw loving the 4D scans! NHS don't normally do it though were they done private ?

Rinoa · 27/02/2020 10:55

Going to this show this weekend , so excited !

UKtoSK · 27/02/2020 11:57

@Rinoa I live in South Korea so the practices are a little different here, 4D is standard as part of the ultrasound. Also way more ultrasounds. Have fun at the baby show, all the baby fairs here have been cancelled, I was really looking forward to going to one!

Mj2196 · 27/02/2020 12:09

@UKtoSK thank you they did a video of baby moving and yawning it was amazing! Lovely photos I’m glad Everything was well for you ☺️

@Rinoa yeah mine was private . Oo you will have to post & let me know how it was . I’m at the baby&toddler show in Manchester on the 15th March not really sure what to expect

SearchingTheSkies · 27/02/2020 17:43

Hope everyone's having a good week. I feel really tired even though I've only been back at school for 4 days since half term!

@Mj2196 @UKtoSK Lovely scan photos! Glad all is well with your little ones.

@UKtoSK hope you're not going too stir crazy at home. Are people generally staying home/away from public places? Hopefully countries will start to contain the spread.

@Rinoa @APD1981 and any other taller ladies, i got some tall maternity skinny jeans from ASOS which are very comfy. I'm 5'11 and I'd say they're just long enough on me.

Rinoa · 27/02/2020 17:56

@SearchingTheSkies were they ASOS brand? Taking a look now there's so many brands lol

SearchingTheSkies · 27/02/2020 18:21

@Rinoa yes they are ASOS Ridley in black.

APD1981 · 27/02/2020 19:18

@SearchingTheSkies thanks for the tip! Tall maternity stuff is so hard to find. Will take a look x

Rinoa · 27/02/2020 19:54

Awesome thanks !

AmyMaria2 · 27/02/2020 22:39

Such lovely scan photos ❤️

My hip ache in the morning and through the night is so awful!! My pregnancy pillow isn't working I need some sleeping position ideas I think🤣 x

UKtoSK · 27/02/2020 22:45

@SearchingTheSkies thankfully I’m a bit of a homebody anyway. It just gets annoying when we really want to go to a certain restaurant or something and can’t. Also can’t go shopping. Other people probably aren’t being as cautious as I am, I wouldn’t be so worried if I wasn’t pregnant. But I know in Daegu where something like 80% of the outbreak is they say the streets are pretty empty and many restaurants are switching to delivery only. Luckily we live next to a big park so I can go for nice walks every day, the park is always full of people with kids especially. Since most people live in apartments it’s really hard for families with kids without even a garden to run around in.

KLS02 · 28/02/2020 00:03

heya can i join? sorry i didn’t know these existed. i’m due on the 1st with my 2nd DC. i’ve became a single mum through the pregnancy so currently going at it on my own, would love to talk to some other ladies due around the same time x

APD1981 · 28/02/2020 06:58

@Amymaria2 I could've written that myself. I'm getting so frustrated with the pain I'm in during the night. It's got to the point where I'm almost crying with it and I've tried every position possible with my pregnancy pillow (even just chucking it off the bed) but nothing works. I dread going to bed now.

@KLS02 you're very welcome to join us. Sounds tough that you're now having to go it alone with your pregnancy 😔 I have found the support from other mums to be in this thread invaluable so I hope you do too x
