Has anyone tried shining a phone light on your bump yet? I tried it today and each time I shine a light it kicks 😊 apparently by 22 weeks it can sense light and dark from the outside.

AmyMaria2 · 16/02/2020 21:26

@APD1981 sorry just saw message, I was told he was big at 12 week scan, I measured ahead, more ahead than my dates by lmp and ovulation, and then at 20 week scan they told me he is quite a lot above average and showed me on growth charts, I have extra growth scans and they say they will induce me or offer me a c section at 36/37 weeks if he carry's on growing as he is.
My diabetes test isn't until 12th March but I have an extra midwife appointment as well as my 25 week one to check for protein in urine and measure bump again x

Zoey92 · 16/02/2020 21:30

@chocolate26 yes she goes crazy! Mind you she's usually going wild at this time of night right up till 11pm

umabb · 16/02/2020 22:09

@chocolate26 haha we just tried shining both phone lights and it was such hard kicks both of the husband and I saw ! Amazing !

@chocolate26 I’ve tried once or twice but I was only 19 weeks at the time I think and didn’t get a reaction. I’ll have to try it next week. I’m 21+2 today.

Last night laying on my back before sleep I put my hand on my bump to feel baby and rather than just a kick in one spot or two I could feel what felt like her whole body wiggling around all down the length of my hand, it was so cool. My husband was out at the time so he missed it but going to try again tonight.

Doubl · 16/02/2020 22:29

Wow I'm pretty sure I'm getting kicks to the cervix tonight, it is such an odd sensation! 😅 He's been like an acrobat for the last five minutes, thumps all over!

APD1981 · 17/02/2020 11:21

Oh that's interesting @Amymaria2. It's weird that he's always been so much bigger tjiygh. Definitely no chance you're not just further along than your dates work out?

Gigitree · 17/02/2020 11:54

Anyone else suddenly have days where they are ravenous? I don’t know if it’s because I’m tired as I woke up at 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep. But all morning I’ve been so hungry! I had porridge and toast for breakfast, then a banana & satsuma, then an hour or so later hungry again so I had hummus & crackers, then just now I was starving hungry again so just had a mega early lunch! Fearing the hunger will strike again soon! 🙈🐷

AmyMaria2 · 17/02/2020 13:05

@APD1981 I know, I feel like he's gonna be a giant baby 😂 no I was on clomid so having ovulation scans, I know when I ovulated 12 hours either side, so can't really be wrong! Glad I did know for sure or I'd definitely be thinking the same xx

Perhaps a bit of too much information kinda question sorry... since last night I've been feeling this vibration /sensation in my pubic area whenever baby kicks.. he's not that low - I feel him near my belly bottom but as if the whole area vibrates from inside altogether when he kicks... very odd...

OP posts:
umabb · 17/02/2020 16:47

Forgot to actually ask the question - not sure if any of you had the same experience pleaseConfused

Found this thread which put my mind at ease a bit
https://community.babycenter.com/post/a32125007/feelingkickkvibrationsinnvagina

It exactly feels like how some of the ladies said there , the baby is trying to get out... very scary and uncomfortable Sad

@umabb I kinda feel like the baby's kicks feel like a vibration generally. Like stomach grumbling , Or when he's flipping/turning. Could just be that they're really low so you feel it in your vagina area? Definitely ask the midwife to put your kind at ease !

Zoey92 · 18/02/2020 08:59

Definitely having a groggy few days, grumpy, tired & bad heads that i cannot shift.
Hope everyones doing ok

LillianFullStop · 18/02/2020 09:00

I definitely get those @umabb! Sometimes in my bottom too - It makes me thinks I have the need to pass gas but after the next few times I recognised it's kicking. Very odd sensation but I got them with my first baby too.

I'm going to tell some work colleagues today the news finally at 24+4 - they will either say oh wow we couldn't tell or oh of course we knew we didn't want to say anything !

umabb · 18/02/2020 10:42

@LillianFullStop Thanks good to know that I'm not alone ! @Rinoa today so far baby seems to have been behaving himself and kicking my tummy only. I was going to call the MW if he kept on doing that because it was very uncomfortable .. 🤪

I had a pair of dungarees when I was a kid and loved them. Since then, I've always felt you needed to be 'cool and trendy' or pregnant to get away with wearing them. So, I couldn't resist and got myself a pair yesterday. I absolutely love and feel properly pregnant in them now!! Plus it's great not pulling maternity jeans up all the time!

chocolate26 · 18/02/2020 12:45

@APD1981 I have a pair of maternity dungarees too and they are so comfortable! They were slightly big when I bought them but by March/April time they will fit much better ready for spring 😃

APD1981 · 18/02/2020 12:51

@chocolate26 they're just great, aren't they?! I made sure I had growing room in mine and I think they'll be OK til June unless I end up with a huge or weird shaped bump! I can currently get them on and off without unzipping them and there's bump growing room but they don't look too big now. So nice for the spring. I couldn't help but wear mine today!

AmyMaria2 · 18/02/2020 12:51

@umabb I get that as well, and I went into epu last night I had awful pains in my pubic area, really low down and at the top of my thighs. They heard heart beat thank goodness and felt my tummy a lot, they said it's pelvic gurdle pain and it's because baby is big and very low down, he's sitting right under my belly button with his feet pushed down into my pelvis area, I have to go to a physio therapist to learn some little exercises to stretch pelvis ready for birth!! So glad he's all okay though. Xxx

Busylizzie85 · 18/02/2020 13:05

I’m glad you posted that @AmyMaria2 I had awful pain Sunday night in my pelvis both sides and in my groin both sides so uncomfortable! It’s eased off now but feel like I have pulled all the muscles down there.
Yesterday the baby was only kicking internally and not a lot so I got really worried but today she’s back to kicking all over the place.

24+4

AmyMaria2 · 18/02/2020 14:59

@Busylizzie85 it was so painful, felt like I'd pulled every muscle in the bottom of my stomach! Baby is just very low and digging his feet in apparently. Glad your baby's active again!! X

umabb · 18/02/2020 16:55

@AmyMaria2 ah that's scary. Glad he's all okay and you are okay! How are you today? For me I think baby has changed position today so much softer kicks and not towards downstairs anymore... or he's just tired from yesterdays exercises! Hmm

OP posts:
AmyMaria2 · 18/02/2020 16:59

@umabb thank you, yeah I feel better today because I know he is okay, still hurts though but I'm just hoping he will change position soon, I've had a warm bath and she told me if that doesn't work to try crawling on all fours for 10 mins, so I might have to try that soon lol.
Glad your bubbas ok and moved a little xx

umabb · 18/02/2020 18:11

@AmyMaria2 sorry to hear that you are still in pain. Is it that crawling would change baby's position hence reduce pressure ? Hopefully that's going to help. This pregnancy thing isn't easy !
