@Gigitree I think if it was something to be concerned about they would have referred you to a consultant/specialist. 95% is still within the range I believe and it's when you're off chart that they worry. Hopefully you have some follow up for reassurance.

@mrssunshinexxx hope all goes well with your appointment.

I think I am going to tell my work this week - bump has really grown and can't be hidden anymore! Has anyone got their MAT1B forms yet? I think DH needs his by 25w to get his paternity leave. How much time are your DHs taking off? Mine only gets 2 weeks. Same as last time but we had an October baby so he took most of the Christmas break off using his leave.

23+1 💙

Mj2196 · 08/02/2020 12:37

@chocolate26 I will be glad at the end and I know I hate to admit it but he’s right 😂 We’re very lucky &I think it makes it extra special if you’ve waited a while

I also strangely get jealous of people who know already but Yay for team yellows 💛

mrssunshinexxx · 08/02/2020 13:05

Thanks @LillianFullStop it's abit nerve wracking but I feel well looked after

Yes I have my mat1b form I am 21 weeks today I think it depends on your husbands work and if he's getting statutory or full paternity x

APD1981 · 08/02/2020 14:29

I got my MatB1 at my 50 week scan. Gave it to work, filled in a maternity leave form and within a few days got a letter back confirming my entitlement and expected return date. Hubby has also sorted his with Payroll (he works for NHS, I'm a teacher) and he gets 2 weeks pat leave and he's taking an extra week too. He gets loads of holiday due to length of service and he can carry it over too so he's carrying 5 days over to the next financial year and he gets 33 days anyway so he'll have 38 days to take next year which is nice.

APD1981 · 08/02/2020 14:29

50 week scan?! 😂 I meant 20, obvs 🤣

MrssC92 · 08/02/2020 14:54

@chocolate26 my baby's head was slightly smaller than my dates and legs slightly longer. They never said it was an issue though
We had the second half of our 20 week scan on Thursday and they never mentioned any concerns but this morning I got a letter for an appointment with the consultant on the 18th. I've tried to ring the hospital to ask why but they've said i need to call back on Monday. Very nervous wait! My trust has medical records online and I've been ringing for weeks to get mine sorted so i cant help but think if i actually had access to my medical records i might not be spending the weekend worrying!

AmyMaria2 · 08/02/2020 15:28

@mrssunshinexxx I hope the specialist appointment goes well, let us know❤️

@peetieswie I'm the same with movement, only feeling muffled turns and butterflies rather than actual kicks.. can't wait until I do! I hope I do even with the anterior placenta.. x

My baby boy measured big at 20
Week scan, bigger everything, he's around a week ahead in measurements which is one of the reasons they are keeping me under consultant, so early induction or whatever other options will be available nearer the time after extra scans x

Gigitree · 08/02/2020 17:38

Thanks @Twittlebee @chocolate26 and @LillianFullStop (and anyone else I might of
Missed)
Sounds like it’s quite a common thing then and clearly nothing to get worried about! Phew! ❤️

mrssunshinexxx · 08/02/2020 18:57

@AmyMaria2 thank you x

AmyMaria2 · 08/02/2020 23:39

@Gigitree I don't really understand the centile thing, they have just told me baby is measuring big on everything, all his measurements were over, I'm having a diabetes test at 28 weeks because of this as well. I don't think it's anything to worry about just means a bigger baby probably! X

Gigitree · 09/02/2020 08:10

@AmyMaria2 I copied this from google as it’s more succinct than I could ever be:

“A 50th percentile is the same as a "median." An average, or "mean," is similar but a weighted result. A 95th percentile says that 95% of the time data points are below that value and 5% of the time they are above that value”

It’s just based on averages of other babies measurements.

But based on what yourself and a lot of others are saying it seems quite normal actually. I was just concerned as the sonographer didn’t really explain why/if this was an issue, and also she’s quite out of proportion at the moment with her head measurement being 16th percentile and her tummy 95th, however it could be a bad measurement or she could even out over time, who knows at the moment sounds like it’s too early to tell/worry ❤️

peetieswie · 09/02/2020 09:12

Also team yellow 💛 People are often surprised when I tell them but most of my friends who have babies didn't find out. Husband gets two weeks off. He's applied for another job so I hope he'll still get the leave if he gets it.

Twittlebee · 09/02/2020 10:07

All my family and most of my friends have kept team yellow! I got so much criticism for finding out with all 3 of mine!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 09/02/2020 11:32

Hope all you first timers are enjoying a child free storm day. I've just spent an hour building marble run to find my son has pooed himself 🤢🤢 you all have this to look forward to 😂

Blizy · 09/02/2020 11:58

I'm hiding up in the bedroom watching the masked singer whilst the husband and 5 year year old son are downstairs. Ds is bouncing off the walls crazy today...I might hide until bed time!

chocolate26 · 09/02/2020 12:05

Does anyone else have days where they just feel uncomfortable? I've not been sleeping well this past week, I keep having awful dreams and I think that's adding to my tiredness, I feel exhausted all day but today everything is an effort. I'm finding it harder getting up once I've sat down, I'm not even that big but it just aches. I have had a cold aswell so that's probably not helping. I'm going to get bloods taken next week to just check my vitamin and iron levels etc. First time mum so I have no idea what's normal and what's not 🤷‍♀️

chocolate26 · 09/02/2020 12:09

Also my boobs are enormous and won't stop growing! I'm a small size 8 frame and they are currently 32FF 😆 is this happening to anyone else? I'm worried they will never stop!!

APD1981 · 09/02/2020 12:14

@chocolate26 yes! I feel like that today too. I woke with pain in my side and my back. Can't tell if it's round ligament pain, general back ache, or a bowel thing. I have to take daily fibre drinks to keep me regular but I'm wondering if I'm constipated. Surely the bowel is in a different location in the body now which makes me wonder if that's why I feel differently to normal constipation. I'm also wondering if I've had a tiny bit of pinkish spotting. I'm just not sure so going to monitor it. But I think I generally just feel out of sorts today. Plus I'm so sick of worrying about everything!

chocolate26 · 09/02/2020 12:31

@APD1981 sorry your feeling rough today too! I struggle with IBS and reflux/indigestion quite badly and I was wondering the same thing whether my aches are bowel aches! Everything feels like it's moved around (because it has) so I'm not sure what these pains and aches are anymore. I went out for dinner last night and ate a lot of food! And had pudding quite late so I don't think that's helped. I feel the same with all the worrying 😔 it's getting me down these past few days! I'm having dreams every night that my baby dies and it's really hard to deal with. What are your plans for today? Do you have things that cheer you up when your having a down day?

APD1981 · 09/02/2020 12:37

@chocolate26 so glad to hear I'm not alone x

I also went out for a Chinese last night and then got worried about all the salt in it. I drank loads of water to try and flush it out but your mind goes into overdrive thinking too much about everything. So sorry you're having such awful dreams. That must be just awful x

No plans other than some ironing later really. Hubby cleaned most of the house this morning (he's a good egg) and I did some of the lighter cleaning. He's off out for a couple of drinks and dinner before seeing a comedy show at a theatre later (if he can get there - this weather is awful!) so I'm trying to think of what I can do for myself that'll distract from feeling a bit down. It'll be nice not cooking a full on roast for us, though!

Larrydavid · 09/02/2020 15:45

@chocolate26 I'm also normally a size 8 and I've now got the biggest boobs I've ever seen. I don't know what size I am but XL maternity bras are snug 😳😳😳 I also keep getting aches and pains. I checked with the midwife and she's said it's growing pains. Hopefully it is for you too. It's difficult when you don't have a point of reference!

peetieswie · 09/02/2020 22:53

Also having intense dreams. Not as bad as yours sound, but I've had crazy vivid dreams since I conceived, that's the first symptom I had before I even knew I was pregnant.

Saw my tactless sister in law today who kept saying 'I've never seen you fat before' and 'it's probably a girl cos you have a double chin.' Not feeling the best about myself after that! 😩

MsMiaWallace · 10/02/2020 07:57

Yeah people think they're funny to call us fat etc.
They don't think that actually we could be bloody paranoid about the weight gain!

LillianFullStop · 10/02/2020 10:53

@peetieswie that's a horrible thing for her to say please pay her no mind!

@chocolate26 I am feeling quite uncomfortable now too - back aches when I sleep, feeling awkward and struggling to get up or to pick things up from the floor, pulling sensations when I walk too fast... and with weeks still to go! It doesn't help that my DD1 (3) is so full of beans I get tired looking at her haha

On top of that I think this boy is determined to be in breech position I get more kicks in my bladder and bowel than my belly! he is literally kicking my a$$ Hmm

23+3 💙

UKtoSK · 10/02/2020 12:12

@chocolate26 and @Larrydavid I wish I could sympathise but I have had tiny boobs all my life and even though they’ve grown so much they’re still smaller than most adult women 🤣😭 I am loving the growth, feels like I’ve finally reached the puberty that I was waiting for all my teens and 20s 🤣🤣
