@peetieswie I'll be reusing my medela! I spent a bloody fortune on it and it's been sat in the loft for 3 years, do not intend to not use it. Will just run it all through the dishwasher first to make sure all ok and the bits I can can have some antibac spray on.

umabb · 07/02/2020 10:59

@RPPs hey, I just called the GP and confirmed that my last test of ALT was normal so no more follow ups. I'll still pay more attention to food and water (thanks for the advice). I might change to use other make of multivitamin and folic acid too x

My due date is 14th June, mat leave to start the 7th . I worked till 38 weeks with my dd but she was 2 weeks late so I did still get a rest ..starting to wonder if I’m pushing it saying I’ll go to 39 this time 😂 anyone else intending on staying till later on?

umabb · 07/02/2020 14:34

@Mj2196 hey, same due date as me June 14. I was thinking roughly end of May /early June so around 38weeks. My work is quite flexible letting me work from home so I imagine the last two weeks I'll be home.

Just has my 20 week scan today, he couldn’t complete the scan because baby was lying in an awkward position (nothing new there she did that at the 12 week scan)

But he did say that here abdominal circumference is measuring big. On my scan report it’s saying more than 95th percentile.
The sonographer wasn’t particularly forthcoming with info, just said if it’s still measuring big at the rescan in 2 weeks time then it could mean gestational diabetes and they’ll refer me for a GTT.

Anyone else ever had this? I don’t know whether I need to be concerned or not at this stage and if there is anything I should/could be doing differently.

Trying my hardest not to worry, but like I say the sonographer didn’t really give us much to go on, so I can’t help but worry.

hjbows88 · 07/02/2020 15:35

I think it depends on the nature or your work. I work from home a lot and have control over my diary so have refused all meetings requiring significant travel after end of March meaning I’ll be pretty much working from home April onwards. I’ll officially finish work on 19th June and my due date is 20th. Obviously if baby makes an arrival earlier then my maternity will start then! But this is only doable for me because I can work from home and can essentially manage my own commitments meaning I won’t really have any pressure or expectations or deadlines to meet - I couldn’t face a commute beyond 38 weeks I don’t think!

Mj2196 · 07/02/2020 17:18

@hjbows88 that’s great you get more time with bubs afterwards ! My jobs non physical (I’m a manager in a bookmakers) I’ll be restricted from lone working from 28weeks so there will always be someone with me. my morning journey is a 30min alk including the nursery run but will have the car for my 10pm finishes . I’m now debating to keep a week or 2 holiday leave spare though !

Mj2196 · 07/02/2020 17:22

@umabb aw due date twins,! do you know what your having ? It’s nice to see people staying later.. most women I know leave at around 30 weeks I would be bored to death haha

Cornishbumpkin · 07/02/2020 17:40

Ah wish I could work from home but sadly nursing in an emergency department doesn't afford that luxury Grin I'm planning to go on mat leave at 38 weeks but taken two weeks annual leave before so will go off at 36 weeks.

UKtoSK · 07/02/2020 18:32

@umabb that’s what worries me, how long is it going to go on for? I’m glad your family is safe right now, it must be so stressful.

I’m 20 weeks tomorrow, my belly suddenly grew some more the past two days and definitely looks more like a pregnant belly now, and my husband felt kicks for the first time! He looked so happy it was so lovely 😍 then later when I was filming her kicks I noticed I have a linea nigra starting. Starting to feel properly pregnant now 😆

newbyxx · 08/02/2020 06:36

@Gigitree yeah I had the same at my scan but it wasn't even mentioned by the sonographer I just read my chart after and seen that his abdominal circumference was above the 95th centile, not to concerned as I'm sure the sonographer would of had to tell me if they were worried

23+0 x

mrssunshinexxx · 08/02/2020 07:44

@Gigitree not good that they didn't really explain but hopefully it's nothing serious will you be having a follow up growth scan?

My scan on thurs flagged up a problem with one of her kidneys we are being sent to another hospital in the next city on Monday to see a specialist I can't stop worrying x

umabb · 08/02/2020 08:37

@Mj2196 haha yes due date twins! I'm having a baby boy. Are you keeping it a surprise ? Same with me, I can't imagine being out of work but too big to go anywhere but stuck home for too long 🤪

@UKtoSK

My parents still hope to go before March and return in May to see us again as long as there are flights. They have said they will quarantine themselves in a hotel as soon as arrive before come to see us when they are back again.. what a situation!

Gigitree · 08/02/2020 09:16

@newbyxx oh well then it mustn’t be anything to worry about at all if they didn’t even mention it to you. Perhaps they tend to even out once baby is full term so it’s only a concern if you have any other issues such as GD etc.

@mrssunshinexxx. Yeah really annoying that he made a point to mention it, but didn’t actually explain whether it’s an issue or not, and what would happen if it was a problem.
Yeah I have a follow up scan in 2 weeks as little madam was laying awkwardly so they couldn’t complete all the measurements they need, so they will recheck stomach size then.

Oh I’m sorry to hear you’ve had something flagged up about her kidneys, at least they are getting you seen by a specialist sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed for you that you get some reassuring news. I know it’s so hard not to worry but try to keep yourself busy until then! ❤️

chocolate26 · 08/02/2020 09:38

@Gigitree what is the 95th percentile? When I looked at my notes after the scan it shows that my baby's head is measuring a bit small and it's legs are measuring quite a bit longer. The sonographer didn't mention anything though and I don't need a re scan so I'm assuming it's not important.

Good luck to those having a re scan for any reason 😊 I hope you have good news. Try and keep busy in the meantime! It's so hard not to worry.

I've come down with a cold 😔 first virus/bug since becoming pregnant and it's horrible. I know it's not the worst thing I could have but I'm feeling sorry for myself and hoping it doesn't harm baby in anyway.

chocolate26 · 08/02/2020 09:39

Oh and 21 weeks today 😊

peetieswie · 08/02/2020 09:45

Feeling lots more moving now. It feels quite muffled though and can't feel it from the outside. My mum said that's all she ever felt and never had big kicks you could feel from the outside with either pregnancy but was hoping husband would be able to feel movement at some stage! We're going to book a 3d scan for his mum to see (she has special needs) but apparently it's not good to do this till after 24 weeks so will have to wait a while still. Anyone else doing this at some stage?

Twittlebee · 08/02/2020 09:46

3 of my babies have had 95th plus centile bellies (with 50th centile legs and heads) and I've never had it flagged as an issue. I'm sure if they're concerned it will get flagged. I see a consultant after each of my scans too so I'm sure she would have mentioned it by now.

chocolate26 · 08/02/2020 09:51

@peetieswie yes we are having a 4D scan, we are taking our parents with us. We are booking it for when I'm about 28 weeks 😊 very excited to see him/her in more detail!

Mj2196 · 08/02/2020 09:59

@umabb yes team yellow💛 I nearly caved at the scan 😂but my dps argument was that we waited 2 years for this baba we can wait a couple of months for the gender, so that shut me up haha

@peetieswie that’s a lovely idea . most places say 24+ as baby is still a bit skinny now my dd looked like a Skeleton at 18weeks lol. we’re going for a 4D scan this time at 27 weeks. not sure what pics will be like due to anterior placenta , but the place offers one free rescan if you go before 30 weeks so hopefully it will be ok x

chocolate26 · 08/02/2020 10:24

@Mj2196 we are team yellow too 💛 I was the same at our scan, the lady asked if we wanted to know what we were having and I tried to persuade DH but he really wants a surprise so I stuck to that! Your DP is very true about waiting a couple of months longer! It took us a year to get pregnant so I guess waiting a little bit longer isn't too much to ask 😊

APD1981 · 08/02/2020 10:29

I'm also team yellow 💛 but do get a bit jealous when I hear from you all who know the sex already. Even spoke to husband about it again this morning and he reminded me how exciting it'll be when baby comes out to be told the sex. I'm desperate to know but I'm desperate for a surprise, too!

MsMiaWallace · 08/02/2020 10:38

We're staying team yellow!
Scan next week on the 13th.

Im jealous of you at 20 weeks who can feel the kicks from the outside.
I'm still only feeling flutters at 19+5 & it's my 3rd.

Babymaher · 08/02/2020 10:59

Yay team yellow 💛 I thought I was on my own nice to know others also decided to wait. Getting frustrated with everyone already having an opinion on my decisions and pregnancy!!! I will be finishing work 13th April as I need to take all my annual leave before I start mat leave otherwise I will loose it, not long to go which is great as works getting more difficult like someone else on the group being a nurse in a busy emergency department is no fun .
22+1
