@UKtoSK I've got similar problems. My parents are here and their flight back to Shanghai has been cancelled by virgin, which is fine I'm more than happy for them to stay with me for longer as the situation in China is really unpredictable at the moment. However the plan was for them to come here again end of May for the delivery. I worry if they returned to China they'd not be able to come here again. Or they'd worry too much about bring me and baby virus from China 😷🥺 I'd be gutted if they couldn't be here for us.

We booked a long weekend going away with friends for early March. The plan was to have a couple of holidays once my parents return to China but they will have to extend their stay so not sure what we do with this holiday anymore, other than perhaps having to leave them here at home for that long weekend. We were also thinking we could go to south France for a bit too before 28wks but now everything is up in the air. :-/
Hope you all enjoy your babymoons x

Glad things are settling down for you @TwittleBee and the bed rest is helping 😊

I'm 23w tomorrow so I will officially be 6 months! I guess I will have to tell work now - I'm not permanent staff either @zoe92 so nothing in the way of maternity leave so I'll effectively be giving my notice as I plan to stop work at 38w. Anyone else decided on when they will finish up work?

Bump is popped out now and belly button is starting to change shape - I remember after DD1 it took a couple of months before my bellybutton went back to normal Grin heavier now too I think I need to get some kind of belly support band as I can feel it pulling when I walk for too long or too fast. I'm normally a back sleeper but that's starting to get uncomfortable now so will probably try to start sleeping on my side.

Will probably have one last trip I think before bub comes - probably just a drive as I want to avoid flying.

Hi ladies 22 + 5 today, my tummy was HUGE this morning when I woke up!

Omg today is a reeeeeally bad food day! I was up at 3am as I couldn’t sleep so I got on the sofa and watched one born every minute, 4am I was eating overnight oats with prunes in. Went food shopping at 8, came home and had a ham flatbread and nearly all of a huge bag of chilli Doritos with sour cream dip! Please tell me I’m not the only one who has the occasional piggy day? 🤞🤰🏼🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ yesterday I ate 3 lovely, healthy meals then today I'm an unstoppable eating machine!

MsMiaWallace · 06/02/2020 14:40

God your not alone!!
I eat chocolate/sweets everyday!!

Busylizzie85 · 06/02/2020 16:24

My eating habits are so bad, I’m constantly hungry for all the wrong things!!

Cornishbumpkin · 06/02/2020 16:25

@rainbow1982 wow if that's what you class as an unhealthy day then I don't think you have anything to worry about, have so far today eaten a banana, super noodles, a bit of bread and butter, a small Easter egg and a doughnut lol

rainbow1982 · 06/02/2020 16:28

Early start on the Easter eggs, I like it! 👍😁😜

I am really glad it's not just me! I just felt I'd eaten a whole lot of food before midday!! I'm a bit chunky and got to have the diabetes test on the 2nd of March so I beat myself up if I eat crap!

RPPs · 06/02/2020 16:39

Hi @umabb have you had any further developments with your Liver Function? I think you were to be tested again on Tuesday? Have they given you any advice?
Ive just had mine done for a 3rd time and its up again to 63. Don't have my consultant appointment until next week and am a little worried.

chocolate26 · 06/02/2020 17:14

Some days I eat really well (I love fruit and veg) and some days I feel like all I eat is bread, pasta, cheese and cake!

MissisBee · 06/02/2020 17:15

Re second hand pumps, I think it depends whether the pump is an open or closed system (can't remember off the top of my head which one is ok, so not helpful!), so will depend on the variety of the pump, not just the make.

My official last day of work is 9th April, but I might have one additional morning to do a weekend or 2 later (2 separate roles in the same place, and the 2nd one has only just started, so want to keep it on a little longer).

umabb · 06/02/2020 18:03

@RPPs yes thanks for remembering x I had another test done Tuesday morning and was expecting the GP to call on the following day (they did that for the previous two times) but they didn't call. I assumed that this time was fine - or, they forgot to follow up! I'll ring tomorrow to ask and let you know what they suggest.

Yesterday I had a private scan with a foetal medical specialist so I asked him about my elevated liver enzyme ALT as well. He said as long as my bile acid is normal he's not too worried but will still need to bring ALT down if possible.
What is it that's elevated with you? Is it also ALT? My previous two times were 128 and 95 (or 98? roughly that)

Not a good day today Sad

Had consultant appt to discuss caesarean which meant I had to go over all the details of previous traumatic birth while consultant tried to persuade me that caesarean would be even more traumatic. Also discovered my blood pressure getting too high(probably as taken after this anxiety-inducing conversation) so have to go to MAU over weekend for further check up

Gigitree · 06/02/2020 19:01

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough day @Pegase
I find it really odd that the consultant suggested a caesarean would be more traumatic, what a ridiculous/unfactual
And harmful thing to say!

My sister had a traumatic first birth and for her second had an elective caesarean which she said she is 100% glad she did and she said it was actually quite healing to have the birthing process be so calm.

RPPs · 06/02/2020 20:45

Its seens we are all having wee concerns this week. Ive been so emotional too. Got worked up with my boss and burst into tears then cried when a snr colleague sympathised.

@umabb That is reasurring. Has your liver bile been normal? I think mine was last week but have to call in for the results tomorrow
Yes its my ALT level too. There are ways of bringing it down by reducing fatty milk, fatty meats and eating more folate rich food. I also only drink a max of 3 pints of water per day and it should be 3 litres. How about you?

RPPs · 06/02/2020 21:18

@umabb Thanks so much for sharing this info. Its really helped me to calm down

umabb · 06/02/2020 21:49

@RPPs aww I'm glad x don't worry yours is minor comparing to my figures Wink my bile acid is normal according to the first test so I didn't actually repeat that. The reason I went to see GP was actually because I worried about my bile acid which would cause ICP. the elevated ALT was a surprise but I'm not too bothered with it at the moment. I'm having quite a lot of fatty food recently that my parents cooks .. - probably one of the reasons..
The specialist also said because that my baby's development and growth are excellent so he's not worried at all but asked me to keep on monitoring the ALT just to be sure.
I'll let you know how it goes

OP posts:
umabb · 06/02/2020 21:54

@RPPs I probably drink roughly 2-3 litres of water everyday. I'm having a bit of a cold right now so I stick in some lemon slices and just keep on drinking. I didn't know but glad to know that this helps bringing ALT down :)

Apparently I shouldn't reuse the medela pump as its and open pump not a closed one so bacteria can get in. Tempted just to use it anyway once I've sanitised it. Apparently you could pass on infections but infections won't live for months outside someone's body and ill probably unscrew it just to check if it looks manky inside before I use it on baby. Maybe I'm just being a cheapskate tho 🤷‍♀️

peetieswie · 06/02/2020 22:05

Anyone had cravings? My only one so far has been balsamic vinegar so I've been eating salad with every meal drenched in it! It's kept me fairly healthy but I've often followed dinner up with biscuits or cake, so not all great. Also enjoying salt and vinegar rice cakes.

UKtoSK · 06/02/2020 22:46

@umabb I was going to ask you what the situation was with your parents. It’s lucky that they were with you when the outbreak started. Do you have other family in China who have been affected? I feel so bad for all the pregnant women in China. Did you see about the mother who gave birth while she had the virus and the baby also got it? I hope your parents and my mum are both able to get to us for the births.

RPPs · 07/02/2020 07:00

@umabb my Sister in law just did some research for me and apparently several woman online have reported Pregnacare as a cause of their ALT rising. Im going to go back on to my normal Folic Acid to see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

umabb · 07/02/2020 09:28

@UKtoSK most of our relatives in China live in Shanghai area and they are just treading very carefully everyday spending most of the time at home. It's not a nice place to live right now at all even though it's not as bad as the epicentre of Wuhan.. and yes poor people there bless them.. I heard about the pregnant woman and the newborn carrying virus too Sad sad thing is that we just don't know when, as some specialists trying to figure out, is the turning point , for us to be able to say that it's getting better... could be months. One option is for my parents to just relax and stay here until baby is born (their visas allow them to stay here for 6 months). it'll be a decision for themselves to make..
