@Pegase I have had those sharp shooting pains too, they are low down in my groin and also central above my bikini line. I had my scan today and everything looked good so I'm assuming they are growing pains 😊

Pegase · 03/02/2020 17:28

Thank you all - I started really worrying as I'm used to aches and pains if I move awkwardly or something but this was super sudden and all I was doing was sitting still!

I had SPD last full term pregnancy which affects mobility and causes pain but that is less intense- more of an ouch than a sudden shriek of alarm!

Pegase · 03/02/2020 17:29

Really bloody hurts. More like someone jabbing me with a knitting needle in the groin/pelvis.

Congrats on successful scan- would love to see baby in utero yawning lol!

SearchingTheSkies · 03/02/2020 17:42

@RPPs aww that's so lovely. Would love to get baby kicking when I talk. Don't think it's happened quite yet.

@chocolate26 Glad all went well with your scan!

My scan is tomorrow and the nerves are mounting. Anyone else got their scan this week?

chocolate26 · 03/02/2020 17:56

Thank you 😊 it was really cute to see it yawning! Baby is usually asleep around the time of my scan as I don't feel movements at that time of day so I guess it was tired as it had been woken up. We still don't know if it's a boy or girl, DH really wants a surprise so sticking to that.

@SearchingTheSkies I was nervous, I found it hard to relax yesterday and didn't sleep well last night. I found it most worrying when she was scanning baby's heart and brain but such a relief when it's all okay. The chances of them finding anything wrong are very slim and it's such an amazing experience 😊 good luck with yours tomorrow!

Gigitree · 03/02/2020 19:19

Thanks @magpiefeather sorry to hear you are suffering too! Fingers crossed it eases off for you soon! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@chocolate26 I know what you mean, if it’s not the sickness then it’s the indigestion, thankfully mine isn’t quite that bad yet but I did wake up in the middle of the night with it coming out of my nose 😭 it was horrific! It was my own fault I was so tired I went to sleep not long after eating dinner, won’t repeat that in a hurry. My new best friend gaviscon is now permanently on my bedside table 😂

Gigitree · 03/02/2020 19:21

Glad all went well with your scan @chocolate26 ❤️

Rinoa · 03/02/2020 19:46

Anyone having breast pain? Yesterday and today been having sharp stabbing pains on one boob or the other. It comes and goes but when it hits it's so sudden! Ouch 😓 Haven't felt this since puberty !

Smiffette · 03/02/2020 19:58

@Rinoa I've not been having breast pain but for the last week I've had a real discomfort just below my right rib. It really annoying it come on in the afternoon and stays all
Night making sleeping uncomfortable 😣 then it's gone by morning.

20 weeks

hjbows88 · 03/02/2020 20:33

Hi @Rinoa - I’m getting breast pain. Not constant and doesn’t last for long each time but I am getting the shooting sharp pains here and there!

Had my 20 week scan today. All looked ok. It only took ten mins - was in and out very quickly, sounds like some of you got a much longer experience! :/

Rinoa · 03/02/2020 20:57

Yea seems to be hormones maybe, only thing that makes since . And since it's my first maybe it's the milk getting ready?

@Smiffette ouch! Is it sharp? Definitely mention it to the midwife

@hjbows88 yes I think it takes longer if they have a hard time getting certain angles . Maybe yours was being a good baby! Lol

APD1981 · 03/02/2020 20:58

@chocolate26 glad to hear all went well. @hjbows88 glad all was OK. Baby must've been in a good position to see everything easily although the sonographer at my scan said it'll take 25-30 mins but ended up about 45 mins total scanning time for me as I had to go and eat and drink to get baby to move then go back in. I expect they were just able to see everything really clearly so nothing to worry about!

RPPs · 03/02/2020 21:11

@Magpiefeather Im so glad to hear Im not the only one with crusty nips Grin. Ive had them for weeks. Not seen any leaking just dried mucus. Vom. They also change colour regularly. From pink to purple to black. Mental really.

Glad to hear the 20 week scans are going well. Isn't it a pity they hadn't more time at the end of the scan to show you the baby properly when the worry has subsided.

MissisBee · 03/02/2020 22:17

I've my scan in the morning. Don't expect to sleep too well tonight cos of nerves.
Glad to hear of today's ones all going well.
My boobs feel massive and heavy. I gave them a squeeze in the shower the other day out of curiosity and there's some colostrum there. Haven't started leaking thankfully. Good to know they remember what to do!

Tip for anyone who hasn’t had their whooping cough vaccine yet.... get it done in the arm you don’t sleep on! Learned the hard way!

chocolate26 · 04/02/2020 07:25

Good luck to those having scans today 😊

@Magpiefeather thanks! I've got mine next Monday so I will be sure to get it in the other arm!

SearchingTheSkies · 04/02/2020 07:47

@MissisBee Hope you got some sleep, and good luck for today!

Smiffette · 04/02/2020 08:33

@Rinoa no not sharp which why I have ent called her yet... it's more of an uncomfortable annoyance that starts in the afternoon and stays for the rest of the day.

I wonder if it's just something silly lime my stomach being full and pushed up with the growing baby!

Hey ladies hope you all are well.

I had my whooping cough jab done this morning and now muscles a bit sore but that's all. I have a bit of a cold with sore throat and odd sneeze. The nurse said as long as I didn't have a temperature it would be fine to have the jab so I did it - I might be burning a bit at the moment as I've developed a headache since the jab. Not sure if it's to do with the jab at all or simply my cold got worse though. Hmm

However what's on my mind right now is that since earlier today I haven't felt baby's movements much. I didn't sleep well because of the stupid cold and maybe it's one of the reasons. I called the advice line and I was told to call again in the evening if I still feel nothing. I looked up online and found quite a few posts talking about less movements while having a cold/flu.

Not sure if anybody here had similar experience with baby moving less when you are under the weather?

21+2 today x

RPPs · 04/02/2020 17:24

@umabb yes that happens to me a lot. Some nights I'll have loads of kicking and then nothing for a few days. I feel more kicks now than that weird feeling when its doing a tumbleover. Have you tried sitting on the sofa like a sailor or wvwn crossing your legs. Cold dress and chocolate usually get a reaction too. Im sure its normal.

SearchingTheSkies · 04/02/2020 17:50

@umabb My movements still vary a lot and some days I don't feel anything. As far as I know it's normal. Not sure if colds can affect movement but hopefully your midwife will see you if they think it's necessary if only to put your mind at rest. I can't wait until movements are more consistent as it can be a worry when baby goes quiet.

I had my 20 week scan today and everything looked ok. I found out I'm having a girl!! Very happy.

Smiffette · 04/02/2020 17:54

@SearchingTheSkies congratulations another girlie! 💕💕

I'm still not feeling any movement! Really hope I do soon, it still doesn't feel real except for the growing tummy!

BabyBird20 · 04/02/2020 18:37

I asked my midwife about movements as was worried I wasn't feeling much if anything at 21 weeks. She said it's nothing at all to worry about at this point as they don't start monitoring movements til after 25 weeks which made me feel better!
