Hey everyone,

Hoping there will be some people moving over here from conception like me who just got their BFPs.

I’m currently 3 weeks and 5 days - feeling the bloat already and tiredness! Scared but excited :)

Could only see an Aug/sept bus and I’m a little later as my EDD is 18/09/2020

Did try and join the September bus that’s already on there but was lost in translation or something šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø As nobody wanted to chat, feeling a little lonely as the girls on the conception boards were so lovely and wish I had someone to move here with!

Anyway I’ll try and start a new one here and see how it goes :)

K8113 · 16/01/2020 08:54

@Mellymoo3 eeeeeeek that's super exciting!!!! For sure some strong lines there!!! Xxx x

Blondie7187 · 16/01/2020 09:45

Hi all, how's everyone doing? I find time is going incredibly slow and i feel like I'm anxious about it all! We had a MC with out last pregnancy trying for our first so I am just so eager to know that all is ok! I have been having some symptoms boobs like two cement blocks that are so painful and some nausea in the mornings after I eat! I hoping these are all positive signs!

Have an appointment with my GP in the morning hoping to get referred to the EPU for an early scan šŸ¤žšŸ» I'm 4+5 so have a long way to go yet šŸ™ˆ so hard not to worry!

K8113 · 16/01/2020 10:46

@Blondie7187 I'm in the exact same position, I'm worried stick! I have an early scan next weekend and will be 6+4 I am doing it privately as they wouldn't refer me as haven't ever had a baby before even getting a midwife appointment was a mission!

Your signs are all good signs, my boobs are literally redic! At night is worse when taking my bra off feel like they might hit the floor hahaha

Mellymoo3 · 16/01/2020 11:39

Hoping its a good sign šŸ˜€ im due 18th sep going of lmp but could change with scan i
Got a referral for a scan for 3weeks from now and going to drs tomorrow to get path slip for bloods

K8113 · 16/01/2020 12:47

Hi everyone, I've just been to the dentist and she was saying we need to keep up as healthy diet as possible plus vitamins super important for dental health whilst pregnant, she says our bodies chew through vitamin C&D at this time especially! Just thought I would pass on the message xx

IslayBrigid · 16/01/2020 13:16

Hey everyone, sounds like people are starting to feel the symptoms settling in !

@Flossie333 thanks for your message, yes I'm just trying to think positively and not assume the worst, but it's very easy to get worried! This is my first time being pregnant so nothing to compare it to. Just hoping everything goes well! I've realised my nausea is kept at bay if I constantly have something in my stomach. So been eating quite lot! It comes back if I haven't eaten for about an hour... It seems. I guess it might get worse over next few weeks, I am currently 7+3! My boobs have been sore too, esp when I wake up in the morning! They feel like sensitive blocks of lead.

@K8113 thanks for the vitamin tips! This is something I looked into obsessively when I first got my bFp. I'm taking a prenatal vitamin by Tera Nova, I got it at wholefoods it is a little more "natural" compared to the pregnacare ones but I think they all do the trick. Actually a lot of prenatal vitamins tend to not have a lot of vitamin d so you can supplement with that extra. My doctor said up to 1000ug is good but check with yours too. Vitamin d can also protect against miscarriage apparently so that's a bonus!

Right now I am craving pasta and not sure where I can find it in central London for cheap!!...... 🧐🧐

mimmi91 · 16/01/2020 13:43

So am I the only one who doesn't have any noticeable symptoms yet? Am only 4+4, but I don't have any nausea or painful boobs...
Except some painful cramping the few days after my BFP, and slightly bigger and sensitive nipples, I feel pretty normal!
I'm very tired in the afternoons, but I think that is due to the lack of coffee.
It's stupid, but I'm almost wishing for more symptoms, so that I can "feel" pregnant!!

K8113 · 16/01/2020 14:19

@mimmi91 (for some reason its not letting me tag) the only symptom i have is sore boobs and being tired no sickness or appetitive change, only major thing is my AF never arrived which i guess is a major one. My sister in law didnt have any symptoms at all and she just had her third and literally didnt feel anything until the end when she was massively pregnant. I wouldnt take it as a bad sign at all, i guess we are all so different :) Congratulations anyways if i havent said it already in the chat somewhere, I cant keep up hahaha xxx

Flossie333 · 16/01/2020 18:23

@IslayBrigid ah lovely- well over half way to 12 weeks, what a lovely feeling. I know it's hard to be completely positive but I'm really trying to. I've begun to crave red wine which is annoying!! šŸ˜‚.

Question to you ladies- I have a few dinners with friends in the next few weeks which I am already dreading with the no drinking thing. Anyone else struggling with this?? The issue is that my friends know I've never done dry January, and I also annoyingly never drink gin and tonics so can't hide behind a fake one of those... I'm not a big drinker at all, but have never been known to say no to a glass of wine with dinner. How are you all getting around this? My friends are like hawks and I just don't want to tell anyone yet! I have one dinner in particular which will be really hard to not have a glass- do we think one tiny glass of wine will be ok, or do I need to come up with another plan šŸ˜‚ xxx

Flossie333 · 16/01/2020 18:25

@mimmi91 hey! I really only started getting sore boobs about a week ago (I'm 5+4) and apart from that have no other symptoms... except maybe being more sensitive than usual although that could be january haha xxxx

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 16/01/2020 18:28

@Flossie333

I’m almost completely T-Total so don’t have the no alcohol issue. Could you drive to your dinners?

MommyCuddles · 16/01/2020 19:39

IslayBrigid · 16/01/2020 19:55

@Flossie333 ah yes that is tricky! I've basically been avoiding some friends for this reason haha. I've told a few of my close friends but don't want to tell anyone else. I'm just such a bad liar tho. Is it at all conceivable that you could have decided to do dry Jan this once?? Could you sell it somehow that you've had a recent health kick and "new year, new you" or you want to just try it to see what all the fuss is about?
Re one tiny glass. I think likelihood it would be fine BUT you may then worry a lot about it after. My sister was recently pregnant and decided to drink a little wine occasionally and be a little relaxed and then she sadly had a miscarriage. No idea if it's linked of course but you never know, and I would myself find it hard not to worry it was linked. I've heard that first 12 weeks we really should cut it completely as that's the riskiest time and perhaps after that the odd tiny glass is fine but even then, better to not. Xx

K8113 · 16/01/2020 20:05

@IslayBrigid we told my in laws tonight ... not planned at all but turned up and they had a beautiful bottle of very expensive champagne opened and we were to celebrate a huge milestone in their lives and then i said no to the champagne (which by the way is unheard of) and then I text my other half and said shall we just say I can't lie it kills me and we told them and I have never seen such joy and love, thrilled and have been sworn to secrecy! Anyways I'm avoiding social situations as much as possible but guess there is only so much you can do!!! Xxx

abwebbs · 16/01/2020 21:16

Hi mummys 😁
Is there a private fb group already set up? Am struggling to keep up on here šŸ™ˆ

IslayBrigid · 16/01/2020 21:28

@K8113 oh wow that's sounds wonderful! I do think it's good to go with the flow a bit and tell people if you really want to! At the end of the day, if something happened you would need support. So a few trusted people who you love and love you can't hurt I'm sure! Sounds like a lovely evening :) congrats again! We have told my parents and my OHs parents coz just couldn't keep it secret! Is it your first baby/ pregnancy? Sorry if you have said already, I find it hard to keep track šŸ™ƒšŸ˜‚

@abwebbs that's a good idea! I don't think we have set one up yet? I would be keen what do others think? Xx

francis05 · 16/01/2020 21:34

@abwebbs i'd be up for joining a Facebook group, totally agree that posts can be hard to follow on here.

Told my Mum & Dad this eve, it's my Mums birthday so sve was thrilled...there were lots of tears!! Xx

K8113 · 16/01/2020 21:57

@IslayBrigid yeah first everything!!! I'm super close to my mother in law as my mum passed away 2 years ago so wanted to share with her for that reason as well (I'm an emotional wreck about the whole thing) just know my mum would have loved to have been a grandma so I just pray all is well, I'm just constantly in fear that something might go wrong just need to try and worry less (but I'm such a worrier)! What about you, is this your first? Xxxx

K8113 · 16/01/2020 21:58

@abwebbs so keen for a Facebook group x

MommyCuddles · 16/01/2020 22:10

Facebook group sounds good to me

Toofa · 16/01/2020 23:42

Hello lovely ladies. I’m up for joining a FB group. I’m new here and finding it hard to keep up on this thread
I had my first HCG blood workup today and repeat on saturday. Finger crossed!!
I am 4 weeks and 4 days; no symptoms yet just the pain towards my pelvic area.
I am already scheduled for my first scan on February 5th (7 weeks 3 day) and obgyn will read it on the 7th.

notasillysausage · 17/01/2020 05:06

Hi everyone please can I join, I’m 5 wks 5 days, due on 14 September.

This is my 5th pregnancy, I have 2 lovely children and unfortunately have had 2 miscarriages. I’m feeling ok at the moment, no real symptoms apart from a bit tired and achy, and I think I felt a bit sick yesterday but not sure if that was in my head Confused I am a bit anxious about the lack of symptoms and considering an early scan.

Need to stop the obsessive pregnancy tests soon - it’s costing a fortune! Grin

notasillysausage · 17/01/2020 05:10

@K8113 I’m so sorry about your mum Flowers it’s lovely that you are so close to your mil. My dad passed away when I was a teenager so never met my husband or children, but I keep photos out and my eldest knows all about him so he still feels part of our family. I know what you mean about worrying too - I’m a worrier and really struggle with early pregnancy unless I’m getting constant symptoms. I’ll get less worried when I begin to feel the baby move (fingers crossed!)
