Hey everyone,

Hoping there will be some people moving over here from conception like me who just got their BFPs.

I’m currently 3 weeks and 5 days - feeling the bloat already and tiredness! Scared but excited :)

Could only see an Aug/sept bus and I’m a little later as my EDD is 18/09/2020

Did try and join the September bus that’s already on there but was lost in translation or something šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø As nobody wanted to chat, feeling a little lonely as the girls on the conception boards were so lovely and wish I had someone to move here with!

Anyway I’ll try and start a new one here and see how it goes :)

Ladies that have had children before what goes on at the first appointment? Is it something I need to force my husband to come to or not?

I called my GP thinking I need to book an appointment (as it says to do everywhere!) and she said I didn't need to I just need to self refer to midwife services which I've just done and should get an appointment I guess šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø.

Officially 4 weeks today. I have lost my appetite completely which is unlike me!!

Flossie333 · 13/01/2020 11:52

Morning! Please could I join?

I got my BFP on the 4th Jan and estimate that I am 5 +1 and so due around 13th Sept.

So far only symptoms are my boobs are massive and tender (the right is also bigger than the left 🄓) and I am feeling very emotional.

No sickness yet and definitely have put on weight....

I'm trying to go to the gym about 2-3 times a week but taking it very gently.

Seeing my GP at the end of this week and then think I'm going to book in a private scan for next week.

Feeling so anxious as this is my first and see so many pregnancies end in miscarriage on here, just got to take each day at a time. I had horrendous cramping on Saturday which freaked me out but it hasn't seemed to have come back and I didn't have any bleeding.

Nice to find a bunch of ladies to chat to! Xxxxx

Sunflower2019 · 13/01/2020 12:22

Welcome @Flossie333 congratulations!!! šŸ’• I’ve had cramps too, totally normal 😊

@Krl2020 the first midwife app it’s best to as they need their details past medical history etc, unless you take that with you. Just lots of questions, Weight and height and blood pressure, and bloods. I don’t know if I’ll take partner or not, I guess he’d like to come but if he’s not overally bothered I’ll go alone. I still haven’t booked mine 😔 I’m too scared to talk to my Pervy dr! I have left a message for the nurse.. hopefully she can help.

Is anyone else constipated? TMI but hard work going to the toilet..

Got up and painted loads of kitchen cupboards must be mad!

Xx

Ps anyone start freaking out about labour yet?? šŸ˜ž šŸ˜‚

OP posts:
Krl2020 · 13/01/2020 12:34

Hi @Flossie333 congrats! And thanks @Sunflower2019 il bring him along...what is it with drs, mines not pervy but he doesn't let me speak haha glad I could just do it online. TMI toilet talk doesn't bother me either, I'm just constantly going (I don't know how I've got enough food in me for them to keep coming!).

Labour isn't scaring me yet, I'm more concerned about something going wrong still 😬

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 12:48

I've also cramped over the past few days, but they feel a bit different to AF pains, so I think it's just our uterus growing!
However I'm having bouts of CM come out, and each time I worry that it's blood (especially as I'm only 13dpo, so AF is not officially late yet...)

Not worried about labour yet, seems like ages away, and so many other things to worry about first !! Am also super scared of miscarriage. But did find some comforting stats online... If they are to be trusted, only 20% of pregnancies end in MC. It also depends on your age group... Under 29 years old, the risk is less than 10%... Of those, 70% are chemical (i.e. miscarriage in the very early weeks).

So I think we need to stay positive and relaxed, because otherwise we'll regret feeling nervous when thinking back to our early pregnancies! :)

And if a MC should occur, it's because the embryo wasn't viable... So there's nothing we can do (except avoir certain foods/drinks and ibuprofen)...

I think my constipation has begun, but I usually suffer from it so it doesn't really feel any different haha. In fact, I had the opposite problem last week ; which I think may have been due to implantation Hmm

Krl2020 · 13/01/2020 13:21

@mimmi91 I agree as hard as it is to stay focused and positive! On my self referral it asked wether I want to go for a routine scan or an advanced scan to which I picked advanced (obviously) just have to go to a different hospital for it, that's made me feel better too apparently you get all results within the hour rather than a week šŸ¤”šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 13:44

@Krl2020 that sounds really nice!
I don't live in the UK, so have yet to figure out how everything works (I live in France). One of my best friends is a midwife, so I think I'll break the news to her next week (before my family even, which feels weird). Hopefully she can assist me!

I have to admit that despite my worries, I find myself in a constant good mood :) Shit went down at work today, but I couldn't have cared less!! I love it hah!

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 13:45

Also, anyone else experience some kind of light burning sensation in their vaginal area...?

mimmi91 · 13/01/2020 17:58

By the way, I've found this miscarriage chart calculator online...

You can enter your age, height and weight, and the rates will be updated. They drop significantly day by day, which reassures me a lot!

You can click on the "reassure me" button, which kind of helps even more :P

Krl2020 · 13/01/2020 18:12

@mimmi91 I had this a couple of days ago really mild felt like there was a hot match in there šŸ˜‚ ah how lovely. Thanks for the link to the chart, something I'm going to show my OH as I think he's more worried than I am about something gojng wrong.

Also guess who's parents booked a holiday today for September 😳

Lazydaisydaydream · 13/01/2020 19:24

@kri2020 Oh no! Will you tell them now? The day I found out I was pregnant my parents started talking about the holiday they'd just booked and I panicked a bit, but it's a month after my due date so they'll definitely not miss it.

I don't want to tell anyone until after 12 week scan but probably would have done early if the holiday had been when I am due!!

Krl2020 · 13/01/2020 20:27

@Lazydaisydaydream I've had to tell my sister in law because I panicked which isn't ideal so I'm going to tell them this Friday which completely wasn't the plan. It's not just them going away it's them and their friends so it would be unfair to leave it! Me and OH can't believe it 😬

mammamon · 14/01/2020 06:29

Hi everyone:) we are currently on summer holiday here I NZ. I feel quite sick tonight. But hungry at the same time Confused my older boys can tell something is wrong but wont tell them yet. I have found the earlier you tell people the longer it goes ha ha but sometimes it cant be helped. With our first we went to a friends for dinner and I said no to wine and she figured it out so I told her. I still did not tell our families though for a while.

mimmi91 · 14/01/2020 07:03

@mammamon must be hard keeping it from your kids! I've started thinking about when to tell people... Will definitely wait for a long as possible before telling work. I'm on a fixed term contract until the end of October (I live in France, this is a pretty normal thing), so now I'll obviously have to take maternity leave before then... oops!!
I think I might tell my mum next week, just because I'll need her support if something goes wrong. But that kind of feels unfair to my dad/siblings and in laws... Will tell my midwife friend when I see her this week-end.

Do you think 8 weeks is an okay time to tell close family and best friends? I've heard that the standard 12 week wait isn't really done anymore (except with work and acquaintaces)...?

I had some horrible cramping last night, the only think that helped was to lie down... Had I not known I was pregnant, I would have thought a VERY bad AF was coming on (am dpo14 today)!

mammamon · 14/01/2020 08:45

Ok so here is a fun game to play I thought of while eating my kids sour lollies ha ha

You know your pregnant when........

You steal your kids sour lollies as the thought of them makes your mouth water

You think about food ALL THE TIME

Your starting to feel uncomfortable all the time. In closing sitting, lying etc

You send hubby out at quarter to 10 at night cause you need lemonade right now

Sunflower2019 · 14/01/2020 09:16

Omg guys.. literally think I’m losing it I just posted this in another thread šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ such an idiot!!!!

Morning,
@Sunshinexx95 you may not get sick!i didn’t with my last, feel yuck at times but just tiredness. I’m hoping it’s the same this time for me! I’m not napping and still going to bed later and getting up okay although at times I do struggle!

@ShiningStarz hey bump buddy! Omg I wake up and my boobs feel so swollen, and same with the discharge, keep thinking I’m bleeding and freaking out! I had a hot water bottle last night too, but luckily the cramps are better. I moved in bed last night though and omg it was so painful! I struggle to find a comfortable position and my back feels sore a lot.

How is everyone else? Sorry it’s a quick one I’m at work shortly so quickly wanted to stop in smile x

They prob think I’m a weirdo šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

@Sunflower2019 hahahaha!! Early pregnancy brain lol?
My cramps were also really bad yesterday (which also made my lower back sore), but feel much better today! Hardly even feel pregnant :O Hope it's not a bad sign lol.

SAME with the discharge! Have so much today... But luckily it's just white and not red hihi

Does anyone else compulsively POAS every morning...? :P Because I am!! On IC's though lol. The line is getting a darker each day, but is still not as dark as the control line ; so think that means HCG levels are safely going up. Can't wait to see a big strong line though!!

francis05 · 14/01/2020 12:29

Does anyone have any advice on exercise during pregnancy? I know they say it's good to keep active but just want to know how much is safe?

I play netball once a week and its our first game back after xmas, we dont play in a particular competitive league and not normally physical but I play center and can be quite clumsy, don't want to tell my captain yet but will stop playing if it's not safe. Also have a place in the London marathon in April, started training last week then got my BFP... Should I carry in training? I'm used to running half marathons and run a few times a week.

Hope everyone is well! Xx

melon91 · 14/01/2020 18:04

@francis05 I'm led to believe it's best to stop any sports that could cause anything hitting stomach. I train in martial arts and quit as soon as I got my BFP.

Anyone else feeling more nauseous in the evening? I'm fine most of the day (other that driving to work), but then feel dreadful from about 6pm. And SOOOO thirsty all of the time!

mimmi91 · 14/01/2020 18:07

@melon91 No I haven't even had nausea yet. How far along are you?

Read online that nausea probably only starts from 5/6 weeks, so I guess I've got at least another week of peace ahead of me hah!

Dipsy77 · 14/01/2020 20:59

Hi everyone can I join ?
I'm 42 mum to 2 girls 22 and 20 with my ex husband it's very complicated and they aren't talking to me at the minute. I
Also have a 4 month old girl who I had on the 15th September last year and this baby is due the 16th September !. I'm not crazy I did plan another just didn't expect it to be so soon but wanted to try again due to me not getting any younger and I want Ruby to grow up with a brother or sister with us been older parents Smile

B0220s · 15/01/2020 05:22

@Dipsy77 congratulations on your BFP hope you are well.

So my nausea has taken an increased step the past two days I feel awful 24/7 literally from opening my eyes in the morning, until two days ago I felt sick at times but come afternoon/ evening as long as I relaxed I was actually able to eat and keep food down, however the past two days has just been a write off I'm still force feeding myself in the evening even a small amount so I can take my multi vitamin but Jesus I've felt crap!

Also is anyone else absolutely covered and I mean covered in spots, it's not even funny I seem to wake up everyday with a new one despite the fact I'm continuously cleaning my face twice a day! I'm absolutely covered šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø
I've had a few cramps but nothing to call home about they were much worse
For the first week after my BFP. I'm 6+3 today, hope everyone's well Smilexx
