Ok. So just realised our thread had been moved and closed so I hope you all find your way back to this one!

@RLI1105 congratulations! Am glad the emc was a positive experience!

@Comps83 I know the feeling, I'm sitting bouncing but it hurts my back now. Am also sniffing sage oil but it smells rank. My midwife told me I would need to have a field of pineapples for that to be effective so not to bother, am just doing lots of walking now

Comps83 · 23/12/2019 15:12

Had sweep this morning . Doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my Xmas baby Sad

You never know, there's still time! Try and stay positive! I was hoping I'd be on time but seems not, but there's still time yet!

bespokepaininthearse · 23/12/2019 16:53

@Comps83 what did they say? I remember my first sweep they weren't able to reach so couldn't do it really, was so disheartening

Comps83 · 23/12/2019 17:01

It wasn’t open much and quite far back so she told me to get a birthing ball

Hi everyone, congratulations to everyone who has had their babies in the last few days! And fingers crossed for everyone else for their babies soon.
My experience didn't go quite the way I wanted it to but cannot fault the care from everyone at all. I went in for induction on Saturday, they popped the balloon in and when I sat up it broke my waters... quickest balloon ever lol. So, because they were artificially broke, I had to stay at hospital. By 11pm I started with cramps which were tightenings. By sunday at 2:30 I was taken to the labour suite and after waiting a good few hours (due to emergencies) I was put on the drip which really ramped them up. My mum came in to be with me and my partner and I'm so glad she did, she was a huge support! Through out the night I had loads of checks and things were progressing well but I wasnt managing to drink much and after half a cup of water I actually projectile vomited 3 times 🙈 which was real fun. Literally covered myself in it and just missed mum and mw. Anyway, carried on after but because it took a good 12 hours or so to get to 10cm the consultants came to see me and said I'd need to be taken to theatre if I didn't progress into labour as I had been on the drip long enough. I actually did an hour of pushing before they came to say I would need theatre help as he was facing sideways in my pelvis. I ended up with a spinal and forceps delivery but the care was great and my baby boy was born yesterday at 2:19pm, a casual 12 days late!

@jpaws congratulations!
Sorry it was so tough and hope you recovery quickly . Did they say when you can go home?

@jpaws congratulations, hope recovery goes well :)

I'm due on Friday but had a growth scan today. The sonographer told me everything seems ok but then I had to see midwife who has completely done a 360. She told me baby was big before and now stopped growing and that maybe the blood isn't going to the baby but no way of telling. Her approach was so negative and scared me so much, the report says everything is fone but her view was completely contradictory. She said you may aswell have an induction, I will book it. I'm really confused and dont feel very confident as to what to do next :( baby is moving well but now I'm scared.

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 24/12/2019 13:06

@jpaws sorry to hear about your experience but congratulations on having a beautiful baby at the end of it!!

Dec19baby · 24/12/2019 13:37

@Skb90 I would arrange to see either your MW again or a consultant. It's totally not acceptable for them to just say "I'll just book an induction" when you're so confused about the situation. I mean, I've never had anything told to me by the sonographer, they've always said to me the MW will explain the results as such. But if it was as bad as MW made out then sonographer wouldn't have said anything surely? Definitely get clarification today, you don't want to be worrying excessively over Christmas. Sorry you've had that experience.

Funnybunnyfluff · 24/12/2019 14:43

@jpaws

Congratulations to you and your little boy. I had similar experience to you. But my cord broke and placenta is now kinda stuck in me after and mri scan and 6 days on hospital.
I will be writing a letter of complaint unfortunately due to the care or lack of care I received. Even down to giving me drugs I wasn't meant to have.
However having a beautiful healthy baby is the main thing I will mend over time. 😃

Wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to hearing from anyone who has an xmas day baby 🥰 x

PinkSpring · 24/12/2019 17:15

It was my due date on Sunday and nothing - better not come tomorrow.....

Dec19baby · 24/12/2019 17:42

@PinkSpring I'm the same due date. Husband's convinced it will start tomorrow lol I have had a few period cramps today and tight stomach, so will see what tonight brings! Lol

Comps83 · 24/12/2019 18:02

I’d rather he comes tomorrow than have to be induced. In fact I was really hoping for an Xmas day baby but I’m sure he’ll appreciate it if it’s a few days after when he’s older . Will try for a long walk in the morning . Just hoovered the house from top to bottom . Getting pretty bored now
Anyone else just not think to check the dates when they we ttc? Before I got my BFP I checked and joked that if we got pregnant that month the baby would be due Xmas day
I honestly just didnt think about the time of year
Whoops

Dec19baby · 24/12/2019 18:18

@Comps83 I genuinely didn't think about the dates lol I was so desperate for a baby, and when we finally decided I never thought to add 9 months on haha coz I would have skipped the month lol!
My husband is still adamant he doesn't want a Christmas Day baby, and although I hate a birthday on Christmas Day, I'd rather it come than induction any day. I'm only 40+2 so still plenty of time yet.

Comps83 · 24/12/2019 18:24

I’ll only be 40+7 when I go in for the induction.

I’ve just noticed my FLO app cuts off after today, as if every baby will be here by its due date .

Dec19baby · 24/12/2019 18:49

So far, I'm happy to wait for spontaneous labour until 42 weeks. Especially if everything seems okay and it's my first. I'm still positive! Grin
Would have been nice to have it arrive before Christmas coz I've gorgeous wee outfits for it Flowers silly things, but trying to stay patient.

PinkSpring · 24/12/2019 20:08

Our DD arrived at 40+2 so I was hopeful this one would arrive before or on this but nope, 40+2 today, had a sweep on Sunday and another today and he is not budging.

December2019 · 25/12/2019 21:28

Hey everyone well I had my Christmas Day baby this morning at 05:11am and he weighs 8lbs 7oz and his name is Charlie and he is beautiful
My waters broke after strong contractions and he was born within the hour
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope your all doing well xxx

Mamabear12 · 25/12/2019 21:40

Merry Christmas everyone. Did any babies actually arrive on Christmas Day? 😀

Mamabear12 · 25/12/2019 21:41
