Loopy, the PO have sent me a cheque for the cost of the seat!!! Finally!!

littleoldme · 28/08/2007 18:17

Ara - I got a support belt from the physio at the hosp. It makes a massive difference but is impossible to sit down in. The support belts I've seen for sale look pretty insubstanial compared to the the massive three strapped velcro thing I use. Either try for a physio referral or use some doubled over tubi grip on your bump as that offers extra support too.

Archie is a great name BTW.

No stretch marks yet but loads of nasty purple veins.

Went back to work today and now am absolutely buggered. 7 Weeks to go...

aikigypsy · 28/08/2007 18:18

Ara -- I'm getting cellulite, too. Never had it before. So far it's just all over my thighs. A week ago, I had gained about 25 pounds, but I don't think 3 stone is that extreme, everyone's different, and gains at different times.

I had a nice day today, with nearly normal energy levels for the first time in a long while. I do not recommend compouding jet lag with pregnancy-related tiredness, not at all. Still, nice to have some time getting better acquainted with my baby daddy.

My mother wants to call him my finace to her friends because she's a bit upset about the whole out-of-wedlock thing. My father is less bothered about it, I think.

ara · 28/08/2007 18:25

Thanks, I will try that littleoldme - I am waking up feeling as though my back is about to snap during the night - it's really sore actually and i keep waking up DP with my clumsy shape-shifting, trying to get comfy!!

Aiki - that's funny! My mum didn't tell her one friend as she was rhyming on about going to her DD's engagement party and how she knew it was because her and her partner wanted kids but didn't want to do it out of wedlock - made me laugh really!! My folks are ok about that although my Dad did remind me of financial security in the event of a disaster -being pragmatic i s'pose.

sparklygothkat · 28/08/2007 18:49

Pixie, my previous pregnancies ended at 35+5 weeks, 31+1 weeks and 33 weeks, only 1 weeks away now from when I had Dd1. Am hoping because this is a boy that I can hold on longer like I did with DS.

Hello everyone, so nice to read all the chat about matters close to my heart at the mo - names, backache, weight gain etc - makes me feel normal. V and weepy today, just tired and hormonal I think. One of my colleagues who is due at the same time as me really embarrassed me by pointing at my bump and saying it was enormous and was I having twins ?! She never fails to comment on my size and I am actually rather average and certainly no bigger than her so I don't really know what to say and today it just made me feel crap, especially as she said it in front of all my colleagues and I hate being the centre of attention. And I really couldn't give a stuff what size it is so long as my DS is healthy but I have started to bumping into her (no pun intended!).

On a lighter note, saw our mortgage advisor tonight and experienced my first breast leak . Luckily wearing a dark top. What a crap day! Hope you are all having a better one

sarahloumadam · 28/08/2007 20:17

Oh crapola now I have posted it twice as well! P.S. I love the name Archie and I am very jealous as DH won't consider it.

Pixiefish · 28/08/2007 20:23

ara- I'm 3 stone heavier than I was when I got pg with dd but I managed to lose a stone and a half before getting pregannt now so even though I'm 3 stone heavier than I was pre dd I've only put a stone and a half on.

SGK- Finger's crosses you go to term this time with all these medications you're on

ara - PMSL when I read your post ...."saw our mortgage advisor tonight and experienced my first breast leak" lol - was he that nice?!!
Sorry you're having a hard time at work though. Some people are just incredibly throughtless and blunt aren't they (apologies if I embarassed you with my comment btw ) She's probably just jealous because you look like a goddess of fecundity (is that the right word?) and she looks like she's just pigged out on pies

iris66 · 28/08/2007 20:39

Ooooooooops !!! not ara - I meant saraloumadam (sorry - my brain is really having an off day today )

sarahloumadam · 28/08/2007 20:48

Thanks Iris, is so nice to have a moan . Just had a horrible thought tho - hope she is not in this antenatal club! BTW the mortgage advisor was not nice in the way that you mean and actually a bit camp but my boobs obviously had other ideas! Or perhaps it was all that talk of interest rates .

iris66 · 28/08/2007 20:55

I like to think I'd be able to spot anyone I knew in RL on a thread like this - after all, we're all pretty open about what we do, where we live etc aren't we? (iris pauses, after a sudden cloud of panic envelops her, and quickly tries to remember what identifying info she's given away - and, more imprtantly, who may be reading! )

sarahloumadam · 28/08/2007 21:01

You're right of course we are all v,open on this thread, just read a thread the other day where someone was moaning about a friend then the friend in question stepped in and started arguing back - eeek! Was like the Jeremy Kyle Show. Didn't mean to panic you, ignore me. If my colleague was on here she would have no doubt pointed out how bloody big I was compared to her !

AnnainNZ · 28/08/2007 21:19

I doubt I would bump into any of you in RL, unless I was on an unexpected trip back to the UK!

Mind you, it turns out I do kind of know Easywriter...tiny world and all that...spooky...

littleoldme · 28/08/2007 21:22

Sarahlomadam - that's very interesting point re leakage. Think I'll keep a spare top at work just in case.

DH asked me three times if it was really ok for him finish the Ben and Jerry's. I said yes but now I want some

Pixiefish · 28/08/2007 22:33

It gets right on my nerves as well when people say I'm big- I don't particularly think I am at all

iris66 · 29/08/2007 09:47

littleoldme - I had a similar incident with a bar of Green & Blacks that I let DD finish off I could have cried last night when I realised there was no chocolate in the house

I (possibly stupidly) signed up to the FLYlady thing on monday (how to get your house clean/tidy & keep it that way - it's usually on active convos) so am feeling quite virtuous this morning. DS has a little friend coming to play in a little while and downstairs is giving the illusion that the whole house is clean Don't know how long it'll last though (probably only until Dh gets home & trashes the place Have a lovely day all.

mrsjetson · 29/08/2007 10:37

I never thought that the name Archie would be a bone of contention for so many people. I'm glad you ladies like it though - make me happy!

This LO has been awake, I swear, for the past 24 hours! Not kicking as such just squirming around!

Starting to very subtley panic about the lack of name. Although last night I woke up rather sharpishly because I'd had a boy!! At least I had a name to hand!!

I'm not sure if I mentioned but I DID at last have a clear out and I got rid of EVERYTHING from the boys last 5 years of clothes - apart from the outfits that were too sentimental for me to give away. I feel very good that somebody else now is benefitting from the masses!! It's quite emabarrassing how much you actually acquire over time.

We had 'Back to School' night last night where I was greeted with a mother decalring how much weight I had put on and do I not do any exercise blah blah. She claims (!!!) to have only put on 10lbs with each of her three babies. Personally I don't see how that is possible. They weighed a good 6 or 7lbs each - what about placenta/water/general stuff!? Maybe I'm completely wrong but...... Anyway in my little text book of pregnancy it says that by now a weight gain of between 19 and 23lbs is perfectly normal (I'm 19lbs). Naturally I was not very happy for the rest of the evening.

Must go have a good day everyone.

RGPargy · 29/08/2007 10:40

Morning everyone!

Sarah - Hope you're feeling in a better mood today. I was down in the dumps too the other day. Think being moody comes as standard with being pg.

My apparent stretchmark has now disappeared so i think it was just a mark left behind by my trousers Phew for that!

As for people commenting on size, when i was at my dad's BBQ on Saturday, my sister (who i haven't seen for about a year) said to me "so erm.... are you still expecting then?" I was a bit at this because I'm deffo showing a bump. So i held my bump and said to her "well i'm not normally this fat!!" to which she replied "well i dont know do i? I've not seen you for a year!". I was quite about this because it was just so typical of her to say something bitchy to me. It's blatently obvious that i'm pg! Then she said "oh your belly will just pop out all of sudden". (Cue me spitting feathers and biting my tongue!) She then went on to ask me if i remembered what it was like giving birth to DS and then proceeded to tell me it was a hell of a lot more painful when you're older. Gee thanx sis. Really needed your horror stories!

So now i'm beginning to wonder if perhaps i still do look like a pie eater and not pg at all!! DP keeps trying to reassure me that i do look pg, but there's nothing like a bitchy comment to put the seed of doubt in your mind, eh?!

Cant believe we're still having nice weather at the moment! Hope it continues and we actualy get some sort of summer!

back from clinic with my testing kit. About to eat lunch (bit late today) and then test again.

sarahloumadam · 29/08/2007 14:19

SGK - is this your GTT?

Feeling better today thanks but still feel that I could burst into tears for slightest reason - hormones are obviously rampaging! No more comments about my size today. People can be v.thoughtless - the only thing that you want to hear when you are preggers is "you look great, how do you feel?" All other comments about size, bumps and weight should be made illegal! RGPargy - I'm sure you have a lovely bump but IKWYM about comments making you feel grotty. My colleague also asked why I had opted to go to a mid-wife led unit before telling me horror stories about the local hospital..err..that'll be why then!

Anyone else got achy ribs? Finding it v.difficult to get comfy. When I drive I have a shooting pain through my arse! TMI .
