Here we are ladies- I'll dash off and link to the new thread from the old one

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Good advice Rg but did you have to mention donuts??????

Fiona- sounds like your house will be great when it's finished. My DH does things like too. Once he installed a new kitchen when he had broken leg.
I'm sure you've looked into but you have the right to stay at work for as long as you like . They can only force on mat leave if you have pg related illness after 38 , or it may be 36, weeks. that's apparantly what it says in the burgandy book which sets down the rules for Local Auths. But as you say, at least you can now go to the loo whenever you like.

Rg - to keep up with the thread I press flip at the top of the page and then click on add message. That way I don't have to keep scrolling all the way to the top and bottom.

Loopy - love the idea of a pipe and slippers 40th pressie

sparklygothkat · 22/09/2007 16:07

from what I got off my dad he thought I was due in a week or so I have told them repeatly that I was 5 weeks behind Lisad, but they ov. didn't listen. Mum then said that they will not be going till friday anyway, so they aren't joking.. I am just so pissed annoyed with everyone today...

sparklygothkat · 22/09/2007 16:10

if I had had normal deliveries before I wouldn;t be worried about them going away 6 weeks before my due date, but with my history I can go into labour at any point now

KaylaBmummy · 22/09/2007 16:10

Hi all - just thought id say hello again.

SGK - Hi - I perfectly undertand your anger and how you feel, I think family and friends just forget what pregnancy is like. I had the same on Thursday, I came out of hospital at 3.00pm, still achy and weak. By 6.00pm I had SIL's and family and kids running wild and asking when the kettle was going on again, and to top it all DH who was home asked why i looked crabby appartently I should be glad to see them all. Ha ha. men hey!!

RGPardy - I have laughed so much today at your posts about forgetfulness and the BBQ (sorry) but it reminds me of me so much and I have been doing this for months. My son and DH kill themselves laughing when I have a conversation and 2 minutes later ask the same question or start the conversation again ha ha. They keep telling me to get some medication and keep taking it. I also mix my words up and have lots of thingies and "you know whats" priceless. OMG I just read it goes on until the baby is couple of months old, there is no hope for me ha ha.

Loopymumsy - Hi - Yes lot better now, have to stay on antibiotics till 36 weeks to try and keep infection way, feeling bit more like myself today. Im seeing consultant on Thursday as Doctor thinks it best baby comes at 37 weeks c-section? uuhhh bit worryed but will discuss with him. My DH is a merchant seaman and is away every other week. Hoping the date given will be when he is home, but I am taking the attitude now as "what will be will be" as the last few weeks I have found myself getting a little depressed and think I needed to give myself a little shake and get positive again and keep smiling IYKWIM . Hope your well Loopy and thanks for chatting.

Chocolatehobnob and Iris66 - Thanks, yes, on the mend now, as I said earlier have to stay on antibiotics till 36 weeks but today i feel much better, pain not too bad. They call the condition Hydrophronsis when the kidney does not drain properly and infection sets in, very painful when its bad as I said hopefully baby will come earlier and i only have a few weeks to go.

sparklygothkat · 22/09/2007 16:13

on a nice note, my BIL from manchester has just driven down with my moses basket and nappies, that I got on ebay and a Mnetter and they collected for me. The moses basket is beautiful..

aikigypsy · 22/09/2007 16:45

I have a friend who claims that her brain snapped right back into shape the moment the baby was out... but she didn't breastfeed, so I think that might have something to do with it. I am not expecting to get mine back for years, but you never know.

RGPargy · 22/09/2007 17:43

Littleoldme - do you know what, i normally flip every single post i read, regardless of size so that i can just scroll down through it. but for some reason, i never ever flip this one. I have no idea why. I normally DO scroll up and down the page for hours, reading, remembering (!!) and posting my reply lol. Honestly, if i had a non mushy brain, i could be half dangerous!

Kayla - Glad my posts have put a smile on your face. I wouldn't mind if i had forgotten the date, but i just didn't realise it was a Friday night. Odd time for a BBQ if you ask me!! I've already gone through all the excuses i could possibly come up with to try and put the blame on someone else, rather than my poor pg brain lol!

Think i'm getting some nesting thing going on. I've just spent 2 hours washing up (yes, there was a lot), and then scrubbing the stainless steel kettle, toaster, bin and draining board, and i even scrubbed out the drawer of the washing machine as it was looking rather nasty and black with stale water in there. eewww!

littleoldme · 22/09/2007 18:08

I decided I was going to make us a lovely cheesy lasagne for dinner. Unfortunately I forgot got to get a key ingredient from the shop . Lasagne. Doh

RGPargy · 22/09/2007 19:28

I thought you meant for US then!! I was going to ask you what time you wanted us round!

Wouldn't it be fab for all of us to meet up in the future when our LOs are all here?

littleoldme · 22/09/2007 20:06

RG - Now that would be BIG lasagne. It would be fab to meet up once the LOs are here although we are spread far and wide [ I mean geographically of course]

RGPargy · 22/09/2007 20:11

lol yeah i know we are all far apart but it would be cool to meet up somewhere central for all of us.

Is a cheese lasagne a veggie lasagne??

RGPargy · 22/09/2007 20:12

oh sorry, just seen your post. You put CHEESY lasagne. Christ on a bike, my brain is doing my brain in!!

Hi there,

Sparkly, did you go to the funfair in the end?! What a ridiculous night out for a pregnant person, specially at the stage we're at by now...

Kayla, I can see why you'd worry about the week-on, week-off thing. Can anyone else come and help you with the lo during the first week on, specially if you're having a section?

RG Pargy, Loopsy, etc, I've had a Mumsnet meet-up, with Alicet from the October thread. (We happen to live near each other...!) It was great.

Oh and on the subject of chocolate hobnobs, I liked them at one stage in my pregnancy and think I OD'd. Now the thought of them isn't good... I'm onto chocolate digestives now...!!

Have a good night all of you - look forward to hearing about the fair Sparkly (!).

sparklygothkat · 22/09/2007 22:22

No didn;t go in the end, was supposed to meet up with everyone at my cousin's flat, but dd2 wouldn;t settle tonight and has only just settled, and I nodded off on the sofa. Guess I won't be seeing my best friend at all this weekend

RGPargy · 22/09/2007 23:21

Loopy - I didn't mean it took me 2 hours to wash up, but rather my whole cleaning thing including the washing up took 2 hours. I would of course LOVE a dishwasher, but alas, it is not to be just yet, until we have sorted out the kitchen/conservatory.

I would deffo love a meet up. I am so used to travelling for hours with my DJing thing that a 3 hour trip is a local trip to me!! Dunno what DD will think of the journey tho, when she finally arrives.....

Sparkly - you may not have been able to see your best friend this weekend, but at least you have been resting (kind of) and are still hanging on in there to LO!!!

Right, am off to bed now. Have a good sleep everyone! N'night! xxxx

sparklygothkat · 22/09/2007 23:40

well guess we are not best friends anymore

Easywriter · 23/09/2007 04:20

Hi all, am just back on line (only get to go on now again what with the plaster fest that is our house).

RGP - sorry, I SOOOO didn't mean to be arsey. (I my defence I've had a pig of a week and I guess it was/is just with me permanently). I shall refrain from posting till I am calm and zen godess like (see you all in a few years then !

AnnainNZ · 23/09/2007 06:57

RG, I did exactly the same thing as you last w/end - thought my friend's 30th birthday party was on the Sat night - knew it might be one of the last times I saw all my mates togethter before I have the baby - Friday night washed my "going out" maternity clothes ready for next day - settled down to watch TV. 10pm got a call from my friend wondering why I hadn't made it - yes it was on teh Fri night not the Sat. Had a pressie for her and everything.

jetgirl · 23/09/2007 08:44

RG - when I can remember where I've put a pen, I make notes while I'm reading, esp. if I've not been on for a bit. I'm the same at work too, the kids think I'm mental.

Little - Good luck with your lesson obs tomorrow. If they're A2 does that mean they'll be nice to you if they know you're being observed? My last obs was with the class from hell, though some were sweet. I have them again this year, but they're being nice to me now! I had toilet breaks written into my risk assessment so I could nip out of lessons if necessary, as long as there was another teacher around to keep an eye on the class while I was out of the room.

I bought my husband the stripy dressing gown when he was 27 and the slippers last Christmas when he was 28. I needed him to get out of bed faster, and not walk around the house wearing his dirty shoes, so I call it training him! It's working

Fiona - Little is right about the mat leave. On the other hand, if this is your first enjoy the time you will have to yourself for the next few weeks, as you won't have it again for a bit.

Iris - hope today wasn't too upsetting for you. How far away will DD be from you?

We finally managed to get a name out of our dd for the baby yesterday. She thinks it's a girl, and wants to call her 'Football' though I think this might have something to do with the shape of my belly.

sarahloumadam · 23/09/2007 09:00

Ahhhh baby Football! It could catch on. I was out with some friends last night and their little girl came home and said "I've made a new friend today, he is called Lucifer!!!!" Aparently Lucifer's dad has piercing on his head to screw horns on but is one of the nicest people you could meet. Funny old world.

Well I never made it to the NCT sale...got the times mixed up . Spent a v.frustrating day looking for decent maternity clothes then gave up and bought a top in a larger size. Anyone else think that maternity clothes suck? Was also feeling like a big lump yesterday so that didn't help.

Hope you settled your DD in ok Iris. Must be strange/exciting seeing one DC off and just about to bring the next one into the world!

My DH is definately ready for slippers. Last night he announced that there are certain things that he loves about getting old (not even 40 yet!) like a nice cup of tea and a biscuit, not caring what people think about him so much and Radio 2. Over the last few years he has also started to have little snoozes at random times - he is ready to be a dad! Actually it was me that wanted this baby and he is now sooooooo excited that it makes me want to blub . Will have to work on him for number 2!

SGK - yesterday sounds like it was a write off, hope today is better. Fairs are rubbish at the best of times. Hope you patch things up with your friend or rather hope she makes it up to you.

fiona76 · 23/09/2007 10:40

Morning!! I couldn't sleep very well last night seems to be very uncomfortable and was up to the loo 3 times. Feel a little dazed today.
The tiles are now being laid on the kitchen floor .
Just found out DHs friends had twins on thursday she was only 31 weeks so finger crossed that they are ok. She had a boy and a girl so can't wait till they are home and I can have a cuddle. Haven't heard any other details yet as men don't ask the right questions.

littleoldme · 23/09/2007 11:26

Jet- thanks for the good luck wishes. The kids will be lovely, they always are. It's just a ? whether my brain can function at the level required!

RG - The lasagne does in deed contain meat. However, if you are veggie I would be more than happy to supply a portion of my bad ass veggie moussaka. I love cooking.

Sparkly - sorry your mate seems to be so pants. Hope you manage to work it out.

Fiona - hope your mate's twins are ok.

Sarah - I know what you mean about mat clothes being annoying. Blooming Marvellous do some excellent t shirty tops which are smart enough for work. They are gathered at the sides so there's plenty of room to expand. Crucially they are long enough as well which most of the other mat stuff I've got isn't. they are little on the pricey side but I've got three and that's all I wear at the mo. Obviously pants and trousers as well but you know what I mean

here's the link if you fancy a look.

RGPargy · 23/09/2007 16:48

hi everyone!

Easy - nooooooooooooo!! I didn't think you were arsey!!!! I think it was more a case of me trying to be a smart arse and then you putting me right with the facts of it all lol. Certainly took no offence and didn't think you were being arsey at all!!

SGK - have replied in your other thread. Your "friend" sounds more hassle than she's worth!

Anna - So glad i'm not the only one that got something so wrong as the date of a party lol. I felt more sorry for DS than anything as he was really looking forward to going and seeing his little cousins etc.

Jet - I bought my DP a dressing gown last Christmas (i think?) and that was before we were even TRYING for babies lol! Also lol at baby Football!

Sarah - I agree that alot of maternity clothes do indeed suck, especially if you're on the larger side to begin with. There's just nothing out there for big ladies that are pg! It's almost like pg clothes manufacturers dont expect us big girls to be able to get pg or summat! In the end i just went to Evans and got the next size up on my tops. They are still fitting me and have ample room for growth so i reckon they'll do me til the end (hopefully!). I'm lucky enough to be still in my normal trousers too because i have to buy the next size up too, due to my "curvacious" thighs. Not sure how long i'll stay in them for tho. I can see myself living in trackie bottoms when i'm on mat leave!

Fiona - i didn't have a good night either. It was the loo that was the problem for me (which is unusual!). I woke up with a really really sore and swollen dangly bit at the back of my throat (i have no idea what it's called!!!). I must have been laying on my back and snoring like the beached whale i'm starting to feel like, lmao!!!

littleoldme - ooooh no, dont hold the meat!! I'm well into lasagne atm as it goes, with big fat steak chips. mmmmmm...... My DP however is a born and bred veggie which means it has opened my eyes a little bit with regard to veggie cooking. I do like a bit of veggie stuff too!

Hope you're all having a good Sunday. Poor DP had to work this morning and was up at 5am, being picked up at 6. Still, he was home by midday and he came and woke me up coz i was still in bed lol.

RGPargy · 23/09/2007 16:52

Hey i've been thinking - with regard to a possible meet up, why dont we all state our locations (sorry, but i cant be bothered to look through everyone's profiles!) and then we would have more of an idea of a central location for everyone?

Anyone interested? if so, put your location on a list. I'll start:

RGPargy - Kent
