I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

I know you are not supposede to use an underwired bra whilst pregnant or breastfeeding, but think they just offer more support. When i was measured she pulled me up so much i felt like madonna.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/08/2007 23:07

BB a maternity bra does not have wire for the following reasons: The rigid wire may interfere with the natural changes in size and shape of the breast during pregnancy. This may obstruct the increased blood flow or "squash" of the developing milk duct system, causing pain, discomfort and possibly mastitis. they recommend you get one fitted as early as 6 weeks! Hope that helps

BabyBratt · 25/08/2007 16:32

Thanks for that, I did not know about the underwire thing. I think I will invest in one or two when I come back from my hols. Still not up with all the rules yet

splishsplosh · 25/08/2007 20:55

Rainbow Days - good luck for Monday.

Anyone found any attractive maternity bras in bigger sizes? All the nice ones seem to stop at about a c cup.

Bravissimo are good for large sizes, but v plain last time i looked. Hate losing the underwiring as feel all droopy without it. I went back into my old underwired bras in the end even though still breastfeeding and doesn't seem to have caused me any probs though. I know it's against the rules, but I felt better when my boobs were perkier!!

Still don't feel at all pregnant, can't believe it before scan and that won't be for about 5 weeks probably. Don't even get to see gp till 8 weeks.

EllieG · 26/08/2007 11:18

Hello all - been away for a few days. Went to a friend's wedding which was a bit dull tbh in the evening, as everyone was just getting drunker and drunker and I couldn't! Never mind, will hopefully be worth it in the end.
Why was your day horrid on thurs scorpio? Are you better now?

KnitterInTheNW · 26/08/2007 11:22

Splishsplosh- JoJo Maman Bebe(.co.uk) have some pretty maternity and nursing bras, that go up to a size 40DD. There's a nusing bra too that goes up to 42F.

TheMaskedPoster · 26/08/2007 11:39

Hi all

hope all are well etc

Haven't read through much of the thread lately as have been concentrating on keeping ms at bay (and tiredness)

hope scans are going well. I will endeavour to get back into the swing of things soon...

Peachy, how was camping?
xx

Rainbowdays · 26/08/2007 17:14

I am feeeling very very sick and very very tired, so tomorrow had better show a healthy baby on the scan. I am also getting to be the size of a house as I am continually grazing on food to keep me from throwing up. Now I remember why I never wanted to have another baby!!!!!!

OP posts:
Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 26/08/2007 18:48

I feel really crappy today my back/side pain is a lot worse (I dont think the 3 hours round the carboot pushing the pushchair with DS 3 would have helped!)

Anyway I am starting to panic slightly I hate this not knowing if all is ok with my Bud. The pain seems to be a burning pain which goes from the middle of my back to the left side then into my bum then down my inner thigh not nice!

lemonaid · 26/08/2007 20:49

Peachy -- going slightly OT... we've been thinking for a while of picking up camping again (DH and I both used to do it when younger with our own families, and did a little bit pre-DS). Reading through the very informative posts on MN (most of which seem to be from you ) it sounds as though for a family of four we really need at least a 6-man tent. DH is tall (6'4") so that implies we'd be looking at a tunnel shape, I think. But most of the 6-man tunnel tents I see recommended on here come in at greater than 5m x 5m, and other posts imply that it's very difficult to get pitches that big on most UK campsites these days. So what's the perfect solution?

(It is sort of on topic, as it's the impending arrival of DC2 next April that means we will be a family of four and hence need a bigger tent...)

lemonaid · 26/08/2007 20:50

TLSM -- sounds like "overdoing it" pain rather than anything sinister relating to the baby to me.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 26/08/2007 21:24

I do hope so Lemon my DH gave me a back/side rub earlier and he said he could feel a small lump where I said it really hurt

Gangle · 27/08/2007 00:07

Please can I join? I'm due on 10th April, my first baby so this is all very very new to me! No real symptoms other than huge boobs, tiredness in the evenings, feeling bad-tempered and an aversion to fish! How is everyone else feeling?

lemonaid · 27/08/2007 08:04

If you are worried, see your doctor -- it's not worth running a risk.

lemonaid · 27/08/2007 08:10

And welcome Gangle!

EllieG · 27/08/2007 10:03

Hey Gangle! Congratulations! Is very nice thread with lots of lovely people, sure you will find it supportive.

Have just weighed myself and put on another 3 or 4 pounds! oh god it's going on at a scary rate and am only 6+2! I don't think I ate enough to justify that amount of gain last week either. Am going to have to be super-healthy from now on or will be size of house by time baby is born and have loads of weight to lose.

V1KK1M · 27/08/2007 12:01

Hi all and welcome to everyone new

I was in such a fowl mood yesterday I even scared my own mother! It all started as I couldn't find anything to wear. All of my trousers do not fit (I can do them up but can't sit down comfortably)

What makes things worse is that when I went shopping I had to buy 2 sizes bigger before trousers fit nicely, I was so unhappy that I refused to buy anything apart from 1 pair of trousers that I needed to put on.

I know we are all going to get bigger, I just wasn't expecting it to happen just yet. I'll admit I have been eating more sweets that I used to but it is not to excess.

Anyway I feel slightly better now I have got that off my chest and as soon as I hit 12 weeks I am going maternity clothes shopping as I should be able to buy the smaller sizes again.

Rainbowdays - let us know how your scan goes:-)

Gangle · 27/08/2007 13:50

Hi everyone. Just wondered, has everyone given up booze completely? I know the guidance changed a while back to say NO drinking in pregnancy rather than 1-2 units per week but wondered if everyone was sticking to that. I haven't touched a drop and wasn't planning to for a good while (certainly not til 12 week scan) but was hoping I could look forward to a glass of champagne at Christmas. What is everyone else doing?

aprilfoolsbaby · 27/08/2007 17:09

Hello All x I'm new too. I'm due on April 1st!!!! Poor baby x I had an appointment with the midwife last week and am waiting for my first scan in the next couple of weeks. I can't believe I am actually pregnant and have this thing ticking away at the back of my mind that something's going to go wrong. Does anyone else feel like this? Every twinge just makes me panic!

loisstella · 27/08/2007 17:18

hey guys, wanted to put my 5 cents in on the boob/bra thing. my boobs have grown too. Normally a size 36F - I am dreading what I'll look like in afew months. going to Rigby and Peller for my bras next week. I know they cost a few bob - BUT - like Gangle said - nothing is worse than made to feel yukkie when you get emotional over someone not getting thorugh in the X-factor (my lip quivers at everything at the moment).
I love the no nonsense and 'we;'ve seen it all' attidude at Rigby and Peller and they also seel some beautiful, great supporting bras.

Welcome to all the new people who joined over the last few days!

loisstella · 27/08/2007 17:20

Aprilfoolsbaby - same here - can't quite believe it and worry about the smallest things. This forum is brilliant though and the support you get from all the girls here makes you lots more comfortable!

Peachy · 27/08/2007 18:30

Lemonaid- i've never had an isue with a tunnel tent, because alothough theya re long (our Ontario is 7m), they are narrow on the toehr dimension. The caravan and camping club specifies a max of 7X5 for tents, which out humungous monster adgres to, so you should be OK with many tents on the amrket now. A dome might do you- there are some great designs about now with full head height- we used to have a Tahoma which was fab and only dipped in the bed pods, which we never had any issue with.

had a barbecue at mum's today and had to hide being sick from mys siters, although mum and dad know. No particular reason to hide it now really- but they didn't tell me until 12 weeks so bah . Had a when ir ealised sisters planning a joint Baptism (one is pg, other has an older child but after a specific school ) somewhere around my due date, as I lost a 'good' friend by being too lazy to attend her babies baprism (at midday of the day I birthed ds3- and I tried to get there but APed was too late to check ds3) I thought oh here we go again lol

Getting better bit by bit, but been hot by humungous ear infection now presumably as a result of not much food. Can't have the antibiotics, so just trying to sit it out- ouch!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 27/08/2007 19:05

Gosh Peachy hope your ear gets better!

Must admit I Christened my DS so he could go to the good school

I have felt all right alday until now have a horrid aching back and shotting pains in my belly trying hard not to read into it and putting it down to wind which I hope to god it is! will know for sure all is ok tomorrow morning at 9.30 so all have a little pray for me and my bud am so worried I dont know what I will do if they tell me the worst tomorrow please please let all be ok!

MrsThreads · 27/08/2007 19:45
