I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Weldome pad

daftmoo its aprtly my own fault, desperately don't want to go back on the meds- all but one I tried made me worse, and the one that did- well there's no known link, but with the asd's and even my NT child has a speech problem, I'm paranoid.

Dh has 4 days off from today so is ahble to help over the bank Hol, at least.

BabyBratt · 24/08/2007 09:04

Right Ladies I need a little reasurance. Have a dull ache on the left side of my about an inch and half above my thigh. It is not a stabbing pain. I can't really describe the pain.

Im hoping Im just paranoid but its definitely there is this normal are other people feeling this?

lemonaid · 24/08/2007 09:47

I've been havaing some brown spotting, so I've bitten the bullet and booked a privte scan at the FMC for 5pm today. She originally said they didn't have an appointment until next week but then I think she took pity on me having to wait over the Bank Holiday weekend and talked to the manager to squeeze me in at the end of the day.

I embarassed myself horribly by forgetting my last LMP date, though -- I was "26th July... no, 26th June... hang on a minute..." and I'm sure I came across as a complete numpty...

BabyBratt · 24/08/2007 10:38

Just got back from the docs, he cannot feel a lump so he says I am ok, He did not even explain which lump he was looking for but I guess he was checking for a lump in my tubes.

Lemonaid, if you don't mind me asking how much is a private scan? also good luck with everything, your going to see your bean tonight how exciting.

lemonaid · 24/08/2007 10:41

It's £100 in central London, but I know someone in Yorkshire who's having one tomorrow and hers is either £70 or £75, can't remember which.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/08/2007 15:14

BB is likely to be your ligaments stretching thats what they are putting my crappy back pain down too but still having the scan on Tuesday to make sure!

V1KK1M · 24/08/2007 18:37

Hi lemonaid,

Good luck for your scan and let us know how you get on?!?!?

I have a private scan next saturday (1st)and I'm really hoping that everything is OK. You just can't help but worry!

I'm still having dull aches but I have been told it is nothing to worry about as everything is moving and shuffling around.

I'm 8+3 today and can't wait for the next 4 weeks to be over (as I'm sure everyone else is the same).

Good luck to all those that are having scan's next week too I'll be thinking of you all.

lemonaid · 24/08/2007 19:17

FMC was great. They have me at 8+3 based on the same LMP date that the GP used to put me at 8+0, so I don't know how that works but three days isn't going to make a huge difference so not worth tressing about. Baby measuring right on track, nice clear heartbeat of 170bpm which is also apparently right on track, everything looking good. Obviously still early days, but PHEW! I didn't realise how tense I was until I wasn't any more IYSWIM.

BabyBratt · 24/08/2007 19:29

I am seriously considering a private scan, all this waiting is driving me mad.

Lemonaid I am so please for you I bet that is a huge relief.

TLSM, thanks for that, I know you are going through a similar thing. My hormone levels are high and they said they could not feel a lump but I still can't relax but they have not offered me a scan that is why I think I will go private.

I've seriously got to get a grip

modsaluk · 24/08/2007 20:19

I am so glad i have read all your messages, i am feeling very low at the moment, could cry all the time. Have not been (bedroom terms) since my last period and even though i am not in the mood in the slighest i feel a little neglected that he has not tried anything on, even though i know i would probably turn him down. I know how daft and silly that sounds just wanted to get it off my chest lol .

I have not had morning sickness as such but threw my tea up yesterday then felt fine afterwards, i also have to drive everywhere can not bear to be in the passenger seat we are going to the Sundown Park on Sunday with my DS who is nearly two so i think i will be a little tired driving there and back.

Boobs are still very sore and achey, i went to get some support maternity bras and they informed me i would have to go to a specalist for the next size, i felt like an elephant who was humongous, i know i am not a little lady been a size 18 but i could have almost cried there in the store.

Any way enough of me moaning hope everyone is well.

Sally

V1KK1M · 24/08/2007 20:22

That's great news lemonaid! You must be so excited.

KnitterInTheNW · 24/08/2007 20:29

Modsaluk, I'm a size 18 too, and the lady in M&S measured me as a 42DD for my maternity bras. They're on the tightest hooks at the mo but very comfy (I'm wearing them 24/7 only taking them off to shower and put a clean one on!) They had bigger maternity bras than that too, have you tried there?

modsaluk · 24/08/2007 20:33

No not tried there and after my response from Mothercare did not want to try anywhere else really lol they really made me feel bad.
I was measured at 44 E now i have grown in the eight weeks alone lol.

I am on the tightest hook too and feeling ok so might be ok with this size but will try M & S for my next lot, wanted to try those burgers off the advertisement too lol not sure if the cheese is ok though Gorgonzola i think it is.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/08/2007 20:49

I am a size 20 and a 42C so the same problems here althoughits harder to get the smaller cups in the bigger back size although I am ok in a 40c from mothercare thats what I wore last time am recycling my old ones. Glad that there are some other curvy women here we can moan together

KnitterInTheNW · 24/08/2007 21:00

I think someone said earlier that cooked cheese is ok cos the cooking heat will have killed off whatever it is that's a risk. Is that true ladies? We need to know!!

Ijust went out to the shed to find my bra box that was in the recycling and m&s go up to 42G. If I'm going to get much bigger round my ribs I'll be joining you at the specialist shop!

Peachy · 24/08/2007 21:02

I have the oppsoite problem, I'm a size B even in maternity bras LOL! Not that i'm tiny or anything (14) but its just the build of women in our family, we make it up in the hips dept though 9there is a phrase back home of godfrey bum, my maiden name )

Peachy · 24/08/2007 21:05

cooked cheese there have been a few MN threads on it in the past, as well

The key is the root of the risk: thorough cooking kills the bacteria. A bit like you wouldn't eat sushi but you would eat (limited) cooked salmon

KnitterInTheNW · 24/08/2007 21:18

Thanks Peachy!

modsaluk · 24/08/2007 21:22

Oh not sure whether to risk it or not now it says it is a blue veined cheese and to avoid it, however i did have a little Mr Whippy ice cream the other day.

Those burgers looks SO nice.

Peachy · 24/08/2007 21:24

'However, thorough cooking should kill any listeria, so it should be safe to eat food containing soft mould-ripened or blue-veined cheeses, provided the food has been properly cooked and is piping hot all the way through'

So stilton etc should be OK but it must be hot throughout

modsaluk · 24/08/2007 21:35

Another strange thing i have noticed, i have gone off Coffee. Only used to have one cup a day but the though of is makes me feel queesy.

Rainbowdays · 24/08/2007 21:42

Talking bras you are all so tiny.... I am a 36 H - yes H, before pregnancy. With previous pregnancy's I have reached a 38 K, I did not even realise that they made bras that big, and I was squeezing into the K at times, but could not get a larger size! I am still wearing the underwires during the day at the moment but going non-underwired at night. But I will have to get more maternity bras soon. I do miss the underwires!

I am keeping busy, trying not to think about monday, but failing miserably.

Lemonaid - so please to hear that your scan went well.

OP posts:
KnitterInTheNW · 24/08/2007 21:43

Me too... I'd gone from normal to decaf anyway (before I read that's as bad anyway cos of the chemicals) but the last few days I've made a cup in the morning and had maybe 3 sips. Don't think I'll bother any more!

modsaluk · 24/08/2007 21:49

Im sure everythingwill be fine Rainbow, i sort of feel the same, i dont feel pregnant really, having some symptoms but my first pregnancy was so different. i have had no signs to make me think anything has happened but like you can not wait for my scan, which is ages away 20th September.

Hope all goes well for Monday.

BabyBratt · 24/08/2007 22:09

Ladies being new to this and all the talk of bras, what is the difference with maternity bras?
