I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Gumbo, so sorry about your news, I know how hard it is.

Scorpio - in answer to your question, we were before the spotting started but now too scared - I know logically it makes no difference but I'm not seeing things too logically at the moment.

Doing much better today though - the spotting seems to have stopped and I'm feeling quite positive about the scan tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me...

ClairePO · 19/08/2007 15:02

We are Scorpio, I just assumed it would be OK - after all we did when I was pregnant before we realised so what is the difference a few days later? I figured they'll be enough time for abstinence when I'm the size of a bus and then post-baby.

bumpkin32 · 19/08/2007 17:56

Gumbo - sorry to hear your news. Have been there twice, so know exactly how you feel.

Good luck to everyone else. I've been feeling quite a few twinges and a bit of morning sickness so keeping fingers crossed...

Peachy · 19/08/2007 17:56

Gumbo - hugs XX

Not been about uch but thought i'd just sign in to say hi toe veryone, sadly my hyperemesis is returning (I don't ahve my old GP who prescribed meds from day 1 with the last 2) and I keep fainting / feeling really ill, so can't manage more than a few minutes on PC a day, that's about my being upright limit at the moment. Never mind.

Hopew everyone's OK

kookiegoddess · 19/08/2007 19:09

Hi everyone. Just to say bye to everybody - I miscarried on Friday. Don't ignore bad cramps! I wish everyone lots of luck, glue and love for stress free pregnancies and happy bouncing babies in April next year!

Best wishes, k

NoMoreHighHeels · 19/08/2007 19:38

Gumbo and Kookiegoddess - so sorry for you both - know exactly what you are going through. It's so unfair. Take good care of yourselves (and your DPs ofcourse).

MathairNua · 19/08/2007 19:41

Gumbo and kookiegoddess,

Really sorry to hear your news. Something on my mind quite a lot and my heart goes out to you both.

lemonaid · 19/08/2007 20:39

Really sorry to hear the news. I hope you are both getting some good support in RL.

Rainbowdays · 19/08/2007 20:51

Kookiegoodess - sorry to hear about your m/c too. As I said to gumbo earlier, take care of yourself and give yourself time to take in what has happened. As it was only a month ago that I had a m/c at 5weeks+1day it is still raw in me too. I hope you are both getting lots of support at home.

Gunbo and kookie - am so sorry. That's horrid, am thinking of you both and send lots love x

Scorpio - am very tired to bedroom antics not top of my list, but yes, we are still having sex, cos am sure is perfectly safe, and tbh, I have to have something nice at the moment! Between worrying about MC, becoming so bloated last few days that suddenly can only wear my fat jeans, and feeling tired and crap, I need a bit of that to cheer me up!

Seriously though - I am SO bloated, my clothes are getting tighter round the tummy already and have had to stop wearing smocky top things as makes me look about 6 months gone! Is this normal? Have to go to a wedding next weekend and have no idea what to wear cos everything is suddenly too tight! I've put on a couple of pounds in the last month as went on holiday and have been eating like a piggy since PG, but surely that couldn't account for such a big tummy? It really sticks out! (More than usual)

EllieG · 19/08/2007 20:57

Oh and hey to peachy - sorry you are feeling poorly lady. Keep in touch when you can.

Daftmoo · 19/08/2007 21:52

Gumbo and kookiegoddess - my heart goes out to you both, sending lots of hugs.

Peachy - I know what you're going through, if you need someone to chat to just holler Hun.

hope everyone is ok

x

So sorry to hear the news from the weekend Gumbo and Kookie...

Claire PO, I too had far too much to drink a couple weeks after I was 'fertilised'. My thoughts are: we didn't know ... there's nothing we can do about it now.
I'm being healthy now and limiting my drinking (had 2 small glasses of red on Saturday).
just look after yourself now - you'll be fine!

loisstella · 20/08/2007 09:09

Question for the experts....
I am due 21 April (last period 16 July) - I've signed up for several newsletters and 'pregnancy calendars'. In some of these I'm 5 weeks pregnant, others say I'm 6 (they have the same due date info).
what's that all about?
I am 5 weeks pregnant right?

Lorayn · 20/08/2007 09:20

Yes, you're about 5 weeks, my last period was the 4th july, am due the 10th April, when I went to my doctors last Thursday he said I was 6+3, so am now exactly 7 weeks. And you are 11 days behind me, so today would be 5+3 for you.

Lorayn · 20/08/2007 09:23

Oh, and Scorpio, when I haven't got my head over the toilet, or am making DP stand miles away from me cos he smells of w/e or my breasts are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too tender to touch, then yes, we are still having sex

V1KK1M · 20/08/2007 09:30

Hi,

Does anyone know what I can use for a coldsore? I do not normally suffer byt I have a huge one coming!

I also keep getting stitches in my sides! I know it's not an etopic or anything as it's been checked, I just wondered if this was another one of those hidden pregnancy syptoms that is not talked about much?!?!

scorpio1 · 20/08/2007 09:30

Hi

Thanks for answering my question everyone, we are a bit but not as much as when we were ttc, iyswim? just get so worried something will happen .

Kookiegoddess-so so sorry wishing you luck for the future.

yesterday was my friends bday and i went down to her pub, and my other friends 6 week old girl was there. everyone was like 'oh go on you know you want another one' etc etc. i was grinning away inside! we havent told any of our friends yet, nice to have a secret

everyone else well?

scorpio1 · 20/08/2007 09:32

V1kk1M, go to a chemist and ask the pharmacist. those pains are probably your ligaments stretching-progesterone sort of weakens and relaxs the ligaments, hence the pains and backache.

Lorayn · 20/08/2007 09:46

we aren't having it often either scorpio, tbh I just don't want it!! But that is the only reason.

V1KK1M · 20/08/2007 11:26

Hi, Has anyone got an FW8 form from thier doctor yet (the one that entitles you to free perscriptions)? My work require it to allow me to have time off for antenatal appointments.

Also, I have just had my first experience of wrenching to be sick and it is not nice!!!! I have sympthay for all of you that suffer from bad morning sickness!

loisstella · 20/08/2007 11:38

no forms yet. should I?
I am not seeing my midwife until week 16!

What about antenatal classes?
Someone mentioned to me to sign up for these ASAP?
Do I discuss this with the midwife at week 16 or should I get a move on?

LOL at Scorpio - you enjoying the secret?
I am bursting to tell everyone.
someone told me this morning I looked like I lost weight - and all I could do was grin and think: maybe... not for long though!

V1KK1M · 20/08/2007 12:57

Last time my GP gave me one as soon as I found out so I'm not sure what the protocol is as I have now moved.

As for Antenatal Classes, I am going to wait until I'm 12 weeks (just because I am being very cautious), then I am going to contact the NTC people who would normally send you a list of classes in your area. They don't appaer to start until 10 weeks before your due datye, so speaking it thorugh with your midwife at 16 weeks should be OK.

soph28 · 20/08/2007 13:00

hello!! I hate that I miss so much. Have just been too tired and busy to get much free time!
So sorry to hear your sad news Gumbo and Kookiegoddess big hugs to you both.

I haven't experienced any nausea yet but I don't tend to get morning sickness (lucky me, I know), but I do have a huge jelly belly and now it's going to get worse- going to have to stay really healthy and active this time around.

Haven't even thought about making a midwife appointment yet. Don't think I'll bother going to the doc I'll just make a booking in app in a few weeks time.

Am off to lie down now while my two are having a nap!!!

Lorayn · 20/08/2007 13:09

I planned on making a booking app with my midwife myself, like I did with DS, but even though this is my 3rd as I am at a new docs I had to have a doc app first, not seeing the midwife til 10th sept.
