I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Scoprio - if it make you feel any better my boobs hurt on and off, if I wake up early in the morning and they don't hurt then I sit there and panic and prod for a while and after being up for a couple of hours wish I haddn;t prodded so much as they then really hurt.

I think symptoms can just be off and on. I am also still having stomach cramps and pains which I find really worrying but when they disappear I'm also worried so there is no helping me.

Even seeing a heartbeat on the screen hasn't helped that much - still another 5 weeks to go until I'm out of the danger zone, although I'm hoping after the next scan on 1st Sept I will calm down dramatically and then with my final 12wk scan on 20th Sept (which is also my wedding anniversary) I will start telling people

scorpio1 · 16/08/2007 13:58

i have only told PIL and my parents. lovely having a secret!

Lorayn · 16/08/2007 14:00

Hey! Just saw scorpio on another thread and got told about this one!!
I found out I was preggers last week, have my first doctors appointment in about two hours.
Hopefully I'll manage to stop crying/vomiting for long enough to get there!!

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:02

Hi all
can I join please? BFP on saturday and 4w5 now. Over the moon but also very worried as I had really bad cramps yesterday and the day before - days period would have arrived. No bleeding and they have now disappear.
Have been trawling through all threads on this and saw that you had a similar thing before Scorpio - and advice you could give me would be so appreciated.
Not like period pains so much as aching where I think my cervix must be - as if it's just inside and no more? Does that make sense?!
Feeling fine other wise and no symptoms - oh how I long to be sick!

Any advice anyone could give would be wonderful. Being a first timer I'm so fearful of every twinge.

Thanks!
x

Hi Lorayn!

good luck at docs

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:04

V1 - just read your post - we must have been writing at the same time - totally understand how you feel.
I had a very early misscarriage last month so going for a scan when 6w. When did you have yours? How many weeks were you?
Such a worrying time isn't it? really annoyed that I can't just relax and be happy!

scorpio1 · 16/08/2007 14:04

Hi Dolly

cramping is normal. i had it so badly 1st pg that i went to A+E . its just baby settling in-i tend to sit down until it passes. they can be very strong, i know. as long as there is no blood, its ok, and as long as its not one-sided sharp pain.

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:09

Scorpio thanks so much for that - could cry I am so relieved to hear what you've said. Surely that's a sign being mega emotional?!
You know the thing I am most pleased to hear is that you had to sit down. Were yours worse when you stood up/walked about? Mine were. When I lay down they went away almost completely.
Found myself talking to it saying 'please don't do this to your poor old mum!'
Funny how you feel instantly connected to them isn't it?!

Hi dolly,

I had my scan on Tuesday and they dated me at 6+6 which was a few days further on than I thought.

You can't see that much but it shows you a little white flicker and for me it was obvious a heart was beating. I hope you scan goes OK, but I have read that sometimes they don't see them right away and you have to go back a week after too!

I would have an ultrasound every week if they offered them

Kirbo · 16/08/2007 14:10

I have been worrying so much the last 5 days as it feels like my period has arrived - the cramps are quite bad but it seems that this is quite common - I'm just trying to relax and assume that it's all my insides being re-arranged for what is going to happen next!

scorpio1 · 16/08/2007 14:10

yeah to worse when i moved-so i just sat until they passed, they felt really strong. still having the odd one-its ok, i promise! and i know what you mean about the bond-many a time i have realised i have been rubbing my tummy!

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:11

V1 - sorry just to say I mean when did you have your scan - not a mc. Wasn't sure if I made that clear.

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:15

You have reassured me so much Scorpio. So nice to have people on here to chat to. I'd be going round the twist otherwise! So good that we're all going through all the things at the same time.
Have been lurking on MN for quite a while now and have been following your thread on conception Scorpio (hope that doesn't make me sound like a stalker!) - really pleased for you and nice to be on here at the same time
Hope Scorpio's wise words help you to Kirbo. So hard to relax. I suggest you do what I'm doing and get the EPU nearerst you to give you an early scan. We pay our taxes after all so we deserve to be given a bit of early reassurance by the NHS!

V1KK1M · 16/08/2007 14:17

It's OK dolly1. I thought that's what you meant so that's how I answered.

It took me a good 6m's to start trying again and I think if I knew the anxiety I would feel I may have waited a little longer. Baby had other ideas though and decided to come the first month of trying!!!!

mc is such a horrible thing to experience but it is good to know that people go on to have healthy babies after! We just have to believe we are in the later group now!!!

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:23

V1 you are so right - we have to be postitive. I feel like I don't really have the right to be upset because it was so early (think it must be worse for those a few weeks down the line when they've got used to being pregnant) but it has really shaken me and I can't help but worry about this one too.
Let's just stay as hopeful as we can.
And I know what you mean about the scan evey week - I'd love that. Maybe we could all chip in for a machine and pass it around! Only kidding - in case you think I'm really crazy!
Off for a very healthy lunch now - at least if I do my bit if things go wrong I won't feel guilty.

Scorpio you are fast developing a MrsMcJ-like obi quality for making everyone feel better

V1KK1M · 16/08/2007 14:37

dolly, you have every right to be as upset as you like. It's not about when you loose the baby, it's about loosing the dream that you had a baby then it's gone!

However (on a positive note), this one is going to be a wonderful healthy baby and you can moan at it when it gets here about all the discomfort and worry it is causing you now (although I'm sure you'll forget about it when you finally see him/her)!

Good luck with the positive thoughts

vacaloca · 16/08/2007 14:41

Some reassurance for those with cramping: www.articlealley.com/article_145834_61.html

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:41

thanks V1 - really sweet of you.
Yes positive thoughts all the way - which is hard to do when you are eating steamed broccoli let me tell you! Still all for the greater good of this little sprog so worth it!

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 14:45

Vacaloca - how thoughtful of you to take the time to do that for us - thanks so much. Have decided not to freak about it any more - or at least try not too.
But that article really reasurred me so I really appreciate it.

Lorayn · 16/08/2007 15:00

steamed broccoli?? gosh, even the thought of it makes me want to vomit. all I can say is well done you!

dolly1 · 16/08/2007 15:03

Lorayn I have no ms - or any other symptom apart from the horrible cramps so just going on as normal. I'm sure in a few weeks I won't be able to look at a vegetable (well I hope so any way as ms must be reassuring in a strange sort of way!) but for now I'm fine.
Hope you're not suffering too much.

Lorayn · 16/08/2007 15:07

This is my 3rd so I knew what to expect, not too bad really, I'm quite good with the 'breath deep and don't be sick' tactics, I'm just soooooooooo tired, especially with the eldest home from school. Tbh, I prefer this bit to the heartburn I suffered with the other two.

scorpio1 · 16/08/2007 15:08

me too (tired) because my ds1 is home from school. makes a big difference. my DP is fight training too, so isn't about much either in the early evenings.
