Lcy · 23/07/2007 19:38

Thanks Holidays Queen i will keep you all posted x

spugs · 23/07/2007 20:29

yep agree with the condom covered vibrator comments i had 2 and there no bother, they dimmed the lights when i had mine so you dont feel quite as exposed. i hope everything goes well for you.

hows everyone else doing? ive had some wierd dreams, i ve had a couple where ive been bleding, one where i woke up and i wasnt pregnant, one where i had a baby girl and some that were so filthy i couldnt possibly mention there content on here as it would make all your ears bleed its all n the subconcious isnt it!?

i still dont feel particularly pregnant, my cramps have nearly gone but i dont feel very sick at the min, i do feel a bit off at times but then it isnt getting any worse.makes me worry

pipsqueeke · 23/07/2007 20:49

guess it's the time for odd dreams mine arre starting to get really vivid again

lcy - dignaty - what's that then! lol. I swear after having DS wiht DH seeing me being sick - and what felt like the whole hospital coming into look up my foof all dignaty etc went out the window! lol. (in truth it was only 2 dr's and 2 m/w's but felt like everyone!) lol. good luck for tomorrow thou, a closed cervix surely has to be a good sign? and brown is old so fingers crossed for you.

derah - same thing happened to a friend of mine so I guess it's possible - she went in thinking she was a 34D she went in when she was about 30 wk's gone and they said no mrs x you're actually a 32B - her DH was rather upset to say the least! lol.

glam - 5 times i'm still getting up with DS as/wehn/if he needs it in the night - on the understanding as I get bigger DH will do it as if I leave the bed it will mean a loo break! lol. also the choice of the hospital is up to you - go where you feel the care is best etc.

HQ - you're not being daft at all. as glam says see if your dr will do some blood tests for you, it should all be in your notes. there's prob nothing to worry about. I think we're all nervous when we have babies as it's such a vunerable time.

wobble/luoz - hiya and welcome to the gang

preg - still racking my brains -you're not form the beanie threads are you? (pretty sure the lady i'm thinking of has 2 DS's but not sure of the ages)

lol jack - madam! I'm so glad to have a boy at hte mo - althou DS has taken to flinging himself about incl today off of his highchair time he's out of there me thinks and in the big boy booster seat.

MOM - it's a good read isn't it - DH kept saying I was sad as I started it at 11am on the sat, and read all afternoon - he was playing wiht DS having quality DS time. lol. then it carried on all night till about midnight so sunday was thankful DS gave us a lay in! lol. and was finished up during his nap on sunday.

anyhow roll on weds when I can see the m/w, hoping something will start happening - are you ment to take a wee sample? I can't remember.

derah · 23/07/2007 20:50

Don't worry Spugs, you'll be fine. I feel pretty good too, but have decided to just be grateful rather than worry about it.

I have acquired my first bit of kit for the new baby... there was a battery-powered rocker seat thingie going on Freecycle, so I jumped on it. They're really not cheap but would be really handy to keep baby amused while I'm dealing with DD. And for free! It's in really great nick too. Just taken it all apart and bagged it to go in the loft, but am well pleased....

pipsqueeke · 23/07/2007 20:54

good on you derah, we've kept all of DS's baby things so don't need to get too much.

freecycle is fab thou - DS has had 3 garden toys form our local one he loves them

spugs - fwiw, I think symptoms do come and go. might be a lucky one who doesn't have too much sickness.

DontlookatmeImshy · 23/07/2007 21:15

Belgo - sorry to hear your news

Lcy - hope everything is ok. I had brown spotting with ds, also no sickness at all. Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Welcome to all the newbies. and hello to everyone else. Can't believe how big this thread has got.

I've been feeling really rough the last couple of days (serves me right after complaining about lack of symptoms lol). Think it's partly to do with the wedding we went to and really late night I on Saturday, but I've never felt so tired and sick. I had it so easy with ds I was spoilt.

monthlymayhem · 23/07/2007 21:30

Evening all. Belgo, really sorry to hear that, take care of yourself xx

Hopefulstork and Lcy, I have everything crossed for you, best of luck with the scans.

Spugs, I feel the same way - am really feeling pretty fine, with the exception of very sore boobs (especially as our street has bl*!dy speed bumps) and instead of being pleased I'm constantly worrying that lack of symptoms is a bad sign I am trying to relax and not analyse every twinge but it's easier said than done!

Hope everyone is having a nice evening

merryberry · 24/07/2007 08:35

{waves palely at everyone}

Sorry not around so much - feeling 90% ropey, nausea and vomiting. Hurry up and be over, this 1st trimester malarkey.

Have midwife appt next week. Will be interesting. Lots of q's to ask about who I will be seeing, where and when. There's some sort of nonsense going on about community midwife boundaries with UCH and my GP practice. Can;t bear the thought of fragmented, crappy, hospital based care again. DP has just had his tax bill cut by 3 grand, and we are contemplating hiring aprivate midwife, though lord knows we could do a lot with that spare cash, rather make make good the holes in the NHS. Like get the new roof we need.

sigh

Lcy · 24/07/2007 09:02

Hi everyone - thanks for all the kind comments. I will let you know how i get on x

timmyinatizzy · 24/07/2007 09:23

Morning. Not much to report here either. I'm feeling a little queasy first thing in the morning when I wake up buts thats it really. Still getting bouts of tiredness that come and go. One more day at work then I have 2 days off with dsd's. Can't wait for the lie in!!!

lcy - hope it goes ok today.

Had some good news from my friend, yesterday she had a little girl at 2.52am. Can't wait to go and see her, which I will do in a few weeks time as we are going on holiday near where she lives. I can feel the broodiness starting again!!

derah · 24/07/2007 10:35

Morning ladies

Sorry you're feeling so rough Merryberry. I was tempted to get an independent midwife, especially since I'm planning a home birth. My friend has had one for both pregnancies and raves about the care. But far far too expensive. Maybe go for the roof.....

Right, need to get organised, we're off to meet friends for a picnic in Bracknell Forest.

papaya · 24/07/2007 11:50

Morning May I join your list? I had a bfp 2 weeks ago but didnt want to post to early as have had 2 mc over the past 18 months (depending on if my dates were correct I think they were both before 6 wks) so as today I reached 6 wks I thought I would join you lovely ladies!! We havent told anyone, and are hoping to keep quiet until 12 wk scan if possible. Worried at every niggle, feel slightly sea sick and tired (but I could sleep at the drop of a hat anyway, lol so not sure if this is entirely pregnancy related )
I have one DD 2.6, and have estimated DC2 to be due 18th March. Have been on mumsnet for a few years now but don't post that regularly.....I am guessing that may soon change

I am also wondering whether I should call the midwife yet and get myself booked in? I am worried once I have phoned them I may miscarry and waste there time xx

Jackstini · 24/07/2007 12:38

Hi Papaya and welcome. I would give your Docs a call - some surgeries the doc sees you first and then refers to midwife, others do the opposite. Don't ever feel like you are wasting their time - it is what they are there for, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Lcy - been thinking about you today, hope to hear some good news from you later
I have had a couple of really queasy days and feel rough and tired - it is so hard too when no-one knows why. Is anyone else getting sneaky glances from friends? I am sure a couple have figured it out but just keep on smiling and raising eyebrows which makes me blush furiously
Boss is back from work next week so wondering when to tell him....
Glad someone else has mentioned vivid dreams - Pip, (I can't get used to not calling you Munz!) are yours still as raunchy as the ones we were having 2 years ago?!

fitzfrodo · 24/07/2007 13:02

Afternoon all, sorry can't read back to Friday when i was last on! Will defo keep upto date with the site especially as i'm now on countdown to leaving this place to go part time elsewhere..please could i be popped on the list.
Fitz live Wakefield-Due 2nd week March ish-DSS 4-Ds 11 mths
Didn't have any sickness until i read the thread last week and though god am i really pg with everyone else having so many symptoms but alas was chucking up at side of car at Nest Sale on Saturday..I'M NORMAL...however no sore boobs????
(back on sausage rolls and hot chocolate from Greggs as was with DS!)

pipsqueeke · 24/07/2007 13:20

lcy - how's it going chick?

jack - lol. i'm surprised you rememeber - god they were really really vivid and errotic I must say. so far they've not been anywhere near as bad as those - might be a girl after all then! lol.

papaya - agree with jack - ring the dr's and also see if you can about an early scan - will hopefully help to put your mind at rest.

timmy - awww good news then. bless.

merry - sorry to hear about your m/w situation - could the cash be split at all - althou a new roof would be proproty for us I think. can you do home birth and have a doula/ the local m/w's?

dlamis - sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rough as well

back off to reseach prams again - i'm being pulled back to a single again - I saw a friend's micralite today with the carry cot bit and thought it looked fab so am now thinking aboutt he possibliy of the M&P single with the toddler seat. as DS has taken to not sleeping in his pram anymore- and would only really want to sleep in the pram when we're out (which we have a stroller for) ooh the decisions! lol. he's also teething as well (fang's I think) so it's not a happy household here at the mo

fitzfrodo · 24/07/2007 13:29

Hi pipsqueek..how old is your other little one? I have seen a red twin pushchair with carry cot however hoped would be Mothercare kind of prices rather than M&P!
Also had raunchy dreams with ds (11mths) that kind of made it more bearable though

I'm sorry i haven't read through what everyone elses experiences have been over the weekend would love to chat to everyone though so anything i need to know?

Has anyone had a doula before? I interviewed 2 but they just wern't right for me (i wanted a mother figure and got some bird with 5 kids and mucky blond highlights with black roots..didn't feel confident she was going to put me at ease...although thinking about it... i fit that description aarrrgghh)

fitzfrodo · 24/07/2007 13:32

P.s Kidding about the description just realised i sounded like an arrogant asshole

pipsqueeke · 24/07/2007 13:36

lol. frodo - i've never had a doula - but I would imagion that you ahve to feel 100% happy wiht said person before letting them into your home during such a time - I for one wouldn't be ahppy at all at letting someone in unless I was 100% happy- and i'm sure many women would be the same - not everyone will 'click' so to speak but i'm sure when the right one comes along it will all be fine

my DS is 17 months - will be just 2 (or there abouts when the baby's born) i'm not keen on a tandum pushchair so thought of a side by side whic is fab for getting thru doors - as long as it's something like the nipper which a friend has but then again the seat's are not v wide and DS likes to have space and room! lol. ooh what to do for the best. lol.

3madboys · 24/07/2007 13:43

hello all, i am feeling really nervous and paranoid, i am now 8 weeks and i had a miscarriage 4yrs ago at this stage also it will be the anniversary of the miscarriage next month i know i am being paraoid as i feel tired and sick etc but i cant get a grip and feel like crying

i am at hospital this afternoon for a dermatology app and thought i might go to the early preg unit and see if i could see a midwife to talk to? do you think i am being silly, also i thought if i saw someone they might be able to give me a scan which would put my mind at rest? but i dont want to waste there time?

Lcy · 24/07/2007 13:47

Thanks all of you for thinking of me. DH coming in 10 mins to take me to hospital. I am dreading it (not procedure but possible news). I have worked myself into a frenzy reading about missed miscarriages!!! Will post when i get back.

belgo · 24/07/2007 13:48

3madboys - you certainly wouldn't be wasting their time. I hope they will be able to put your mind at rest.

If I become pregnant again, I will ask for a scan at about 6 or 7 weeks.

3madboys · 24/07/2007 13:48

good luck lcy, will be thinking about you, hope its not too uncomfortable etc. xxx

belgo · 24/07/2007 13:49

good luck Lcy!

HolidaysQueen · 24/07/2007 13:49

Hi everyone (and welcome to papaya!)
So I didn't have a nightmare that left me wide awake at 4am thank god - although I did have a silly dream which woke me at 5.30 involving me in Spain trying to talk to locals but understanding nothing cos they were speaking what I presume was Spanish...
Question for you guys who've been through this before - I'm loving all your advice so far so shall be pestering you all the time now . All being well, I'm going on holiday at 10 weeks pregnant and am worried that my shorts/trouser are just going to be too tight (already feel uncomfortable in trousers at the mo as my main symptom is cramping and bloating). I'm terrified of buying maternity clothes in case I jinx things but the sales are on at the moment so it kind of makes sense if I'll need stuff to get it now. Do you think at 10 weeks that it's likely that I'll need slightly bigger clothes or is it really only once I'm into the 2nd trimester that I need them - not sure how quickly I can expect to start showing? When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
Thanks!!
HQ xx

HolidaysQueen · 24/07/2007 13:50

Lcy - just missed your message as I was typing mine. Good luck. Thinking of you this afternoon.
