Oh Pipsqueeke,so sorry...my thoughts are with you

Rachel1963 · 31/07/2007 10:48

Sorry to add to the bad news, but I'm going to be leaving this list as well. Went for my re-scan this morning and, although the baby had grown well, there wasn't a heartbeat - she thinks it probably only died yesterday. Have got to make the same decision as Pipsqueeke now, whether to wait or go for the D&C.

Am finding this mc (my 3rd) particularly hard - previously I've lost them before this stage. This time round I've had no bleeding and I've had full on queasiness etc. But still not to be.

Hope all of you still on the list go on to have happy, safe pregnancies and healthy babies in March.

pipsqueeke · 31/07/2007 10:50

thanks girls, good luck with all of your pg's thou, and I hope to join another one shortly

rach - i'm so sorry for your loss- feel free to join a thread i've started in mc's we can do this together think i've just passed the sac now so will ring the epu for further advice.

imjin100 · 31/07/2007 10:53

wendyredhead · 31/07/2007 10:56

Rachel1963: many commiserations on a sad Tuesday morning for two of you. I hope you & Pipsqueeke can be a support for each other and wish you both strength and courage xxx

LoveAndSqualor · 31/07/2007 11:04

Oh, pipsqueeke and Rachel, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Hope you're as ok as you can be. Thinking of you both.

c4it · 31/07/2007 11:42

Really sorry to hear your news girls. I'm thinking of you

papaya · 31/07/2007 11:45

so sorry rachel and pipsqueeke xxx thinking of you both xx

papaya · 31/07/2007 12:05

piekin and c4it - I too am Rhesus O negative, they give all rhesus o neg mums anti D injections here, i had them as precaution at 16 week then around 20 something and then after I had DD as she was a different blood group to me doh! These are one thing I really wont be looking forward to as they really really hurt, the midwife said to me just before she ever gave me it, that the reason they are so painful is because the anit-D liquid they inject is similar to the same consistancy as syrup! oooouch!

monthlymayhem · 31/07/2007 12:15

Rachel, so sorry to hear that, take care xxx

Brazilianmum · 31/07/2007 12:40

I am rhesus neg as well and not looking forward to the injections. I am terrible when it comes to needles.

Piekin - I love to bake as well. Just bought a really nice book called Breakfast Lunch and Tea by rose Carrarini, she owns Rose Bakery in Paris.

On the prams debate I am leaning towards a Quinny Zapp as it is so compact. We live in a first floor flat and don't have a lot of space for a big pram. The only thing about the Zapp is that you can't get the moses basket for it. I am also considering the Mothercare Bugster as it's compact as well.

Got given a Mothercare catalogue instore and on the back of it there is a handy essentials shopping list for the new baby. The one from my pregnancy book wasn't great so will be following MC's advice.

Feeling very queasy today and almost fainted in the train. Had to ask some bloke to get up or I was going to fall on the floor. By the time I get to work I feel exhausted and ready to go home. Have to go to Hong Kong next week and it's so hot over there I will struggle to get out of the hotel.

Good luck to all of you.

piekin · 31/07/2007 13:03

Hi Brazilian Mum, take care in the heat and good luck with your trip!
C4it, and the others, Thanks for your exp. re. rhesus, glad you don't absolutely have to have those injections, ( I faint when I get jabs!), but am also bearing in mind that they may try to force me to have them . Will see how it goes and do some research into alternatives.
Am recuperating today as feeling a bit of the flu or something coming on, drinking ginger and lemon and crossing fingers I'll be better soon.
Dear Pip and Rach, really sorry to hear the sad news, please t.c and get some tlc from DP's. Good luck for the future.xx

Rachel1963 · 31/07/2007 13:28

Thank you all very much for your sympathies. I'm at work at the moment, thought it would be better than going home to bawl my eyes out on my own but frankly I'm struggling to keep things together. To make things worse, we're having a big party on Saturday - think I'll be OK by then to put on a smily face, but am beginning to worry that I'll start bleeding and cramping which might put a bit of a downer on things. AND I saw someone I know in the EPU this morning - I know she's had a mc in the past but didn't have a chance to speak to her today, so I don't know whether she's OK, should really call or email her.

As for the RH neg debate, that's something I'm lucky with as DH and I are both negative, so DS (and any future child we will hopefully be lucky enough to have) is neg as well. I had to take DH's blood donor card to one of my antenatal appts though to PROVE that he was and that I wasn't just scared of needles...

yardette · 31/07/2007 13:42

Dear Pip and Rachel - So sorry to hear your news. TAke care of yourselves and good luck for the future. xx

I'm a newbie here. 8 weeks and no real symptoms other than BFP! Not even that tired, no ms other than a couple of twinges of queasiness a few weeks ago. Naturally, the lack of symptoms is making me worry that things aren't right but I take heart from the fact that some of you seem to be having no symptoms at all either!
To make matters worse, I'm in an area where we don't have midwives doing booking appt - it all seems to happen at the hospital, which isn't until 13 weeks!! Feels like an eternity away....

Anyway - hi to you all.
x

merryberry · 31/07/2007 13:55

Aw, sh*t . I am really sorry to hear your news Rachel and Pipsqueeke.

HolidaysQueen · 31/07/2007 14:37

Hi yardette - welcome to the March 08 group, and more specifically to the no-symptoms club! Oh and I also don't get to see anyone for a booking appt until about week 12... Sounds like we have lots in common! Is it your first baby as well?

c4it · 31/07/2007 14:38

Thinking of lists of baby essentials - most useless item no 1 - top and tail bath. I never used mine!

DontlookatmeImshy · 31/07/2007 14:48

Haven't been on for ages as i've been feeling sooooo rough. Spent most of the weekend asleep!! Poor dh keeps chatting away to me and thinks I'm not listening or not interested. No dear I'm just trying not to chuck up all over you

Welcome to any newbies. Hope everyone isn't feeling toooo bad.

Sorry to hear your news Rachel and Pipsqueeke. Take care of yourselves.

yardette · 31/07/2007 14:49

Hi HolidayQueen and everyone
yes its my first baby too. (and you Holiday Queen?)
I know I shouldn't complain about the no symptoms really. But, I have this recurrent waking nightmare that I go for my scan at 13 weeks to find out that the test I did (okay, being honest to you all, the 3 I've done over the past few weeks ) were lying!!

xx

imjin100 · 31/07/2007 15:04

hello yardette, welcome and fear not. This merry band of worriers will keep you sane...or not! I've decided that whilst mumsnet is fab its actually making me more and more nervous, reading the really sda stories and dramas of others. Fortunately or unfortunately I am not at all busy at work so can endlessly read threads totally unrelated to my own situation and I'm making a promise to myself that I will only visit our thread so as not to freak myself out.

yardette · 31/07/2007 15:17

For a born worrier like me, it is very reassuring to find that so many of you are as neurotic as I am, but at the same time it is panic inducing to read about other potential problems I hadn't even thought (or worried about) yet!!
I'm supposed to be busy at work, but seem to have no will power and want to stay on this site all day now that I've plucked up the courage to add a post.
What is SDA by the way?

yardette · 31/07/2007 15:19

imjin..... i think i might have a bit of pregnancy brain, I'm guessing you meant to type "sad" rather than "sda" (a new acronym i thought i didn't understand!)

imjin100 · 31/07/2007 15:28

perhaps a reassurance that I am infact pregnant, inability to type is a symptom isn't it?...you're right I meant to say sad.
Sorry for the confusion. Already failed on promise and read something that has left tears in my eyes...when will I learn?
