Actually bloody hate ASOS! I swear they used to be good, I got most bits there last time.
Have wasted a frustrating hour or more trying to find a not-out-of-the-way expensive dress for my brothers wedding and even filtering on my size everything is out of stock. But you have to click on each to find that out, literally 30 dresses out. What's the point! Will be wearing something I already have now - but it's boring!

Whisky2014 · 19/05/2019 18:14

Hey does anyone know how long the Argos baby event is on for?

Dyra · 19/05/2019 18:27

@excitednerves I would have happily have gone for the Mamas and Papas Ocarro pushchair if it hadn't have been a little out of my budget (and we found the Nuna Mixx bundle instead). Light. Super easy to fold. Folds up small enough for the boot of the car. Great looking with a nice range of colours. If you like it, go for it.

TwittleBee · 19/05/2019 18:28

Is it too late to try eBay BBell2 ? It's where I got my dress for my cousin's wedding next weekend!

Didn't even know they had one on Whisky2014 hope it lasts till payday!

excitednerves · 19/05/2019 18:36

@kyles101 and @Dyra I did love it! Going to head to an M&P store to see it in navy next weekend - and may try a few more just in case. John Lewis only had it in pale grey with rose gold chassis - gorgeous but not practical 🙈

Dyra - I saw you got all your biggies at the baby show! Well done! Must be such a weight off!

@BBell2 - same with ASOS so infuriating!!! Good luck with dress hunting. Most of my stuff has come from next or topshop. Not needed to buy anything fancier than work stuff though.

kyles101 · 19/05/2019 18:48

@excitednerves once you've picked you can then scour the web for the best deal - not had a lot of experience with M&Ps but assume they have events on? But if you're anything like me once you know, you neeeed it!! Bournemouth baby centre was by far the cheapest online if that helps anyone, they had 10% off all bugaboos when I was looking and I don't think I'd come across anyone else offering discounts on them. Then, they didn't have the frame in stock (when the website said it did, so was saying delivery 3-4 weeks - obviously I couldn't wait that long - see above - so called them and they had black (more expensive by over £100) but they said I could have the black for £25 more as it was their website - bargain!!)

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/05/2019 19:44

DYRA! Which Nuna Mixx did you get? Does it really seem light? It is the heaviest on my wish list and the weight is holding me back!

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/05/2019 19:46

Re Mamas and Papas, i had a Zoom 6 years ago for dc3 and LOVED it. Used til she was about 2. They dont make it any more but was like a 3 wheeled version of a Sola.

I have also however used an Occaro and HATED it, it felt like a tank!

Hsunshine · 19/05/2019 20:50

@kyles101 I got my car seat & base from there, ordered it 7pm and it came next day

Hsunshine · 19/05/2019 22:45

Do I need to start looking at nursery’s now for baby to start when he’s 9-12 months?

Stroan · 19/05/2019 22:49

@hsunshine it really depends on demand in your area. We reserved DDs place when she was 3 months old, but now there's a year long waiting list for most nurseries in our area.

Maybe worth contacting a couple to ask when they'd recommend you reserve and have a look.

If you do HAVE to find a place now, and can do it, I'd maybe reserve a couple. I found that my attitude towards nursery changed a lot once I actually had a child to imagine leaving there!

Megan2018 · 19/05/2019 23:10

@Hsunshine
I contacted the 3 nearest to me and they suggested viewing once baby 3 months old for starting at 12 months, so roughly 9 months ahead. There’s more than enough places local to me and no long wait lists. I’m rural East Mids.

TwittleBee · 20/05/2019 05:41

@Hsunshine nurseries I wanted to get DS in originally all had long waiting lists, actually I only just got offered a place a couple weeks ago from one where I totally forgot to take his name off (DS is nearly 2....!). Ended up putting DS with a childminder but he's now moved to the nursery next to us.

excitednerves · 20/05/2019 06:57

A lot of girls at my work already have nursery reservations made (due around the same time as me). I hadn’t considered it at all but may start looking around soon. I’m in London though so prob one of the competitive areas to find nurseries in.

happydays00 · 20/05/2019 06:58

@Hsunshine it seems to completely vary, I would give a couple of nurseries in your area a call and see what they say re waiting lists.

@BBell2 oh don't talk to me about ASOS - I have spent at least 1 hour plus grossing for a dress in my size, in stock! I ended up ordering one off eBay (it arrives on Friday, leaving for wedding on Saturday) and found one on ASOS which is incredibly see through but very comfortable so will need to scout for some sort of pregnancy slip now so my giant pants aren't on view for all this weekend!!

BBell2 · 20/05/2019 09:16

@happydays00 & @ twittlebee you are both right will have to hit Ebay, I have a few weeks. ..you know when you just though "oh this is easy, loads I like really affordable" but no!

I Now have mondays off (full time normally with daft long commute), using up my holidays, it's so nice! Dd is still in her PJs when she is usually being rushed out of the door. She had watched a neglectful amount of peppa pig thus far but is made up!

Megan2018 · 20/05/2019 09:32

Just saw MW (23+4) and have my MATB1 form. Urine and BP fine and good heartbeat.
I am having the glucose test in 4 weeks time as have family history of type2.
I’m not having regular movement yet (feel something most days but no pattern)and MW says not to worry too much until 28 weeks. Obviously to contact them if concerned but she says with the position she’s in its not surprising so not to stress about it.

Dyra · 20/05/2019 10:22

@IVEgottheDECAF Not sure if there's other models within the range, but I went for the birch colouring (the pale grey with cream highlights). Weight wise, it wasn't the lightest of the prams I tested, but I could still lift one handed when folded just fine. It handled just fine on the test track as well. The extra little bit of suspension felt nice. It was also far and away the easiest to fold down out of all the prams I tested on the day.

I really was impressed with Nuna. The pram came bundled with a Pipa lite LX + car seat base + changing bag. We also bought a sling and a rocker/bouncer chair from them too. We also would have gotten their travel cot/playpen, but we figured that wasn't necessary straight away. Maybe next baby show.

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/05/2019 10:59

Did you get the carrycot dyra? How much did you pay if you dont mind my asking? I am looking at the Aspen colour (bluish grey)

Dyra · 20/05/2019 13:23

I thought the carry cot comes with the pram. So yes I am. The bundle of pram (+ carrycot) + Pipa lite LX (it's very, very light indeed) + base + changing bag was £663. The changing bag felt like a bit of rip off since the bundle with everything else without the bag was £599 on its own, but it is a very nice bag.

Dyra · 20/05/2019 13:26

*Aspen was a very close second in colour for us. I just liked the grey of the birch a little bit more.

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/05/2019 13:32

I googled nuna change bags a few weeks back and they were over £100! Crazy! I wouldnt trust myself to keep the Birch clean lol

TwittleBee · 20/05/2019 14:09

eek feeling so uncomfortable today, office feels like its sweltering and baby is sitting with his head right under my ribs and keeps kicking down on my bladder! Bloody heck, dont remember being this uncomfy until towards the end!

Megan2018 glad your MW app went okay and you got the form already too! Reassuring about the movements as well, do get checked if you are ever unsure though!

Megan2018 · 20/05/2019 14:34

@TwittleBee
I've got the complete opposite, baby still on the left, breech and very low down but curled into a ball, facing in and therefore kicking in - so I just get the odd flutter low down and nothing near ribs yet! Obviously there is still time for that to change but she shows no sign of moving as she's been like this for 5 weeks now. I am hoping she'll develop some pattern of movement though so I have something to notice.

MW offered the MATB1 so didn't need to ask and seemed to cover everything so I feel reasonably confident with her. She did say she won't be measuring me at appointments as I am on the growth pathway - they will record the scan results on my growth chart instead and they don't do both.

TwittleBee · 20/05/2019 14:58

Megan2018 he is still breech here too but just decided to move up! It's actually made my bump look like it has almost gone again just as I thought I finally popped! Makes sense about the growth stuff tbh, the fundal measuring a lot less accurate than the growth scans and no point wasting both times (although I do enjoy seeing how big my bump is getting! Is something you can always do yourself)
