@boodles101 so jealous! But I think you need the time with twins!
Let's hope it flies by.

I am usually pretty conscientious at work but I am struggling to care about any of it right now. Definitely coasting.

Megan2018 · 29/05/2019 12:48

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm sort of jealous but also not - must be horrid to be suffering.
I'm feeling really well so should be thanking my stars and cracking on but I have a bad case of not giving a flying fig about any of it...

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 29/05/2019 12:54

Just spent a good 30 minutes looking at the Jellycat website and newborn blankets. Really must do some work....! Not busy today (professional service industry - usual peaks and troughs) so am also finding motivation really difficult. 44 working days to go!

DustyDoorframes · 29/05/2019 13:32

Ouf @IVEgottheDECAF sorry to hear you are struggling- but v glad they've signed you off (although- you don't have brilliant sick pay, do you? Argh). Does it feel a bit weird to be off and away now?????

DustyDoorframes · 29/05/2019 13:34

Ps I'm not counting working days that will give me the heebies!!! I love my work, and it's a really exciting time with it, so I really don't want to leave it for months on end, but I know that I won't want to leave the baby for even a minute so it's going to be hard!! FOMO...

Megan2018 · 29/05/2019 13:43

@DustyDoorframes see I am normally like this! I love my job but I have just woken up feeling like it really doesn't matter any more. Very weird. I've been in this sector for 20 years and I am normally really passionate about it. But it seems to have literally vanished.

I'll be coming back - can't afford not to. I imagine after a few months of nappies I'll get the itch back. I do hope so, I don't want my brain to rot.

KnobJockey · 29/05/2019 13:45

I've just been very nearly asleep in my office chair. Literally, head back, closed my eyes for a second as they were sore, and came around 10 mins later. Oops!

TheCraicDealer · 29/05/2019 14:09

Just dropping in again….for someone who checked these threads so often at the start I’m falling behind way too much!

Still doing ok physically here (23w today) but boobs are leaking and have an insane amount of discharge. The amount of the latter is actually wild- have bought washable sanitary pads and breast pads as it seems I’ll get my money's worth out of them before the end of September Hmm Also- piles here too Envy I expected all this to happen eventually but not this early! Thought I’d get to 7mos or so before all this crap.

We’re off to France on Monday and I insanely thought this would be a good weekend to get the nursery furniture delivered, as well as have my cousin to stay [facepalm] On the upside, I got a BBHugMe pillow and it has genuinely helped my pelvic discomfort.

Also I was eating some granola this am and took the cusp off one of my back teeth. I have shit teeth anyway, but let this be a warning to everyone and keep on top of your pregnancy vitamins! Calcium stealing baby…..

Karigan195 · 29/05/2019 14:22

I think it’s all the throwing up and acid reflux that does for your teeth 😂.

In France be careful with the heat. I went to Spain at about 22 weeks and got a ton of braxton hicks as no matter how much I drank the heat seemed to dehydrate me. Plenty of fluid and shade!

Stroan · 29/05/2019 14:27

23 days left at work for me. Which is a bit stressful as I don't really have any work to do and they are going through a rebrand/restructure. I'm shitting myself about it all. My boss is a creative genius, but terrible, terrible manager and he's gone off on holiday without leaving me any work to do. Everyone else is ridiculously busy so I look pretty bad, I was really teary about it all day yesterday.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 29/05/2019 14:36

@TheCraicDealer glad to hear your pelvic pain is easing up with the pillow. They really are a godsend.

I have a big pregnancy pillow but I’m finding it’s not doing much for my bum/sciatic pain as it squishes down overnight. I’ve actually just bought a sciatica knee pillow to keep my leg upright at night and looks compact enough to shove in a suitcase when we go away next month. Might actually have to take it down to the beach because any length of time lying on my side without something propping my leg up and I’m hobbling along in absolute agony. Didn’t have any of this with DD1 so it’s all fun and games

TheCraicDealer · 29/05/2019 14:55

BridgetJonesDaiquiri I actually have sciatica too but my back has been fine so far [touch wood] I sit with a dense pillow in the curve of my back in the car and at work, and that seems to stave off the worst of it- doesn't help your core strength though. Pilates did help me, and I really need back on it as I can feel my previously limited flexibility is reduced already.

I haven't thrown up once with this baby! Must literally just be my shite teeth. Preparing myself for a crown tomorrow (if I'm lucky!), and not the shiny sparkly kind they talk about on the royal style and beauty threads.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/05/2019 15:20

It is a bit weird to think i probably wont work again for about a year!

I am just finishing up this years uni work until October as well. All that free time!

Megan2018 · 29/05/2019 15:22

Meant to ask you all this the other week:

Has anyone experienced this before? About 2cm around my belly button the skin is all soft and squishy and slightly raised. Belly button itself hasn't changed - but is this a sign it is about to pop out or something or just a symptom of skin stretching?

it gives me the proper heebies - I can't bear to touch it (although no pain at all),

Dyra · 29/05/2019 16:00

I think I've got 53 working days to go. I'm saving my annual leave to take in one big go before mat leave. So no weeks off now (unless I have more leave left than I think I do) until I leave. (Gulp)

Karigan195 · 29/05/2019 17:01

Just booked my annual leave that will run into maternity leave so 44 days left for me.

Getting scarily close! Labour doesn’t hurt at all right????

DustyDoorframes · 29/05/2019 17:06

@Karigan195 mine have really been fine, and in fact the second hurt so little that I ended up not calling the midwife until I was pushing as I didn't realise it was the real thing! The first was an induction and it was fine too. Obvs not everyone has that experience but plenty do!

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/05/2019 17:10

Mine hurt. All of them. I just try and tell myself every fucking pain is a bit nearer to baby. And i swear lots. Initially in my head. Possibly also out loud Blush

kyles101 · 29/05/2019 17:29

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm slightly jealous although in reality I bet it will be hard. I don't think I've ever had more than 2 weeks off before, and even a 2 week stint is fairly recent!

I'm very jealous you have your mat cover sorted @Megan2018 ... we're back to the drawing board for mine unfortunately.

Lol, @KnobJockey I don't have a back on mine so would fall off! Although I'm having a tired few days... how far along are you? Hopefully it's just a little phase??

Hello @TheCraicDealer I don't need pregnancy vitamins - for example today all of my nutritional needs have been met by orange juice for breakfast, a bag of cheesy puff crisps for lunch, and a handful of haribo and just now 2 twirls. Back to back. Balanced, no?

Poor @Stroan bosses are strange creatures. Could you help one of the busier ones in the office instead? Time drags if you're bored doesn't it.

Thought I'd cheer myself up by looking at how many days I have left after seeing all yours but mines around 57 - I think - still don't know when I'll be going properly until we can get cover sorted. I'll gladly go a week or two earlier if everything looks like ya going swimmingly during the handover.

MyHomey · 29/05/2019 17:43

I have 62 days left of work!! (Although am taking a week off during that!) but very jealous of those who are finishing much sooner!

db92 · 29/05/2019 18:58

58 Days left at work for me. Very jealous of all of you have less!

happydays00 · 29/05/2019 19:29

@TheCraicDealer omg I absolutely love my BBhugMe pillow and am genuinely taking it on holiday with me in a couple of weeks 😂 I had to have 19 fillings and 4 teeth removed after DD so I am absolutely terrified of the aftermath his time round!!! I did have hypremesis with her but it's still a concern!

I can't bring myself to count the days until end of work but the 2/3 pay days is enough to scare me!

Florencenotflo · 29/05/2019 19:34

I'm still undecided about what to do re: mat leave. I'm finishing on 6th August, taking 2 weeks leave and starting mat leave at 39 weeks. But I have 3 weeks leave left so I had planned to tag this on the other end. But now I'm just permanently knackered. I'm full time over 4 days so I'm thinking of taking another day off a week from the middle of June. But that'll eat into the leave I can tag on the end. I'm only having 6-7 months off so I really don't know what to do!

excitednerves · 29/05/2019 20:07

I think I have about 45 working days left! Finishing on 2nd August, 2 weeks annual leave (rolled over from this year) then mat leave from week 38! Literally cannot wait!

Applications are in for my mat cover. Eeeek it’s all feeling real!!!!

Sorry to hear so many of you feeling exhausted / in pain / generally not good. I don’t think I’ve had any BH yet just feeling like there’s not enough room inside for baby. Same thing or not? I have no idea.

boodles101 · 29/05/2019 20:18

So I've switched from Rennie's to Gaviscon. What the hell is this awful creamy sambuca tasting thing! It better bloody work cos that is just disgusting!!
