June 2019 - Part 7!

Hi ladies! Picking names, packing hospital bags - third trimester here we come! Smile

I thought I'd start out with the stats this time and I'll post the updated name list in a bit. I've just included the data that I have, since a lot of people are missing bits (or quite possibly I've missed their posts). We come from all over, so I'll put that bit in another post later as well.

Our average age at estimated due date is 33! That should help some of us who are feeling older.

And that's not just because we're all second-timers! In fact, most of us are having our first baby this year.

Baby #1 - 31
Baby #2 - 26
Baby #3 - 9
Baby #4 - 1
Babies 1&2 together! - 1

Fifteen of us are expecting lovely little boys, nineteen of us are expecting darling little girls, and at least sixteen of us are waiting to be surprised!

The average due date is June 13th, and the most popular due date is June 24th. We don't have anyone expecting on the 15th, 23rd, 27th, or 30th as far as I can tell.

And if you happen to have a baby on my birthday (June 16th), your baby will be born on Father's Day this year!

Fingers crossed you get to 37+ weeks @PaulHollywoodsSexGut sounds like a rollercoaster and the thought of GA and not seeing the baby must have been so difficult.

Wishing you loads of luck @swiftfox you're in the right place

My house is still a complete building site. If baby came I would need to move out. I haven't done my bag because of the amount of dust but now I'm thinking maybe I need to get it done and in the boot of my car??? I was kind of hoping if I ignored the quickly approaching due date then baby would stay settled till term but reading your stories maybe I am in complete denial??:s

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 12/05/2019 18:10

Honestly @ksjourney just get that bag packed and in the car; if it fits and won’t dominate the boot then just do it, honestly!

I’m still here in hospital, they have only JUST managed to get a drug combo that has stopped the palpitations now for a full 12h. What this means for discharge I don’t yet know but am taking every day as a win right now as there will be NO BABY DELIVERED THANKS this evening.

The knowledge that Monday is round the corner and a full consignment of consultants/obstetricians etc on site is a relief.

36 weeks today. Never did I think I’d be so glad to hit that landmark.

By the way @kescilly - YANBU. I would be hopping mad.

Napssavelives · 12/05/2019 18:43

My bag is half packed! Got the important stuff, just a few more things to add in. @PaulHollywoodsSexGut glad things have settled down a little for you, hopefully you can get a plan on the ward round tomorrow. @swiftfox been thinking of you this weekend, hope you are doing ok x

Daffydillo · 13/05/2019 10:06

Had growth scan today and now I’m really scared Sad. Baby is measuring 6lb2oz at 34+4, 96th centile head circumference, 94th abdominal. Normal legs. I’m terrified of hospitals and had hoped for a normal delivery but now I’m worried he’s just too big, but still don’t want a c-section. Wisdom and thoughts welcome!

Spargle · 13/05/2019 10:32

@Daffydillo Twins! I’m 34+5, and my baby is also estimated at 6lbs 2oz! Head circumference is not far above the 50th percentile, though (takes after his aunt - her head grew after she got out).

I’ve got another scan in 2 weeks, and we’ll see what happens then. He’s still within the recommended size lines (I think they go to the 93rd percentile? Perhaps the extra day makes the difference?), so the doctor didn’t seem worried. Might not get my birth at the midwife-led unit, but I’m not going to think too hard about that just yet.

In the middle of the GTT right now, so that might provide some answers. Having said that, I’ve given a urine sample taken about an hour after the glucose drink went in (but of a disorganised morning), and there was no glucose in it, so I’m hopeful...

Daffydillo · 13/05/2019 11:02

@Spargle my first son was 10lb8oz and 99.6th on the centile charts. I don’t know why I am so horrified at today’s scan!
I’ve got a life long fear of hospitals, anything clinical sends me into a panic. Seeing midwife later and consultant tomorrow. Had GTT both times, both negative so looks like I just grow big babies despite being 5”3. I don’t think I could even cope with the spinal for an ELCS Sad

Fizzytonicplease · 13/05/2019 11:07

Catching up on this thread is making me panic as i havent done my hospital bag yet! Good luck @swiftfox how exciting.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/05/2019 11:29

Being discharged today - YAY

knowing it’s on the basis that if there’s one more outbreak of the unstoppable rapid heartbeat I’ve got to present at A&E then it’s CSection time - nervewracking

I feel grateful and happy to be going home to normality and DCs but I also feel like a human powderkeg.

toomanyflatwhites · 13/05/2019 12:07

Paul that's GREAT news! I'll try not to say anything bloody annoying as I'm quite sure your medical condition isn't eased or exacerbated by you putting your feet up, but hope you have some support and can try to rest a bit in your own home. Though knowing you just moved I assume this is actually a hilarious joke I'm making! I'm guessing your mat leave has been pulled forward and you don't need to worry about work now though?

imtakingabath · 13/05/2019 15:40

Hope everyone's doing okay!

I keep feeling like my body is gearing up for labour but no major signs yet! Just lots of little period-like pains, and my hips feeling 'looser' somehow. And I'm pretty sure the baby/bump has dropped, as the angle at the top of my bump looks different! But yeah I'll probably just be symptom spotting for the next few weeks haha.

rollerskaterdata · 13/05/2019 17:33

@imtakingabath in the same position here, had early labour signs all weekend and then they stopped, so just feeling really twitchy now! Probably for the best though, my DS has a bad case of conjunctivitis at the mo and I wouldn't want to go into labour now and leave him! Hoping he'll improve in the next few days, I have a sweep week's end and if it works I'll feel much better knowing he's on the mend

Changingagain · 13/05/2019 18:22

One of dh's colleagues due at the start of June has just had her baby, it's definitely getting real.

Sweety786 · 13/05/2019 18:58

Hi I'm Due in June was hoping to join this group, I'm due June 4th

annihall · 13/05/2019 19:00

@imtakingabath @rollerskaterdata I'm another one who feels like things are starting to move forward...
I'm 36+0 and since the weekend I'm feeling a lot of pressure down there. Today I'm very achy in general and I'm getting period like cramps. I'm really hoping this isn't labour yet, I feel like I'm not quite ready and would like to hold off until early June at least.
Midwife appointment tomorrow, can't wait to hopefully get some reassurance that everything is going normal

rollerskaterdata · 13/05/2019 20:06

@Changingagain oooh congratulations to them! Won't lie, I'm a bit jealous 😂

@annihall fx baby holds on another couple weeks but I'm learning that even if your body seems to be getting ready labour can still be a while off. I'm getting really impatient now though, probably wouldn't be so miffed if things hadn't seemed to start a few days ago!

@Sweety786 welcome!

rollerskaterdata · 13/05/2019 20:07

And hope the appt goes well @annihall let us know what she says

allfurcoatnoknickers · 13/05/2019 21:05

EURGH. I had a good three week streak with just nausea, but no vomiting, but then found myself doubled over the toilet heaving my guts up today. To add insult to injury, the crippling nausea didn't even go away. I've been dry heaving all afternoon.

I was told there would be glow. I hate being pregnant. Angry

Sweety786 · 13/05/2019 21:16

@rollerskaterdata thanks, hope you ladies are all well. Been reading some of the messages and I'm in the same boat, feel like labour is on its way as backache and slight cramping the other day, but nothing!

@allfurnoknickers hopefully you don't have long to go, and tell me about it, I don't have glow aswell lol

rollerskaterdata · 13/05/2019 21:41

@allfurcoatnoknickers oh no, grim! If it makes you feel any better I never had glow at any stage of this pregnancy and I'm also hating being pregnant 😂 just give me the baby at the end of it already!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 13/05/2019 21:48

@Sweety786 @rollerskaterdata Thanks. I've actually had such a miserable pregnancy, my consultant agreed to induce me at 39 weeks because I can't bear to be pregnant a second longer than I have to!

Problem is I'm also dreading Labour and delivery, so I feel like it's a bit of an out of the frying pan, into the fire situation. Sad

99% sure this is going to be an only child.

WeeBean · 13/05/2019 22:04

@allfurcoatnoknickers I 100% feel you!! Still throwing up every damn day, this is definitely going to be an only child for us too. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you!

fee1234 · 13/05/2019 22:57

37 weeks! In the same boat as a lot of you ladies, keep thinking things might be happening then nothing.

Braxton Hicks are coming much more often and baby is now low down. Was feeling quite excited for labour but this morning all the pressure down there has resulted in a painful pile 😩 hope it goes before I have to push and make it even worse. Carpal tunnel in my fingers is getting worse too and my hands are frozen in claw shapes when I wake up. The joys, kind of can't wait to have my body back to myself..

allfurcoatnoknickers · 13/05/2019 23:26

@WeeBean Eurgh. It's so rough, isn't it? I'm so down today because I had a rare good day yesterday when I felt almost normal, and now I'm back to the nausea and projectile vomiting again 😭

WeeBean · 14/05/2019 07:01

@allfurcoatnoknickers it's horrible! We're on the home stretch now though, I cannot wait to wake up feeling normal!!!

Napssavelives · 14/05/2019 08:18

I could go for feeling normal! I’m so tired. I feel swollen and heavy and none of my clothes are comfy. Given I have potential c section in 2 weeks I don’t want to buy new clothes and I don’t want to wish the pregnancy away but to be honest these last few months have been so shit I’m ready for the next stage. For him to be here in my arms and safe and for me and the kids to start again as a new little family. Tired and emotional!
