@capybaras, that’s interesting I didn’t know that!

Jxtina86 · 09/04/2019 13:18

I'm using the kicks count app just because I like to see the number of sessions over a period of time. Also it makes me more conscious of noting it down somewhere rather than just remembering (which is just a struggle in general!) As for actual patterns, agreed it's not useful. It does show you sessions recorded between certain time periods but that all gets wiped over every 24 hours which isn't handy at all.

Speaking of kicks, I honestly felt like my insides had imploded this morning - walking to the bus stop and baby decided that was the perfect time to bear down hard! It wasn't pleasant at all and whilst i do love the reassurance of the movements and kicks, I don't need to feel like baby's trying to escape (yet!)

StargazyDrifter · 09/04/2019 14:13

Capybaras that's pretty much how my movements go, too! Also really lovely to hear about the lungs, thank you for posting that. 💜

BeckyButterfly · 09/04/2019 15:09

I also started using the kicks app but found it difficult to keep up with particularly during the day when at work since my phone has to be locked away so I gave up on it. I just keep a mental note that I usually feel her in the morning then again on an evening. I only start to worry if I don’t feel her at these times which seems to be the way today and yesterday..! I have felt the odd little movement today but not much. I think I’ll have a lie down and see if she starts moving. If not, I’ll give the midwife a ring to be on the safe side. Last time I went to the assessment unit with reduced movements they listened in and she was wriggling away..! I just couldn’t feel her.

AIDE2424 · 09/04/2019 20:04

I’ve had a rubbish day today 😩 headache that won’t go away, horrendous back pain sickness and just feel awful. I’ve moaned so much all day I’m sick of hearing my self so poor DP must be fed up of hearing me 😂

Hoping I’ll feel better tomorrow after a bath and a early night, hope your all well ❤️

Trying2bemum · 09/04/2019 20:22

@Jxtina86 glad you said that as I get this too. Feeling of pressure like my insides could burst out! Do you think it's baby pressing down? It's a bit unnerving

Giraffe888 · 09/04/2019 21:05

Hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow @AIDE2424 x

OneMoreWish · 09/04/2019 23:43

I have another sore throat that feels like cut glass when I swallow - went chemist and got strepsils with their advice....one every 2-3 hours does not make a bleeding difference!!!

Then I started thinking...

I first got pregnant in Feb 17, then breastfed and got pregnant again while breastfeeding. In all that time couldn't take anything for colds/ coughs etc that helps ( paracetamol doesn't help) then I realised baby due in July and I've got potentially another year breastfeeding so all in all three and half years with no cold/flu remedies I can take.

And then it hit me- men can't experience labour to understand what we go through but next time they have a heavy cold/ flu, sore throat or cough - no lemsip, no nightnurse, no lovely throat spray to numb the pain or cough mixture that works and helps. Then they would get a little bit what we go through as part and parcel of having a baby.

Lol who's with me? Maybe I should start a campaign hahahaha

Xxx

Giraffe888 · 10/04/2019 07:28

@onemorewish that made me laugh 😂😂

twickersmumtobe · 10/04/2019 08:59

😂 @OneMoreWish I think the pain of the man flu complaints would be too much 😉

thedust · 10/04/2019 13:07

🤣 @onemorewish

Just been for my whooping cough jab. Hope my arm isn't too sore after it. I'm working from home today because we've got workmen in laying the new floor in the nursery. We're going to order our furniture at the weekend. Exciting!

We go away in less than 2 weeks too so I've started packing for that. We're spending a week in a lovely resort on Turkey. Anyone else going on a 'babymoon'? (I do hate that phrase but it probably will be our last proper holiday for a while! Definitely our last relaxing holiday!)

Chinks123 · 10/04/2019 13:12

@thedust we’ve just had our Babymoon (started using the phrase as a joke and now I can’t stop saying it.) We had a week in Spain with dd, and then a mini break to Italy just the 2 of us. It was so lovely!

Dd is desperate to go to turkey but I think we’re going to save up and go after baby is born. I’m suffering with aches and pains and by the time summer holidays come it will be too late! Have a lovely time

thedust · 10/04/2019 14:16

Yes I think 2 week time is as late into my pregnancy as I would travel, I'll be 28 weeks. After that we've got NCT classes and then I'll be too big and uncomfortable I think. We are thinking of going away on some weekend breaks with baby while I'm on maternity leave, maybe to Amsterdam and another trip to Belgium with friends.

TwinkleDay · 10/04/2019 16:48

afternoon all. Had my 28 week appointment today.. however I am 29 weeks tommorow and they said baby is measuring bigger - on the top line of the centile chart thingy. If they measure big when I go back in 3 weeks I may need a growth scan!

Sounds like baby will be a giraffe after all like there daddy.. I just hope it big as in tall/long not a wide chubby baby 👶🏻... all folded up in there.

AIDE2424 · 10/04/2019 18:56

Opinions,

I’ve had a headache now for 2 days. Doesn’t go after paracetamol. It’s more painful if I lean forward. I’m on a daily dose of aspirin.

Checked my blood pressure twice and I know it might now be as accurate but it was 157/70 and then 147/78.

Usually every time at midwife and on home monitor it’s rougly 120/60.

I tried calling triage earlier and had no answer, shall I ring again? I felt really poorly yesterday with a bad back and sickness but felt better today but still have the head ache.

SnailorSwift · 10/04/2019 19:16

@AIDE2424 yes I would ring again if your headache isn't relenting especially with the BP reading you've had.

Best to get checked out.

I'm on daily aspirin and had PIH then pre-eclampsia in my last pregnancy so having twice weekly blood pressure checks and been told to watch for BP consistently at/above 145/90 (either number) as that's the point they feel they would start me on BP meds with my history.

Giraffe888 · 10/04/2019 19:53

Hope you’re ok @AIDE2424 I’d ring too x

zombee · 10/04/2019 19:57

Just found this thread and very happy! Due July 12th with a little girl 😊 congratulations to everyone else 💖

StargazyDrifter · 10/04/2019 20:48

AIDE I'd definitely ring. Two readings make a pattern. Not worth being all modest given the potential consequences, however remote.

I had my 25(ish!) week appt today, at 27+3 weeks, because of MW capacity problems. Got the whooping cough vaccine, baby measuring in 75th percentile (big given DH and I are small). Interestingly MW said GTT has to be done by 28 or 29 weeks, no later. So if you need one and haven't heard I'd ask. They are going to fast track me because I never got a letter and now it's all booked up for weeks.

twickersmumtobe · 10/04/2019 21:19

@StargazyDrifter
@thedust
Did you request the whooping cough vaccine or was it offered? It's not been mentioned to me at all. Hope I'm not meant to have it by a specific time into the pregnancy 🤔

@zombee congratulations and welcome 😊

twickersmumtobe · 10/04/2019 21:20

@AIDE2424 hope all is ok, I would definitely call just in case, lots of water and keep hydrated, sending positive vibes to you.

Giraffe888 · 10/04/2019 21:32

@twickersmumtobe my midwife mentioned it at my booking in appt that it can be had after 20 wks. I just rang my doctors and made an appt with the nurse. I think you can have it anytime to the end of your pregnancy

StargazyDrifter · 10/04/2019 21:44

twickersmumtobe I requested it at today's MW appt and she had a load of them in a drawer and was v happy to do it. Admittedly it was DH that did the research, but I gather it can be had at any time during pregnancy after 20 weeks, no time limit.

StargazyDrifter · 10/04/2019 21:46

Ah, NHS blurb here:

When whooping cough is particularly severe, they can die. Pregnant women can help protect their babies by getting vaccinated – ideally from 16 weeks up to 32 weeks pregnant. If for any reason you miss having the vaccine, you can still have it up until you go into labour.

AIDE2424 · 10/04/2019 21:59

Thankyou everyone!

Being checked. Got to go back Friday if no better and on weekly blood pressure checks now with midwife to keep a eye on things also got to listen to baby which was a nice added bonus! Told me to take some time from work but I’m on annual leave now till the 29th anyways which is lucky! xx
