Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

@Fortheloveofscience
No hives here, but have got a horrible patch of eczema on chin which looks dreadful. I scratched it and made it sore and now is has scabbed. Yuck.
I’d probably get yours looked at to be honest-suggests tgat something is upsetting your system. Have you changed any products/vitamins? Or eaten anything different?

abi2790 · 21/02/2019 07:21

Hi everyone. I haven't posted for ages but I've been trying to keep up. Congratulations to all those with lovely scans Smile. Mine also went well on Monday. I definitely feel a bit more relaxed now.

Is anybody else still feeling extremely tired all day? It's starting to worry me a little bit. Although my rational mind tells me it's the fact I have 2 small children, a big man child, third year of university and all the volunteer stuff I do!

Also last week I was offered a place on a postgrad degree which starts in September! I'm in two minds on what to do. I really don't want to defer but not entirely sure how it will work with a newborn!

DustyDoorframes · 21/02/2019 07:34

@abi2790 errr, yep, I'd say that combo of things might just be adding to the first trimester exhaustion!! That man child needs to step up! Can you cut back on some of the volunteering?
Starting a postgrad in September sounds quite ambitious. You do need time to recover from the birth, at least, even if it goes smoothly. Although you are clearly a master of higher ed with little ones! Do they do a January intake? Congrats on getting the offer!!

Karigan195 · 21/02/2019 07:41

I’m getting through each day with the odd lunchtime nap in the car, drinking my one caffeinated drink at lunch and going to bed ridiculously early for me so yeah. Look after yourself and try to get rest. First trimester is hard.

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/02/2019 07:41

abi i am on my arse, four dc, a job, man child and a degree ive barely touched since xmas

KLane · 21/02/2019 08:28

@abi2790 When I said to my husband the other day at 9a that I was exhausted and ready for a nap, I thought his jaw was going to actually hit the floor. As tired as I was last pregnancy while I was working, looking after a toddler full time has taken the cake in that department. I can't imagine juggling more children and a degree!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/02/2019 08:44

I could go for a nap right now

ChrisPrattsFace · 21/02/2019 08:52

Have my scan today. Debating napping from now until my appointment... at 3pm.
Seem to have a bit more energy but still ready for an early night and a nap each day 😂

Megan2018 · 21/02/2019 09:02

I’m struggling too-feeling like the worlds worst horse owner as not been able to ride at all after work for weeks. I am literally dead on my feet after work and tacking up and getting on feels impossible. Poor horse is bored to tears of just weekend rides.

Not too bad during day, no naps at work.
But I had the whole day off yesterday for scan, scan was early so we went out for breakfast after, home by midday and then just slept all afternoon instead of the things I’d planned. What a waste of an afternoon off!

DustyDoorframes · 21/02/2019 09:08

@Megan2018 that's not a waste!!!
This thread is turning into nap p*rn...
Ooooh karrigan nap in the car...
DP is taking the kids to his mum's for a few days from today and I'm "working from home" tomorrow. Nap central!!!!

ChrisPrattsFace · 21/02/2019 09:09

It’s never a waste if it was a good nap!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/02/2019 09:11

Sat in the gp waiting room considering putting head down on magazines ...... 😴

Parent19876 · 21/02/2019 09:21

I'm hoping I can join!
I'm eleven weeks on Saturday :)
This is my first ever child, and will be a single mom as the father doesn't want anything to do with me or baby.
I had my booking appointment last week and I'm hoping I get a date for my scan sometime in the next week.
I've had atrocious sickness lately, and can't wait to start feeling a bit better! And the anxiety is unreal, I know most of it is first trimester anxiety, and half is due to my personal situation, but have been having a very very hard time.

stroan · 21/02/2019 09:25

I thought I was going to accidentally nap in the car this morning! DD has been ill for weeks (cold, flu-like virus, ear infection and UTI) so no-ones getting a lot of sleep and general pregnancy tiredness is kicking my ass. I miss red bull and strong coffees!

boodles101 · 21/02/2019 09:36

My DS still has a lunchtime nap usually 1.5-2 hours so on my days off I've been napping while he does. I'm a zombie at work though as I only get a 30 min break.

KnobJockey · 21/02/2019 09:44

Hi Parent, welcome and congratulations!

I haven't been as bad as I expected for tiredness, which is a surprise really- I'm a tired person anyway! I'm feeling like I'm coming down with a cold pretty much constantly though, and I've had a throat infection for 6 weeks now, so I really should go back to the doctors.

Anybody else got really stinky wind at the moment, or is it just me? Blush I feel for my DP! I'm probably eating too many white carbs.

waiting4arainbow · 21/02/2019 09:50

Hey everyone,
Haven't posted in a while but have been reading through so lovely to see so many healthy scans 😊
So I just got my first NHS scab date through and it's not until 20/3 by that time I will be 15/16 weeks! Surely thats past the cut off for the DS blood tests etc?
I'm not to impressed the midwife told me it would be 14 weeks at the latest. Anyone else had this problem and managed to get it moved forward? X

Lavellan · 21/02/2019 09:55

I'm actually really glad to hear other people talk about the tiredness because this week (11) it's been almost debilitating. I'm just about getting through work but driving home with stinging eyes. Have to have a nap before I can tidy or cook. I have no idea how people do this with another child!

My app did suggest that this week might be one of "unbearable exhaustion". Couldn't put it better myself.

boodles101 · 21/02/2019 10:12

waiting4arainbow yes that will be too late to do the combined test. Give them a call and tell them and they should try to fit you in a bit earlier. If not, they can still do a quad test which is just a blood test to find out.

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/02/2019 10:21

Lavellan I am 11+1, hopefully it improves next week then

waiting4arainbow definitely phone them and try to change it

happydays00 · 21/02/2019 10:59

Oh god the tiredness!! I'm so pleased to read everyone else is feeling the same (misery loves company!) I was starting to worry I was being a bit pathetic.

@stroan my DD also has an ear infection and the multiple night wakings, plus Work, plus first trimester feel like they might finish me off.

11+2 today I think and wishing away the next couple of weeks!!

GemmaJen · 21/02/2019 11:09

@Megan2018 I'm very much the same, I clipped my main mare late December and must have only ridden a handful of times since then, luckily she couldn't give two hoots if she's ridden so that helps. The other one has been lame, not good, but helps with the no riding guilt. Just getting the three horses mucked out and sorted twice a day is more than I can cope with most days.

I'm exhausted but also severely lacking motivation to do anything, anyone else like this? I had an mmc last November so feel very much in limbo until the 12 week scan. I've had early scans, but I don't seem to be able to relax, I'm hoping that changes after 12w and it starts feeling more real. But in the meantime I just feel mentally stuck 🤷

Megan2018 · 21/02/2019 11:33

@GemmaJen
I am so glad I moved mine to assisted livery a few years ago (moved area and couldn't get any DIY), weekday mornings are done for me (turn out, muck out, hay etc) so I only have to go up after work. It's DIY weekends.
I hated it to start with but it is going to be a godsend once baby is here. I couldn't manage 3!

I get there about 6.30pm and just chucking tack on and doing 30 mins in the school seems beyond me right now. Horse is ok, semi-retired (nearly 21) so it doesn't matter that she is unfit, but I will have such a battle with her weight in spring now.

She gets all day turnout on a big hill and all her essential needs are being met but I feel so guilty that all she gets from me Mon-Fri is a quick cuddle, feed, feet, rugs and hay water top-up/skip out. I'm only there about 20 mins.
Riding weekend mornings as normal as have more energy then - but feeling pretty pathetic. We lost 18 months recently as she had annular ligament surgery and it was a long recovery so kicking myself for wasting all this riding time.

I am counting down till 12 weeks too - feel better after yesterdays scan as now I really believe I am pregnant. But I won't relax until NIPT results are back and we have the NHS scan as it still seems like ages away (scan in 11 days). I am avoiding everyone like my yard owner as I am sure she will comment on why I am doing sod all riding wise - once she knows it will all make sense!

GemmaJen · 21/02/2019 14:28

@Megan2018 we're lucky that ours are at home, but it does make it easier not to ride as my bed is only a short walk away, and with my nausea that's where I'm spending a lot of my weekends. I'm looking forward to spring and hopefully the end of the first trimester symptoms. I guess it also doesn't help that I love jumping, competitions and eventing, 3 things I can't really do this year. So there's less motivation to get out and do anything. Hopefully you'll feel better soon and can enjoy the nicer weather while riding is still comfortable x

Butternutbee · 21/02/2019 17:31

Hi Ladies,

I’ve just been told about this thread (thanks @megan2018 Smile), hope you don’t mind me joining in.

I’m 10+5 today which is the furthest I’ve ever been after previous MCs. I had an early scan this week at and saw wriggly little baby, it was very overwhelming.

I’ve been signed off work for weeks with bad all day nausea and sickness and I’m on anti-sickness meds from GP. I was hoping the sickness would be getting better by now but it seems to be getting worse instead of better. Is anybody else finding the same? I keep reminding myself that it’s a good sign and I’m trying to stay positive.

@parent19876 I’m 11 weeks on Saturday too, I can’t imagibe how anxious you must feel doing this alone. Sending hugs!
