@twiglet - thanks for your reply. I called maternity unit just to be on the side and apparently it sounds like I've pulled a muscle - nice! X

Babynum2 · 12/01/2019 07:56

Hi ladies hope everyone is coping in their last month/months very well. Im really feeling down we are still here and my anxiety is so bad. I havent seen outside sice Sunday even the windows are painted! Little Harry isnt improving he cant keep his body temp up and needs the heated cot not to mention light therapy because the jaundice isnt going away. Did anyone who breast fed before feel very strange whilst doing it? Its hard to explain but i feel like it brings on my anxiety and i feel very emotional?

Celebelly · 12/01/2019 08:04

@Babynum2 It's actually a recognised condition called DMER - Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex.

That article might help xxx

Since2016 · 12/01/2019 08:20

Oh @babynum2 that sounds very hard. Yes - Bf can make you feel a bit more emotional than normal plus it brings on a rush of hormones on top of the post birth ones. I really hope baby H is on the mend soon. Being stuck in hospital is no fun at all x

Yakadee · 12/01/2019 08:57

@Babynum2 - sending love xx

Yakadee · 12/01/2019 10:18

I'm going for a pregnancy massage soon, really looking forward to it too!

I'm also having a baby shower type thing tonight. Personally, I'm not bothered but my sisters insisted I do something. So, I compromised and I'm having a meal out at a restaurant I Iike. X

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/01/2019 11:47

@Babynum2 Hey :-) Sorry you're having a hard time. I'm still feeling shitty after all the stuff my body's been through, like I've been hit by a truck! My little man is still on oxygen at 18 days old. He's had a bit of a virus this week too. I hate that anytime I want to see him that I have to go over to the hospital. I'm not well enough to stay with him.

Alicejj8x · 12/01/2019 14:03

Just ordered mine
£7 it was unless you have a Lidl near too you which you can collect for free

Due February 2019: here come the babies!
NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/01/2019 18:48

I got one of those boxes a few months back... mainly because it says you can use it as a keepsake box afterwards.

Except you can’t, as they no longer provide the lid, so I can’t use it downstairs as planned either, as my cat will be in it as soon as my backs turned! ☹️

Notquiteagandt · 12/01/2019 19:07

I havent been nervous at all for labour. Been quite logical about it all and seen it as a means to an end etc. Reasearched above and beyond, the good and bad. As I like to be informed.

But I have been forwarned that even though i have an induction date already ,that my scan on monday, they may keep me in and start me off then. Due to IUGR potentially.

So now I am having the biggest panic that in only 2 days I could potentially be in labour. And I am suddenly terrorfied.

I feel frozen woth anixity and dont seem to be able to get any of the million and 1 jobs I still have to do done.

Those of you who have had anixity during pregnancy how did you shake it off?

Rowse · 12/01/2019 21:44

@Notquiteagandt I'd really recommend the positive birth Company, I've got the Digital Pack which has a lot of videos explaining birth and how to make it a positive experience, but there are some great ones of theirs on you tube too.

I'd start with this one about things you can do to stop you being frightened about giving birth m.youtube.com/watch?v=JcL7BgDJfOo

And also the free mp3 of positive birth affirmations that she mentions in the video.

I'm sure you just need a bit of time and reassurance that you can do it as it sounds like you had a really positive and knowledgable experience of thinking about the birth already.

hayley013 · 12/01/2019 21:58

I'm working my way through this digital pack too and I'm glad I bought it, think it's really interesting x

hayley013 · 12/01/2019 21:59

Anyone got a seriously itchy bump? Nothing is helping, tried moisturiser and bio oil, it's just came on over yesterday and today but is driving me mad x

Yakadee · 12/01/2019 23:07

@hayley013 - I haven't had it this time but was terrible with my first. E45 itch relief seemed to help x

Since2016 · 12/01/2019 23:23

Agh I had this last time at the end. As long as it’s not your feet and hands?

Lots of moisturiser! It’s just skin stretching - massage helps!

Notquiteagandt · 12/01/2019 23:32

@Rowse thanks I have been debating that but just havent had the concentration for it. I finally managed to get to a meeting with my local chapter. There was a talk on oxytocin which was interesting. And I have read most the book. So hold them in high esteme. I may download the course in morning and crash it. Thanks for reminding me.

Think its more the reality of an actual baby and reality has kicked in.

Managed to get loads done today so feel little more relaxed now. Ready when baby is 😊

@hayley013 I have cholestatis so itching constantly. I am finding cool plain baths with nothing in really soothing. As well as letting air on my skin. Aloe vera gel is also nice but not ideal for my hands. I suggest filing your nails down so you dont scratch in your sleep. I wake up looking like ive had a cat fight 😂

Yakadee · 13/01/2019 07:49

@hayley013 - have you been using stretch mark oil / cream. I haven't used any this time but did with my first. The one time this pregnancy I did use it, I was itching like mad - had to have another shower to get rid! I decided to just not bother and that if I'm getting them I will (I got loads with my first anyway and don't think I have many more this time). Anyway, I haven't been itchy at all this pregnancy - might just be a coincidence but I know how it can drive you mad x

Babynum2 · 13/01/2019 07:49

Thankyou ladies Its the strangest feeling but im just going to ride through it will be such a shame as baby is feeding so well and i can express about 50ml each boob inbetween in each feed the midwife was amazed!

Im almost sort of envious of the ladies still pregnant i miss my bump but at the same time there is no better feelings than holding your baby in your arms.

AliceRR · 13/01/2019 07:57

@Babynum2 Hope you’re feeling ok. It must be weird to not be pregnant any more. DH was saying that last night, that I might miss being pregnant, but main thing is having our babies in our arms at the end like you say

I told DH I am 37 weeks next Sunday (36 today!!) and I’ll be doing what I can to encourage baby to come along. He said no we need to sort the house out first! I said nope I’ll be eating the spicy food, stimulating my nipples and having sex with you as I want to meet my baby! 😊

Although maybe I should wait til I go on mat leave which is too weeks...

twiglet · 13/01/2019 08:39

Whilst I won't miss being pregnant as I have really not liked it at all I am sure wanting him to stay in until my due date!

One of my apps sent me a count down email which freaked me out slightly.

sickmumma · 13/01/2019 09:28

Sorry to hear how you feel @Babynum2 it must be really hard with him still unwell in
Hospital and feeling rubbish yourself. Just think in a few weeks you will hopefully be home and this will just be a little blip in the time you imagined together.

I still feel like I have so much to do, I haven't even packed a hospital bag yet, I think I am in denial but considering 3 people I know have recently had their babies at 35 weeks and I am nearly 34 I really should get my bum into gear!! Crazy to think baby could
Be here in a month! Need to get daughters birthday out the way first (at the end of the month!) and I think I will start getting more sorted then!

powkin · 13/01/2019 10:24

Had a super long 14 hour day out the house yesterday and being punished.

Went to day one of our paid antenatal class which was 6 hours (another 6 next week) but then across London for dinner and a comedy show. It was 2 hours 10 minutes, no interval and BOILING. I could feel my feet getting bigger and bigger. Then the bloody jubilee line was suspended. Got the worst cramp in the night and actually have stretch marks on my feet from the puffing and depuffing!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 13/01/2019 10:46

@AliceRR I’ve been doing all that as standard, (other half is part Jamaican.. his food kills me 😂) I really don’t think you can shift a baby yourself unless it’s ready to come anyway!
Just don’t try the castor oil method.

Since2016 · 13/01/2019 10:54

Babies don’t come unless they’re ready - sweeps and induction aside. But I did all that with DD I think it’s par for the course!

I’m totally unprepared still, terrified myself reading a thread about babies coming before planned c sections. No thanks - I have lots of plans over the next few weeks and jobs to do!

Since2016 · 13/01/2019 10:56

@sickmumma me too 😂 35 +2 - bag not packed and loads of stuff in the loft. Maybe next week... DH is taking DD out soon and I want a nap...

I did buy nappies yesterday though....
