Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

we'll all be in bungalows soon, heading for an impoverished old age as our broods require endless cash of us...argh i AM turning into my poor mum

lissie · 26/06/2007 14:46

pmsl

Rainbowdays · 26/06/2007 19:35

OK then pregateers - I need to stop remanicing (sp!) about the BC days and start thinking about the help what next stage.... I am so so bloated that I know in a weeks time I will have to be not just in my bigger trousers but biggest trousers and using the old elastic band through the button hole trick. I desperately do not want work to know that I am pg before I leave in August, so how do I go about hiding it... all ideas welcome. !

Also anyone any ideas about how you get three carseats in the back of the car.... do I really have to go buy a new car???

EEEEKKKK, oh for those BC days

lissie · 26/06/2007 19:41

lots of cardigans and make sure they see you eating cake/chocolate. they'll just think youre putting on weight. ikwym tho about expanding waists. im only 4w ffs and my belly is definately a bump!

siennammm · 26/06/2007 21:49

helllloooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
due 2nd March - just found out today, did a first response test x 2 and got 2 lines, one faint though, in about 1 minute!! still in denial and going to the docs to have it confirmed but thought i would say hello...... have 2 children already, josh aged 5 and molly aged 10 months - aghghghghghgh does that mean I will need a double buggy hee hee!!

Rainbowdays · 27/06/2007 07:54

Siennammm - congratulations and welcome, we have been waiting for others to join us, we have been calling ourselves the three muskateers (pregateers!) but I guess you must now be dartanion! Seriously though it is great to have someone else with us. You are very welcome. As for the double buggy - you might not need it, my ds was only 7 months when I got pg the 2nd time, and I managed with my single buggy and a buggy board, so you may be ok as Molly should be walking by the time your new little one arrives. I am on #3 too, and getting nervous about things like carseats!!!!

Morning Lissie, hows the puking going? I will have to get some more cardigans definitely!!!

Morning Berry - hows old age going!!!

merryberry · 27/06/2007 08:18

Congratulations sienammm! So it seems being in this club requires us to have:

plans to move to bungalows
plans to buy mini-buses
plans to wear tents from tomorrow
plans to adapt supermarket trolleys to schlep the youngsters around in...

We love it!

Me and number 1 son are going to walk to London Zoo today. It's quite a way, but the fresh air is the best thing for my morning sickness I find. And he does love the zoo, SO MUCH.

Rainbowdays, do work know you are resigning already or not? Deffo take the I'm porking out due to over-indulgence line. Start talking about how you so wish you sould afford the time to get to the gym, but ih, there just aren't hours in the week? That should head the majority off at the pass, knowing you care about it but are stuck for being able to do owt about it?

merryberry · 27/06/2007 08:21

What stats shall we start up? I've got this suggestion below, what do you think? In alphabetical order, with due date, other kids dates and where we live...anything missing?

Lissie - Due 7th March

Merryberry - Due 1st March
DS 7/7/5, lives London

Rainbowdays - Due 2nd March

Siennammm - Due 2nd March

Chocolatepenny · 27/06/2007 08:25

HI all I was looking for my post natal due March 07 thread when I stumbled upon you lot, makes me actually feel nostalgic about the time I first found I was preggers. Last summer sickness and all!! I know I am mad.
Goodluck and lots of love to you all

siennammm · 27/06/2007 10:18

god, i havent got my head round it yet, just went and bought a digital test and it came up pregnant straight away, so it feels a bit more real and made an appt for the midwife? rainbow, how old are your other children? you got any symptoms yet, congrats to everyone else too and yeah, i can understand getting nostalgic, I sometimes have a nosey at the August thread, just to remind myself how fast it goes!! XX

lissie · 27/06/2007 12:00

puking has calmed down as long as i eat bland food. nausea still there tho, thank god

hi siennamum, glad you have joined us

how are you all today?

siennammm · 27/06/2007 12:11

i am fine, but a little worried as have no symptoms WHATSOEVER and usually at this point am feeling a bit sick or going off tea/coffee etc. Am 4+3, does anyone think this is a bit unusual??

Rainbowdays · 27/06/2007 12:37

Sienna - don't worry about the lack of symptoms, just enjoy it. I am feeling pukey already, but I did early with ds but not with dd, I think every pg is different. My ds is 3 (nearly 4), and dd is 2.5.

Lissie - glad the bland things are working.

Berry - thanks for starting the list

divastrop · 27/06/2007 12:42

DebitheScot · 27/06/2007 16:36

I might be joining your thread but don't know for sure yet. Period was due on Sunday, usually quite regular. Have been up for pee during night the last few nights (never thought anything of that till it was mentioned here), felt a bit rough this morning (but I was also up last night with dioreha so I think I must have eaten something dodgy).

Don't know how I feel about it yet. Have a ds who is 14 months and had been planning on a slightly bigger gap than that would be.

Will let you know the outcome. Haven't mentioned anything to dh yet.

siennammm · 27/06/2007 20:22

well whichever way it goes for you, i hope you get the right result. Will be thinking about you, let us know how you get on. XX

merryberry · 27/06/2007 21:18

Debithescot, get well soon, and tell us if you want adding to the roll of honour below, or just add yourself. Are you going to test soon? Three of my local mates have the same age gap as you would, and they seem to relish it, especially once the baby gets interesting to the older kid.

Thank you everyone else for your kind wishes. Time just goes faster and faster. Except when waiting for payday, of course.

Siennammm, can I have your autograph Will watch you tomorrow night, how amazing.

Any more takers yet? Make yourselves known ! Everyone feel free to copy the list, edit your details and post it back again. Or tell us your details and I'll pop them in now and then.

DebitheScot · 28/06/2007 09:11

Still nothing. Going to get a test on way home from work today. Feel fine apart from a bit nervous. I can't stop thinking about it but at the same time part of me is doing that silly thing where I think that if I don't do a test I don't know what the answer is so I don't have to think about it being real. Does that make any sense at all???
Told dh and he didn't say much, he's ridiculously laid back about everything (except football and rugby). He just kind of shrugged and said "oh well, we'll see, there's not much we can do about it anyway and it'd hardly be the end of the world"

siennammm · 28/06/2007 09:55

hee hee, is your fella related to mine!!! dont worry, you will be FINE and we are here to support you, just take a deep breath and the minutes will fly by. Let us all know, we are thinking of you. X

merryberry · 28/06/2007 14:42

I am in SHOCK, in a good way. GP I saw on Tuesday about having care for my thyroid given I'm now pregnant just called me out of the blue.

No-one in the NHS has EVER done anything proactive for me before. I feel warm and fuzzy.

Of course, she was obliged to having it seems given me quite the wrong advice. Jeez. Instead of waiting another 2 weeks for a re-test of hormone levels and thyroid being GP managed and antenatal care booking taking place in a month or so, I am now having blood test tomorrow morning, referral to antenatal care ASAP and a consultant for my thyroid.

That's more like it. The best info on thyroid care in PG comes from the states, and that is the kind of care all the american women get in my situation. I genuinely thought what she said was the best the NHS usually offered, and it didn't seem outlandishly risky.

So, overall, relieved shock at suprise phone call. A few more months of this level of attention though and I will be p'd off with endless checks and tests, you watch me.

sweetkitty · 28/06/2007 14:46

whoooooohooooooo I can join you all now

waves big hello to fellow ttc graduates

Tested Tues and Weds using cheap Asda tests got v faint line, CBD confirmed it this morning, here's my stats:

me: 31 (32 in august)
DP: 32
DD1 2.11yo (will be 3.8yo when dc3 arrives)
DD2 1.7yo (will be 2.2 yo when dc3 arrives)
lives: Central Scotland
am now a SAHM used to live in London and worked as a Food Microbiologist so I'm the one to ask about all the food/pregnancy questions.

I'm also really miserable when pregnant so you will all get fed up of my moaning, I get bad SPD from week 15 as well (maybe this time will be different)

Who mentioned double buggies?, I spent the whole of last pregnancy obsessing about them, bought a M&P Twin Aria hated it, have a Graco Tandem just now but hate it too, DD1 likes to walk now though gets tired quickly, DP has promised me a P&T Sport this time though. Also drive a Clio so will have to trade it in for one that fits 3 in the back.

merryberry · 28/06/2007 14:49

hello sweetkitty!! welcome, I'll work you into the stats list later tonight.

Ex food micro? Did you work for PHLS/HPA? I did, as an epidemiologist at CDSC, when it was called that...legionella, vCJD and SARS though I was right next to the gut epis and loved hearing about their work.

DebitheScot · 28/06/2007 20:56

Still no sign of period but got a negative pregnancy test so maybe I won't be joining your club. Feel a little bit disappointed but then also the timing wasn't quite right anyway.

siennammm · 28/06/2007 22:14

aw debi, so SORRY hun, but it might be too early, try not to rule it out just yet. Still crossing fingers for you XX
