Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

lol sweetkitty, im the same. tried on my lovely dress again yesterday... no luck, can just do up the waist part but my boobs are HUGE so im out of luck.

how sad am i? tested with a clearblue this morning to make sure and got a bfp i know im pg so why did i waste £10 on another test?!

siennammm · 01/07/2007 08:33

lissie, you DO make me laugh, i did exactly the same a few days ago - its mad isnt it!!! you just want to believe it though!!! sweetkitty, dont think I have ever been a size 8 but can only dream - I guess I never will be now, well at least for another 9 months!!! go between a 10 and a 12 but moreoften these days a 12...... feel so bloated though, everything is getting tight.

So how are you guys feeling today, I felt a bit sicky when I got up but still not gone off the tea and coffee XXXX

lissie · 01/07/2007 08:40

not too bad. ms has clamed down a lot, still a bit queasy but have been eating bland/tasteless food/slop which seems to do the trick. does anyone else have high up backache (below shoulderblades) dont know if its my posture or the fact that i can nearly rival jordan on the nork scale

Lcy · 01/07/2007 10:11

Hi - i have been lurking on the conception thread for a couple of months.

I got a BFP this morning!!! Cant tell anyone in RL because DH is away for day and i want to tell him first. This is only our second month of trying so I am in shock - but really excited. It is 2 days before my period is due so i guess it might not stick?? Also the not pregnant horizontal line was much darker than the pregnant vertical line - does that mean anything?

So I might be joining you!

Also hi to Lissie we had a chat on a thread last month "step away from the clear blue" glad to see you on here x

Rainbowdays · 01/07/2007 11:01

Hi Lcy - congratulations, so exciting. Is this your first? I bet you are looking forward to telling dh.

w4b - I was really disappointed at my first trip to the docs when I first got pg. They did not even bother to do a pg test, they just took my word for it about the test at home and booked me into see the midwife for a booking appt a few weeks later. At the booking appt it was just questions on medical history only and then arranging another appt for about 6weeks or so later, I was so so so disappointed that it was not anything more!

I have had some good days with morning sickness but suddenly today it has hit with vengance, I feel pretty rough today. I just keep telling myself that this is a good sign and not to think about it too much.... arrggg.

sweetkitty · 01/07/2007 11:03

Lcy - sounds like a positive to me, any line faint or otherwise is a positive! Is this your first? Have you worked out your due date yet?

Lissie - you make me laugh with the Clearblue test, I'm very about all of you getting big norks. Mine still look like two marbles in an old sock. I've been pregnant/BFing/pregnant/BFing since November 2003 and only stopped BFing DD2 in February so my poor norks haven't had time to recover.

Am officially 4 weeks pregnant today

Rainbowdays · 01/07/2007 11:03

PREGGO BRAIN ALREADY _ WHOOPS

I forgot to say - lcy re the pg test, the darkness of the lines is not important - congrats and enjoy!

Lissie - I have backache and neckache and generally feeling the whole effects of the loosening of the ligaments already, guess it goes with the territory, I think is it also as I am sleeping heavier and my bed is not the best!

waiting4bambino · 01/07/2007 11:12

Congratulations Lcy! I don't know much about testing before AF is due but a positive is a positive! Just retest in a few days if you feel unsure....

Thanks for all the "pet" responses! Unfortunately, my dog has nervous aggression so i will never fully trust him, although i love him loads.... I guess its just a matter of lots of training and exercise and keeping him away from this future baby! Some people rehome their pets when they "replace" them with real children but i don't think i could do that. We are already the second home he has had - the first one had children. They didnt tell us he had a strange personality though! So I guess its a lot of patience, perseverance and care! I'm hoping that he will get used to it and i think that me being at home a lot more than now (as i work full time) will compensate for him getting less attention. Half the time i am home he likes to sleep anyway!

Anyway, back to the sickness. Woke up feeling okay, had a swig of ginger beer and ate 2 ginger biscuits. Settled back down to read a bit, and then felt queasy. Had to go to toilet v quickly!!! Disgusting question i know, but is anyone pooing more often? It's strange but i worry about pooing in case i strain and it dislodges the baby!!!! It's gonna be a long 9 months! I hope i can chill out and enjoy it soon! Going back to work tomorrow after a week off, it will be really hard not to tell anyone that i am pg - have told my manager as she's also my friend, but not telling anyone else for as long as poss! It will be so hard! Especially if i look green around the gills! I might get some of those travel bands that seem to be recommended by the birth mags, but then, i guess people will guess!

waiting4bambino · 01/07/2007 11:17

Gosh, you were all typing whilst i was! Oh, Rainbowdays that's a shame about the first appointment! I was really looking forward to it too! You'd think they'd make it a little bit exciting and special wouldnt you!! Perhaps they don't bother testing now in order to save money, and then as the next thing you have is a scan, they can then say for definite if the pregnancy is progressing etc, and therefore have saved a few bob.... I'll have to stop watching Portland Babies, it all looks amazing there! The lives of the rich!
Well, in the short time that this has happened to me, i've already been looking up names and thinking of a birth plan!!!!! Went shopping too and had a little wander down the baby aisle, saw breast pads and all wonder of strange things! I was wondering, if you breastfeed and you want to go to the gym, does milk leak out when you are bouncing about on the treadmill? Can you only go swimming so that no-one knows???!!!!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2007 12:25

waiting4bambino - aww bless you, I was thinking about leaking boobs and breast pads this morning I was not looking forward to that again. I think if you worse a good sports bra and some pads you would be fine at the gym. IME leaking is always bad to start with as your body goes a big mad with the milk production. I usually got leaks when my boobs got too full and if I was feeding from one side the other side would leak. Good news is after a few months it generally all calms down a bit so leaks are less frequent.

Lcy · 01/07/2007 12:26

Thanks to all for responses. It is my first!

My friend had a similar response from GP rainbow days so i will not expect much. I think i will beg the nurse to test though just to make it more real - otherwise i will keep testing and bankrupt myself!

Its early days for me - i only tested because i had a migrane on what i think was implantation day. No other symptoms - and i usually have sore boobs, pms a week before my period so felt this month was different.

Not sure when i am due - Middle March?

Have you lot told other people or are you keeping quiet for 3 months - i am rubbish at keeping secrets.

waiting4bambino · 01/07/2007 15:50

I was so excited I told nearly everyone! All my close friends, family and my manager at work. Not telling everyone else at work though unless they work it out for themselves, or I'm past the 12 week stage!!!!! Can anyone answer my poo question? Is anyone pooing more, or is this just my nerves?

sweetkitty · 01/07/2007 19:28

Lcy - I did about 6 tests with the first one still couldn't believe it! I've told a few close friends so far, haven't told any family yet. Have never bothered about the 3 month wait either, I have a theory it won't change a thing if the worst were to happen. Makes for a long pregnancy though. Google Baby Due Date calculator or go to www.babycentre.co.uk and it will work out your due date for you.

W4B - never had the pooing more thing TBH peeing yes pooing no

3madboys · 01/07/2007 19:44
