Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

Hi rainbow, well I am deffo pg. BFP this am, on day period due, unequivocal. That plus waking to pee and have heartburn every night. Maybe the early waking is hormones for you as well?

DS was sick in the night, and his day out to grandparents is cancelled. I won't be doing any of my useful chores I suspect.

Have you just bought a new place then rainbow? When will you move? Take it easy on the paint fumes. We moved recently, and even with all windows open and not being pg, it got a bit much several times.

lissie · 23/06/2007 15:48

Egg · 23/06/2007 16:23

Hello ladies, just checking in on you. Lissie I used the excuse of "got legless last night, feeling really really rough today" a few times, it worked well as didn't look like I had given up the booze!!!

lissie · 24/06/2007 11:40

well, decided to tell dh's family last night. figured that keeping it quiet wasnt going to change anything and id rather they knew if it went wrong. they were lovely about it. really, really pleased for us but a bit wary (understandable tho) how is everyone this morning?

rainbowdays · 24/06/2007 19:44

Morning lissie - or rather good evening!!!!, I am glad that your family were pleased for you, it is good to have the excitement around you. I told my mum yesterday, she is so so excited, she has been wanting me to produce another grandchild for her for ages, although you would have thought that 10 grandchildren would have been enough!

I finally got a slightly darker hpt this morning, I am beggining to let it all sink in now that another baby is on the way.... my brain is taking a while to take it all in LOL! I am starting to feel the tiredness as well, only in the evenings really and I could put that down to the painting etc, but I know it is more than that. The nausea is staying at a low level still too which is good.

Merry - how are you today?

mad4girls · 24/06/2007 21:27

merryberry · 25/06/2007 08:29

Ooh, nice to hear about your excited families. I'll tell my mum on the 7th July when she is here for ds family, and dp will tell his folks next weekend when he'll do the visit we missed due to ds sickness this weekend just gone.

I'm feeling a bit shaky, but nothing like as grim as last time round, in that i don't have to get on 50 minute bus journey to work, get off to vom, get on again, get off again to vom again, stop at end of journey to have another b'fast, taking up to 2.5 hours! That was no fun at all. And I think people just assumed I had the mother of all hangovers! Today we just have to stroll in fresh air to baby gym, do chores on way home, chores when back and hopefully nap at same time as ds after lunch. That nap is turning into my saviour - it dials down the sickness and lets me get through bath time OK. So I should still have the energy to go to my much loved singing group tonight.

But oh i'll miss the copious amounts of wine bit of the singing group.

We got nothing much done thie w/e what with the evil weather and ds being a bit ill. We moved into this new house 3 months ago, but are making very slow progress now. How is the painting going Rainbowdays? Are you doing rainbow colours??

Argh, just remembered I've got to spend time ++ trying to get relevant gp appointment this week to get my tyhroxine meds bumped up to compensate for pg. My heart sinks - it is so hard dealing with this overstretched london gp practice.

merryberry · 25/06/2007 08:30

thank you, mad4girls! a Xmas baby for you?

rainbowdays · 25/06/2007 13:16

Good morning,

Merry - how are you going to explain to the singing group that you are not having the yummy wine tonight!!! I have so much wanted a glass of wine in the evenings recently, in my last pg it was blue cheese that I missed and the previous one it was pate that I missed, so I guess it is just a case of missing what I can't have LOL! My painting is not rainbow colours yet, but I might work on it!!! Yesterday was the kitchen, which was supposed to be "orchid white" but it is distinctly "yellow", but hey, not such a bad colour for the kitchen.

Lissie how was your weekend?

I have to say that I am already so so bloated, my trousers are already all getting tight, I can't believe that it is happening so soon. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me? Perhaps I have eaten too much recently???

merryberry · 25/06/2007 13:43

bloated here too - i'm putting it down to adding more fruit and fibre to diet since getting the bfp plus metabolism change plus complete non-existence of stomach muscles these last couple of years.

still at least this time m&s have some nice maternity clothes. i've got a fair few left from last time, but a few cheap jazzy tops will brighten up the winter.

our whole house is 'jasmin white' - has a slight green tinge to it. we just needed the previous 1980's decor put to rest, but now we find it a bit dull. need some livelier stuff around.

i'm not going to volunteer anything about the wine tonight, may skip off early anyway if tired. if they guess, they guess...

lissie · 25/06/2007 16:15

yup, v bloated. fat jeans are undone with a hairband holding it together. sickness has hit with a vengance now too. on the bus today a girl sat next to me who stank of stale damp cigarette smoke and i had to get off the bus early. still i'd be more worried if i didnt feel like this.

merry, get some funky pics.
must admit ive been looking on ebay for maternity clothes already

merryberry · 25/06/2007 17:22

it's funny the whole taste/smell thing isn't it! I nabbed a bit of ds's croissant this am and I swear I could taste the bleach in the flour.

lissie · 25/06/2007 18:15

lol, but did you still eat it?

goingfor3 · 25/06/2007 18:51

Mum03 I was doing a search on you to see how you are doing, I'm obviously a stalker, and found your happy news. I am so very very happy for you!! Love your name change too!

lissie · 26/06/2007 08:21

how are we doing this morning? still a bit quiet in here isnt it?

merryberry · 26/06/2007 08:53

Yes where is everyone else? Come out, come out where ever you are!

I didn't eat more than the 1st mouthful, it really was rank.

Feel a lot less queasy today, have changed what/how I eat a fair bit which is helping - from 3 quite rich meals to 5-6 smaller lighter ones. Really seems to help.

Nearly blacked out twice at singing last night, but I think that was the pain of reaching for some high notes as opposed to PG! Its a singing for fun group and it really is fun. We did grease and joseph tunes last night, so ds is getting them nonstop this am. We performed 2 weekends ago at a local fete, and I can proudly tell you that the poor boy's formative musical experience seems to be WA-WA-WA-WA-Waterloo....he does a sweet version of it

lissie · 26/06/2007 09:14

pmsl sounds fab!
i spent last night throwing up. never thought id be relieved to get ms tho

Rainbowdays · 26/06/2007 09:18

It feels like we are the three muskateers waiting for Dartanion to appear....

I am feeling quite sleepy again today, despite 8 hours good sleep last night. I am finding the little and often technique for eating is helping keep the morning sickness and hungerpangs at bay.

I did another pg test today and the line definitely came up quicker and a little darker, guess everything is progressing nicely.

Anyone got the "help what have I done" thoughts yet!!!

lissie · 26/06/2007 09:26

im practically inhaling polo mints.

Rainbowdays · 26/06/2007 09:28

Merry - do keep us entertained here with your singing, it will help distract us all from that sicky feeling.

Lissie - sorry but not sorry to hear that you are getting sick! Sounds like things are progressing well for you too.

lissie · 26/06/2007 09:34

tbh daren't test again. taking the vomit and tiredness and the lack of cramps/bleeding as a good sign. have had backache tho.. but on tubeless side

merryberry · 26/06/2007 14:31

Yeah, the 3 Pregnateers, that's us at the mo....

What have I done?

Oh yes: penny just dropped that this time next year will hopefully need to swap the baby room and the study around (study is larger, we both work at home a fair lot).

Which means our planned guest room will have to be in the sitting room. But we scored a lovely sofa bed in the sales at the weekend to go in the sitting room, so that' a good start. ALso because by the 2nd trimester I expect to be snoring, fidgeting and whinging so much dp will need an escape route to sleep some nights Last time round we had a guest bed that he visited a fair amount to stop his work suffering!

I remember the BC (before children) fun of bed shopping - going together, lying on the beds under watchful shop assistants' eyes, giggling furiously, going home for great sex. After Children our bed shopping consisted of two seperate lightning raids in turn on the bus down to tottenham court road, racing back to help out with chores and sick child. I was in there for under 2 minutes - 'show me the Sam sofabed my dp just saw (bounce bounce), show me it closed (sit, fidget), show me the colour choices, OK we'll call you with card later, bye.' Not as much fun.

Sorry to hear about the backache Lissie, but it sounds good IYKWIM, from the other thread.

lissie · 26/06/2007 14:35

pmsl ahh BC days.......
