Due March 2008 - is it real?

Oh my. Have name changed as I feel like a wee bit of a muppet for coming here while a bit uncertain. Will change back when I know one way or t'other for sure.

Was lurking over a cafe buffet this morning with DS, utterly unable to decide what I wanted to have for lunch. Told myself I'd have the chips but that they would probably taste metallic. Remembered how last night all the food in the house was unappealing, except two corn on the cob (?!).

Penny then dropped, though our TTC last month consisted I thought of getting it on magnificently before and after fertile time. Whipped into Boots for a 1st response after figuring I am 3 days pre-AF. Just got a faint but-its-there positive. BBC website says due date is 1st March.

Anyone else yet? I will not tell dp until the line is brighter for point and show effect, so will probably re-test Friday am. I will be keeping my news, if this really is news, virtual apart from twlling him for as long as possible, as I'm older, my thyroid is knackered and my miscarriage and anomaly risks are high.

Other than that, I am having a little smile:

Jackstini · 19/07/2007 16:48

OMG yes - Congratulations!!!
How is little Joey doing? (not so little now I bet!) Scarlett is fine - it is so much fun seeing them grow up isn't it

c4it · 19/07/2007 17:34

Congratulations littleducks. Minnow1 sending positive vibes for tomorrow too. Finally got through to my GPs and seeing mw on Wednesay.

My dad's coming to stay this weekend. Can't decide whether to tell or not. Was going to wait for 10 - 12 weeks, but not so sure now. What do you think?

Keep getting stomach cramps (bit like ppains) anyone else get that?

pipsqueeke · 19/07/2007 17:35

yes he's a GREMLIN i tell you! GREMLIN! lol. ooh so nice is this your second as well (I can't rememebr from the other thread?) the other march one's still going as well

spugs · 19/07/2007 18:13

Minnow - good luck for tommorrow x

C4it - i always get af pains when im pregnant and they drive me batty, you never get used to them. mine seem to last a few weeks and then go - its the baby burrowing into the lining and your womb begining to stretch hard not to worry though i know.

Saw my doc this afternoon, told me to stop stressing as my chance of another mc is the same as everyone elses (1 in 5 apparently) but at least he admitted that this was very easy for him to say i asked for an early scan but he basically said no so looks like ill have to wait till 12 wks like everyone else or go private.

piekin · 19/07/2007 18:30

hi c4it, I got achy gripy period painy tum on n off as well. Does make one feel concerned but lots of web sites say its o.k as long as is no more painful than usual p.pain. Had a good day today after a miserable start - too much realtity having to think about moving etc. Not gona think about any of it any more until 12 wks!!!Must admit I do feel a bit of a minority here tho, lots of peeps r married etc...

piekin · 19/07/2007 18:31

p.s good luck minnow xxx

beckyndanuk · 19/07/2007 18:44

evening all. I love to come home and read all the posts!

Piekin - bad luck about needto move. I did it with DD when I was 8 months. Just make sure you've got lost of help.

Minnow - keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow

Feeling a bit sick and tired but happy about it as it maens I know something is going on. That and the stomach - can't get some of my trousers done up! mind you it is no. 3 - I have no stomach muscles left!!!!!

spugs · 19/07/2007 18:50

piekin - when i had my first dd, i was a student and living in a house with my boyfriend and 6 other people whilst i was pregnant. Then ended up moving into the worlds tinest cottage that was part of student accomidation as we had no where else to go. It all was ok in the end though and it took a while but we eventually found somewhere nicer to live

spugs · 19/07/2007 19:20

looks like were going to get some more new bfps, just been on ttc and they seem to be having a run of bfps

minxymoo · 19/07/2007 19:23

Hi everyone, found out last week i'm pg and due March 14th.

Really scared though, I lost my daughter at 26 weeks March this year. So this is my second pregnancy really, keeping really positive everything will be fine.

DP and I are thrilled but still in massive shock I'm pg so soon - first month trying!! DP very proud of himself!

iliketosleep · 19/07/2007 19:34

that was my thread had a pos this morning then everyone seemed to pile into the room shouting about theirs too hehehe not sure wether im due in march or not yet as i dont know how far along i am but for now hi

spugs · 19/07/2007 19:36

congratulations minxymoo
so sorry to hear about your little one, are the docs taking extra care of you this time? read somewhere that being positive is beneficial for pregnancy , bloody hard sometimes tghough. congratulations again

spugs · 19/07/2007 19:37

congratulations as well iliketosleep, is this your 1st?

iliketosleep · 19/07/2007 19:38

no i have 3 los already

derah · 19/07/2007 19:40

Oh goodie, even more people! It'll be standing room only in here soon!

Hope everything goes OK tomorrow Minnow

Piekin - DH and I had just moved to the UK and were living in a grotty share house in London when I fell pg with DD... she came along a bit earlier than we had planned! DH only got a job 2 weeks before I found out I was pg. But at 12 weeks we moved into a lovely 3 bed in the countryside, and now we own our own house (though it's only 2 bed - not sure where new baby is going to go!). So things can only get better and there's no need to worry if circumstances aren't ideal at the mo. Baby won't mind!!

skidoodle · 19/07/2007 19:48

yay so many people on this thread now, it's so exciting.

congratulations minxymoo and iliketosleep (that could be my name these days )

piekin, don't feel a minority, we're all coming from such different places, and yet going through the same things. that's what makes it fun.

our house is so not appropriate for a baby. or even a more pregnant lady than I am. DH working away but I imagine it will still be a disaster area come March. oh well, babies are only small (says the first timer hopefully)

pipsqueeke · 19/07/2007 20:11

hello all, can sit down and have a proper read now! lol. been on amjor recruiting drive for us today as there's been about 3/4 BFP's on the conception boards yay!

bloomin heck I started off went to sort out DS came back and yet more posts! lol.

beck - any change of twins! althou i'm sure my jeans are tighter - prob my imagionation. tummy's feeling very full thou today so who knows.

pie- I shouldn't worry bout most of us being married ther'es a lot of un,arried as well re the moveing thing a friend of mine moved on her due date - you jsut need lots of support and help. (an no heavy lifting) re moving after we did once DS was 6 months - and i'd NEVER do it again on my own just me and DH - mum helped us this end to unpack etc and watch DS then but it was a nightmare to do alone. also re the maternity pay, there's a cut off date - my payroll's a little rusty having not donw it for so long, but as was when I was in the job, you had to be working for the compnay 26 weeks before you start your maternity leave. if your earnings are over the NICO limit (89 I think at hte mo but again not 100%) then you should qualify for smp which is bascially (or was I know it's being changed to 9 months pay) you get 6 weeks at 90% of your wages then 18 (or whatever they increase it to) at £108 something odd. or continute at 90% which ever is the lower basically you get. if you don't qualify for it your employer should give you a little form to state why they can't pay smp - be it not earning enough/not working there at the relevant period and then you take that to the job centre (irrc) and they sort out maternity pay for you there - which as I remember is about £30 odd. I beleive there's a new ruling that you can have it form 28 weeks as well. don't forget post birth you'll ahve tax credits if entitlewd to them and child benifitsd so it will all help. also depending on your circs you maybe eligable for the £500 sure start maternity grant- again see the job centre about that and they'll give you the forms - I think you ahve to wait until after baby's born to claim unless you're on IS etc. hth anyhow - sorry if the info's a bit out of date - i've been out of the job a good 18 months lol. but jsut start a thread on here and there will deffo be someone to help you

spugs at the no scan bit of a bad thing.

c4it - we've told all our family now were going to wait but after my nan told my aunty (I swore her to secracy) our hand had been forced so to speack as DB didn't know and ifg he'd found out form my cousin then there would have been hell to pay! lol.

jack, little ducks, holqueen, minx and sleep & mumof - HIYA! BIG WELCOME AND CONGRATS TO YOU ALL ON YOUR bfp'S HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD JOUNREY WITH US

DL - HAVE A GOOD TIME AT HE WEDDING.

(oops sorry put caps on and can't be arsed to retype. ) anyhow.

minnow- good luck for tomorrow chick - don't forget to tell us how you go . x

derah/kitty - my intention had been to find work in a nurery wiht DS so it would work out iycwim but no no 2 is on the way like you both the fees for a CM/nursery are far grater will wait till DS is in nursery then have a think again I might go back to work but we'll see.

I started my folic acid 2 days ago - v v slack this time with DS I was taking pregnacare even when DH was in iraq and we weren't trying! lol. hopefully all will be ok thou. anyhow roll on next weds witht he m/w. ahve been invited to a 21st birthday next thurs so will ahve to tell the rest of the girls I guess 2 of them know and I didn't want to tell the others till the 12 week mark but I can't drink and in any case when I do and am pg (as per 1 glass with DS) two mouthfuls later I was sluring my words and needed a cup of tea - such a lightweight! lol.

pipsqueeke · 19/07/2007 20:11

ooh sorry was a bit of a novel! lol.

3madboys · 19/07/2007 20:47

wow lots to catch up on

welcome to all the new ladies

i am another one that isnt married, tho dp and i have been together for ten years, we met and had ds1 whilst we were at uni.

re being paranoid and nipping to the loo all the time, i am doing that too, i think its fairly normal. but i am soo tired and pukey at the moment that i know somethimg must definitely be happening

i am sahm, have been since i left uni when ds1 was 2, we part home ed, so working isnt really an option for me at the moment.

the boys had their last day at school today, so now the summer holiday looms, normally i love it, but i am so dam tired that i am not so enthusiastic at the moment.

re telling people, i have told close friends and people on mumsnet and bmc but not family, i am not expecting a positive reaction from them tbh

Bky · 19/07/2007 20:50

Hi all, would it be ok if I joined you?
I fairly new to posting on mumsnet but have lurked for a while.

I am due around 12th March but not really sure of my dates.

We already have DD who is 10 months, can't quite get my head around having a baby when we already have on, very strange. Not really had any symptoms yet but am looking very bloated and about the same size as I did at about 20 weeks last time around.

Look forward to chatting over the coming months.

pipsqueeke · 19/07/2007 20:52

hiya bky and welcome.

3mb - how does the home ed work? it's something I want to consider - given that we move about a lot, I don't think DH would be very keen thou and at 17 months DS is still v young, but how does it work for you? (if you don't mind me asking )
