OK I know it's VERY early days folks but someone's got to start this thread sometime. Due date between May 4 and May 9. Any other takers?

good morning everyone.

I've lost my voice today so will have to rely totally on mn for my conversations.

Myermay, I know exactly what you mean about the daytime naps - Yesterday myself and ds were on the second step of the stairs on our way for a good hour and a half sleep when the doorbell rang and my neighbour was peeping through the glass! I had been looking forward to her visit for ages, but just wanted to cry. Had to take ds up, and come down for the whole 2 hours while he slept (and its never normally that long) I dont think i'll ever catch up on those two hours.

I sympathise, Northstar. Every single time I try and nap too, someone phones me or a salesman turns up at the door and I try not to swear at them repeatedly. I'm sure they do it on purpose.

myermay, My ds will be 2 yrs 8 months when I'm due and I have been advised against double buggies
by a few people. The side-by-side ones are too wide for doors and are really heavy and the long buggies don't fit in lifts and the baby at the back can't see anything. My friend has just bought a buggy where the baby goes underneath the toddler seat! Very weird. We have decided to buy a buggy board and make ds ride on that.

Oh, and I have serious pregnancy brain too

Mirage · 30/09/2004 14:48

I wasn't going to tempt fate & post here, but here goes.

I am due 4th June (all being well) & DD will be 21 months,so it looks like we'll have to get some sort of double buggy.Don't know how I'll get into shops ect,as I struggle steering a single one.I'll have to do some reasearch.

logic · 30/09/2004 15:06

Hi mirage!

A dilemma girls, do you think that it is reasonable to eat two crunchie snack size bars on the grounds that the baby is bound to scavenge at least one of them...?

Brighteyes · 30/09/2004 15:32

Yeah logic thats more than reasonable, I've just eaten two crunchie ice cream bars (first thing I've fancied for ages)

Failed my driving test by the way, but I'm blaming it on my pg brain and morning sickness.

Congratulations mirage

logic · 30/09/2004 15:41

Brighteyes, are you feeling better then? You've been really unlucky with the ms

Never mind about the driving test, I failed the first time too and that's without throwing up every 2 minutes...

ebbie22 · 30/09/2004 16:09

Oh dont let it put you off driving, you will do it hun xxx

fisil · 30/09/2004 17:24

At least you got as far as the test Brighteyes!

Myermay, we will be getting a doublebuggy. Ds is about the same age as yours and he just won't be up to the daily walk to nursery by 2.4 or a trawl through a shopping centre. He only has tiny legs, bless him. The walk to nursery includes a gap only just wide enough for the single buggy so we'll have to get a tandem one. We'll probably get a buggy board too - especially if I go overdue which seems to bring on a spending spree in us!

Been off work today with period-type pains. Spent most of the day cuddled up in bed with a hot water bottle. Saw GP and he said what you'd expect - no way of telling, just take it easy. I'm sure everything's fine. But bizarrely my thought process is "I hope I don't lose this one cos I don't ever want to go through 1st trimester again as long as I live!"

Hope you feel better soon Fisil! I know exactly how you feel at the 1st trimester bit!

I am definately drawing the line at 2 kids. As it is, I'm cutting it fine - I will be 30 almost exactly 1 year after my due date and for that I will be thin, I swear (and stupendously drunk hopefully).

cab · 30/09/2004 20:36

Congratulations Mirage - go on go and start the due jane thread!
Brighteyes sorry about the test - all the bast drivers pass second time around .
Fisil hope you feel better soon.

Mirage - Congrats, and thanks for sharing your good news -
Fisil - totally agree with the whole first trimester thing, its killing me this time.
Logic - snack size is good, king size is bad, therefore you are good, no matter how many you eat
I couldnt face chocolate at the moment but have made a note of all the times i've gone without and will undoubtedly be catching up during second trimester

Mirage · 01/10/2004 13:42

Thanks everyone-I daren't start a 'due in June' thread as I'm too nervous at the minute.I am 5 wks today & have no m/s (but didn't with dd either],or sore boobs.Just very tired on & off & very emotional.DD threw her lunch on the floor & I nearly burst into tears.

If it wasn't for the tiredness, bad temper & positive pregnancy test,I'd probably not suspect a thing.I'm waiting for an early scan due to a previous ectopic & have a horrible feeling that they'll tell me that there's no baby & I'm imagining it all.

Take care everyone
Mirage

cab · 01/10/2004 13:48

Mirage you're welcome here regardless - will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Almost finished packing for hols tomorrow so look after yourselves everyone!!

Seabird · 01/10/2004 20:38

Huge congratulations Mirage!

I'm with you on the double pushchair research, I'll have a 17mo gap (due April). I'm leaning towards the mothercare 3 wheeler at the mo - tried dd in it yesterday in the shop My mum's obsessed with me getting one that you can have facing you though - she had one with my brother and sister.

Brighteyes · 01/10/2004 20:57

Cab hope you have a good time, wish I was going away.

Was asked in work today if I was pg, apperantly while I have been away they have all been talking about it and all agree that I'm definatly pg. Running to the toilet several times today did nothing to quash the rumour.

Really don't know how they worked it out, think the fact that I have given up drinking and keep running to the toilets have helped them come to the conclusion. Well I'm still denying it for the moment, our parents don't even know yet.

cab · 01/10/2004 22:13

Cheers Brighteyes - desperately trying to get house tidy before I go, but am shattered so keep logging on here with a coffee.
Perhaps the work folk recognise that green look .

Hello girls, I've got a stinking cold and my PC has been playing up all day so I am in a foul mood

Does anyone have some cheery news?

Brighteyes · 03/10/2004 14:34

Hi Logic, sorry your feeling unwell, hope you feeling better soon.

Well my m/s is now pretty constant, I have lost almost half a stone in the last 3 weeks. Finding everything smells awful, not just food but washing powder, deodrants, well almost everything really.

8 weeks pg today so hoping things start calming down in the next 3-4 weeks.

Hows everyone else feeling?

logic · 03/10/2004 16:09

Thanks Brighteyes - your ms is really bad You need to make sure that you don't get dehydrated. Aren't you seeing a doctor soon? Is that about the sickness? I've been finding that plain ryvita is really good for nausea.

fisil · 03/10/2004 16:11

logic brighteyes

I'm holding out for teh 2nd trimester!
