Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

It's totally understandable @TwittleBee.
My pregnancy and birth with DS was awful I have a lot of anxiety around it this time so I can relate - it's hard not to get stuck in your own head.

@Laburna I have been the same last few days but I've a bit of a cold now. Hopefully not the case for you!

@Frazzlerock good luck today 💕

I'm just heading to the gym, can see it far enough as I've had so little sleep and have the cold but I'll feel worse if I don't. Thankfully my PT is brilliant and I'll be able to take it easier this morning than usual.

HchyScott · 10/11/2018 07:28

@Frazzlerock good luck for today, everything crossed for good news later on today!
@pancakes22 in answer to your question re how we feel... I’m pooing my pants! Literally can’t believe it, I’m a hairdresser so you can imagine the struggles I’ve seen ladies go through, I’ve heard EVERYTHING. And the people who cannot get pregnant are the ones you remember. I even someone who had 4 rounds of IVF, tired for 9 years and gave up. After another year she fell naturally. Therefore I’m feeling abit guilty after one period I’m pregnant. Still can’t believe it. I think my slight nausea must be in my head! I suffer so badly monthly, dr thought I might have endometriosis so I thought we would have a struggle on our hands too. I’ve fallen at a time that’s not perfect as I’ve had my hours cut so it will affect my maternity pay BUT I’m spiritual, and I totally believe if it’s meant to be, then I’m very lucky. Waiting for something to go wrong but hoping my little bean stays with me.

Laburna · 10/11/2018 07:29

You might be right about the cold twittlebee and snailorswift DS has been a bit out of sorts and DH has been ill.

I've woken up this morning and the sickness is back with force. Had to eat at half 3 this morning when DS woke me up and I felt so bad. :(

I'm with you guys on the worry front, DS was induced early after his growth had stopped. I'm hoping the same doesn't happen again. I'm worried that they'll take a second one out earlier rather than taking a wait and see approach.

itsallgreek · 10/11/2018 07:32

@Frazzlerock oh good luck today let us know how it goes....

amanda2809 · 10/11/2018 07:57

I'm so nervous. Parents coming up today (they live in Surrey I'm in Yorkshire) I can't wait to tell them!!!

TwinkleDay · 10/11/2018 08:03

@frazzlerock good luck for today hun very exciting!!! X

Delilah7 · 10/11/2018 08:07

@Frazzlerock good luck!! Xx

Frazzlerock · 10/11/2018 08:37

Thanks all. It's not until 3pm but I will let you know as soon as we're done.

I have my 12 week scan through as well. 20th Dec! I'm so relieved it's before Xmas (just!)
Although they said to call them if my dates change after today and they will change it if they need to. I would think I'll only be a couple of days out (if any) so I don't think I'll need to change the date of the scan. They said as long as the scan is between 12 weeks and 13+6 then it's fine.

I hope everyone is well today.

@TwittleBee How are you after your ordeal yesterday?

@Laburna I'm with you on the dried out feeling. I feel like my mouth is constantly bone dry, like I've forgotten how to make saliva.

Laburna · 10/11/2018 08:40

I did wonder if it's related to the progesterone @frazzlerock it seems to have started since I started that, but then maybe it's a coincidence 🤷🏻‍♀️

Beckanne90 · 10/11/2018 08:41

@TwittleBee I hope the cramps have settled down; im also really anxious this time. My last 2 have been perms at 6 weeks early and then 9 weeks. My 34 weeker did brilliant and was home 8 days later and I had a nice normal birth with no problems. But my 31 weeker I suffered big complications in labour and it ended up in a crash section at 8cm. I’m at increased risk of all these issues again but I’m sort of looking forward to seeing the midwife at booking so i know what the plan will be; I know I’ll be under a consultant for high risk as I have been since the birth of DC1. I’m sure they will look after you.

Hope your scan goes ok today @Frazzlerock.

Welcome to the newbies Smile

I’ve woke up with a massive headache and a blocked nose...hello cold. Working from 7.30am until 22.30pm tomorrow aswell; it’s my long shift so not looking forward to that with a stinking cold.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 10/11/2018 08:48

I hope someone here can put my mind at ease.

Cramps. How much is normal? No bleeding/spotting. But have been have cramps on and off for at least a few days.

Beckanne90 · 10/11/2018 08:56

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts they can be quite bad, at least mine have been although I’ve not had any for about3 days now, I was having bad ones that radiated into my lower back. I was having to get baths at any random point. Everyone is different and some people don’t cramp a lot and some people do. If at any point you become concerned give 111 a call for some advice. Hope you are ok Flowers

xine15 · 10/11/2018 09:22

Wow I didn’t realise how early my boobs would start to grow. Have already had to buy a new bra, and they weren’t small to start with! Also sooo sore. No nausea yet but have been craving eggs! And had horrid heartburn. Trying to eat little and more often.

Re Exercise- my doc said not only was it ok for me to start up the couch to 5k (did it at the beginning of the year but then lapses due to the heat) but that it would be a very good thing to do! Can’t say that was the advice I was hoping for but oh well. Will prob do a elongated, baby steps version.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 10/11/2018 09:22

Thank You, that give me some reassurance @Beckanne90. I'll keep an eye on them.

xine15 · 10/11/2018 09:24

@fortheloveofdoughnuts - I had fairly gentle but non stop cramps for close to a week early on. They have subsided now. I think there’s a wide range of ‘normal’ when it comes to cramps.

Laburna · 10/11/2018 09:32

@fortheloveofdoughnuts I had fairly prolonged bouts like others have said, but have found the eased with movement and also going to the loo! I think everything is starting to get squashed.

They've definitely eased now, and I can feel it's much more stretching than actual cramps now, more sore but much more sporadic!

ohmybaby · 10/11/2018 10:14

Welcome @reggiesmama, we’re due date twins! There’s a few others too - the google doc is at the top of the thread Smile

Onestep2 · 10/11/2018 10:15

Morning ladies!!!

Hope everyone is well today!! @frazzlerock good luck, I hope 3pm hurries in for you!

I'm just back from outdoor Bootcamp and it rained for the full hour 🙄 hot shower and high chance of an afternoon nap looks likely!!!

Hope you all have a good non spwey Saturday!!

TheCraicDealer · 10/11/2018 10:36

I'm crampy too, but it's more like that bubbly tummy feeling you get before you do an awful poop.

I think I'll leave going to the doctor until after my next missed period. Don't think they'll do much except give me a date for a scan (presumably?!) and that won't be until well into January.

A very dear colleague's DD found out she was expecting last Friday and then she started bleeding heavily yesterday. We'd have only been a week or two apart so I'm trying be relaxed about everything and just go with the flow.

StargazyDrifter · 10/11/2018 11:01

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I've also been getting pretty noticeable cramps for the last 3-4 days (I'm 5+5) and no bleeding. They are excactly like when something's wrong with your digestion, plus the occasional stabby sharp pain. From what I've seen online, that is all still within the realms of normal.

TheCraicDealer I think the doctor process depends on where you are a bit. Where I live, the GP doesn't need to see newly pregnant people unless there's a specific concern. We are directed to pick up a form at reception and self-refer to one of the of local hospitals' maternity units. Then that unit sends a letter with dates for a midwife 'booking' appointment and a 12 week scan. Then you deal with that unit going forward. I did see my GP though as I also wanted some anti-🤢 tablets.

Feeling more energetic than I have in a little while today, boobies still very sore and my prenatal Pregnacare vitamins are making me feel 🤢. Today was the first time I didn't wake up in a panic, heart pounding, sweating etc. No idea what's been causing that but it's nice to have a break from it all the same.

Hope you all have lovely Saturdays.

TheCraicDealer · 10/11/2018 11:25

Exactly the same here @StargazyDrifter. DTwin is due no. 2 in March and was a bit aggrieved that that the receptionist just handed her a form at our new surgery (we've both moved to the same area within the last year). No idea where I want to even self refer to but I've got a few weeks to do some research by putting it off.

I'm flitting between being all zen and "what will be, will be; still early days, blah blah blah" and googling pram reviews.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 10/11/2018 11:36

Thank you ladies. That's eased my mind a lot x

Twistering · 10/11/2018 11:39

@TwittleBee hope ok today
@Frazzlerock much good vibes your way
@SnailorSwift how was gym? I went to yoga but wimped the boot camp class I do. Back to PT next week but will be taking steady (good excuse as been crap lately at going and think it’s going to hurt!)

Anyone found a nice decaf tea? I am gagging for another but trying to pace it out to this afternoon!

StargazyDrifter · 10/11/2018 11:39

TheCraicDealer 😂 that's me also with the whole 'well let's see' and looking at making baby blankets and cots.

I'd definitely wait until your AF date has passed if that hasn't already. The way I went about looking at hospitals (DC1 for me) was first by distance to home, here:

www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Maternity-service/LocationSearch/1802

And then looked on each hospital's website and also on Which (they have maternity hospital reviews). You can always switch hospitals at a later date, assuming that's where you'd want to give birth. I'm pretty sure I'd want to give birth in hospital and likely to need a CS for a condition I have. So those were key factors in my search, also proximity to home not just for the birth but for follow up appointments after (especially if a CS). I'm in London so ended up going with a big teaching hospital.

Aww the DTwin thing is adorable!

TheCraicDealer · 10/11/2018 11:57

@StargazyDrifter THANK YOU! This is exactly the type of advice I'm looking for. There's two MW led units within fifteen minutes of us, but the closest is only attached to a glorified cottage hospital and I've not heard of anyone giving birth there, so those links are really helpful.

I've missed my first period but thinking about delaying referring until after my second missed period iyswim. Did another test this morning which had a strong positive and DH was like, "fuck, this is actually happening" and dove back under the duvet.
