Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Oh no Frazzle that sounds awful. Definitely speak to your midwife and don't suffer in silence with this Flowers

StargazyDrifter · 12/11/2018 09:15

showjumping that's brilliant news! So glad to hear and what a weight off your mind. You're firmly into the next chapter - enjoy it.

TwittleBee sounds like you handled your MIL very well. Mine is also a bit tricky, but in the opposite direction- she's want to take over. 😬

Frazzle sorry to hear you're struggling. I've also gone through patches of this most days, it's horrible. Definitely worth asking the midwife.

Poor sleep for me too once again - waking up for the loo, waking up with nausea, somehow sleeping on my left side now also gives me pain in my stomach (need to Google). More vivid dreams - basically that I had two babies in quick succession (but different pregnancies), both smallish bumps, easy deliveries of 5 hours each and two perfectly formed boys. I hope this is like the time I dreamt my A-level results, which were right and completely freaked out my mother. 😂

Overall, not feeling ready to face Monday - tired, bloated, brain full of fog, face covered in bumpy spots. ☹️

Hope today is tolerable for everyone!

Laburna · 12/11/2018 09:28

@frazzlerock sorry you're having a tough time right now. Is there something specific that would help? Just wondering if you can think of something that will alleviate the fear/anxiety you are feeling, or whether you aren't sure what to do? (Not that it matters, I'm just curious)

I had GD in my last pregnancy so have to cut out sugar essentially. Cauliflower cheese is a compromise currently, the amount of carbs is small in the sauce, but no pasta :(

HSapr · 12/11/2018 09:33

Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I've been lurking and keeping up to date though!

@Frazzlerock hope you feel better soon, don't wait in asking for help, that's what they are there for x

@StargazyDrifter just reading your thing about sleeping on the left and getting stomach pain, I get that too! Had it before as well which is why I ALWAYS sleep on my right so am trying to refrain myself, I do find the pain subsides after a few minutes but any stomach pain at the moment makes me freak out a bit! Does anybody know why and when sleeping on the right is properly advised??

In other symptom news, I've been doing a fair bit of walking this weekend (nothing strenuous) and started to feel a bit of uncomfortableness around my cervix, which was an interesting symptom it's passed now after a night's sleep but hubby did google it for me and can be normal apparently due to increased blood flow to the area. I do have cervical erosion though and have had it for years. Anyone had experience of this and how it can effect you through pregnancy??

Ooh that's all out of my system now!!!

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 09:38

@Laburna I've no idea what will help, other than a crystal ball to tell me everything will be ok and that baby is and will be absolutely fine. but no one can give me that.
I've booked another scan with the hospital this time for next Tuesday afternoon when I'll be 7+6 weeks. I just have this horrible nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that there will be no heartbeat, just like when we lost our little one at 9 weeks.
I'm also terrified that if we lose this one DP will change his mind again and I'll be back in that awful place that I was stuck in for such a long time. I cannot even begin to tell you how depressed I was and there was nothing I could do but tell myself that life is shit and I have to just get used to it.

Anyway, I'm going to start really crying again and I'm at the office so I'd better stop now

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 09:40

I also meant to say @Laburna that really sucks about pasta/sugar Sad Just think of that mighty lasagne waiting for you when baby arrives!

HchyScott · 12/11/2018 09:47

@Frazzelrock so sorry to hear you’re having a hard time of it at the moment, really hope the next scan can give you some reassurance so you can relax a little bit. Sending big hugs Flowers

Frazzlerock Sorry you have been having a hard time, especially regarding the sleep and nightmares Sad I am with you on the telling people at any time too. Although feel like I should wait till 12 week scan as some people had a look of horror when I told them how early I was when I told them about DS. Yeah and MIL done all the scans for DS! Was strange, did feel a bit intrusive actually, especially as she didnt want us to find out the sex!

StargazyDrifter it does seem MILs live up to their stereotypes ey? No doubt so will we! eek! Sorry you too arent ready for monday! Waking up to pee is so annoying isnt it!

HSapr ah yeah that does kinda make sense about the cervix but maybe bit of a worry considering you have been having cervical erosion! Cant say I have ever felt much in my cervix until towards end of pregnancy.

Laburna so sorry about having to cut out the sugar! Pregnancy is hard enough! Maybe try baking a marrow? We loved getting spaghetti marrows to replace the actual spaghetti for things like bolognese but they make a good "pasta" bake too

BettySwoll0cks · 12/11/2018 11:29

Hello all,
I'm tentatively joining with an EDD for DC2 on 16 July. Like many of you I've bounced across from the 'TTC after miscarriage' forum - 2 mcs in my case - so it's an incredibly nervous time! I haven't made it past 10 weeks yet this time around (DS1 was a breeze! I was so carefree during that pregnancy) so getting to 12 weeks will be an epic milestone. Think I'll phone the midwives this arvo and bite the bullet with a booking-in appt, I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

On the plus side, I have plenty of preg symptoms this time around - one of my mcs I literally had nothing - so I'm delighted to feel like crap!!

cathyj87 · 12/11/2018 11:31

So I've been constipated for almost a fortnight now, still able to go but it's ruddy uncomfortable. This.morning though there was quite a bit of bright red blood in it and when I had a pee just now there was more. Definitely from my bum but should I be worried?

HSapr · 12/11/2018 11:36

Hey @cathyj87 could be something and nothing, like piles for example, but blood in your stool should always be discussed with your doctor x

babyHP · 12/11/2018 12:08

Hi ladies and happy monday!!

Just chatting to my MIL and she mentioned that she believes a transvaginal early scan can be harmful and that I should try to stick with abdominal ultrasound when I have my early scan.

I should be 7 or 8 weeks (its one or the other). Whats your advice? Shall I push the scan back a bit?

Squ1ggle · 12/11/2018 12:10

Sorry everyone is going through all these things. I'm feeling a bit more nauseous and a bit bloated but still no boob pain. Feel like I've just tempted fate by booking theatre tickets for early June but I really want to go Confused

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 12:16

@babyHP I've not heard that before. I've had the vag cam in all of my pregnancies

Laburna · 12/11/2018 12:25

Why does she think it's harmful @babyhp?

Frazzlerock · 12/11/2018 12:32

@Squ1ggle We also booked ticket for near the due date (on my birthday actually - 15th June). We've booked a really big outdoor gig miles away from home. I figured if things go wrong then at the very least I'll have this to look forward to. If things go right, then I will sell the tickets (reluctantly!)

ratherbeshowjumping · 12/11/2018 12:34

@babyHP I've not heard that before either.... I had one yesterday and, speaking to the sonographer, she said there wasn't anything to be worried about.

Would your MIL be the type to be like "new technology must be harmful"?

Squ1ggle · 12/11/2018 12:35

@Frazzlerock that's a good way to look at it

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 12/11/2018 12:35

@babyHP I think the general line is that ultrasound technology is safe but the official guidance is that before 10 weeks or should only really be done for clinical diagnostic purposes because it's still so early and cells are sill doodling everything is still forming etc. Saying that I had an early scan with DD and plan to have one with this pregnancy too at 8 weeks simply because I'm so anxious about everything. The best thing to do is make sure whoever you book with have registered and experienced sonographers who are using the very latest equipment and are registered with the relevant bodies. There are lots of one man band type outfits out there offering very cheap deals try to avoid these if possible and go with either the NHS type practices who offer private scans on the side or the big names such as babybond / ultrasound direct

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 12:41

@squ1ggle I also have tickets to a gig at the end of may and one in June that would be 2 weeks before my due date! im just going to take it as it comes and if i dont feel up to them at the time then sell the tickets but i will be pushing to go as the gig 2 weeks before due date is one id probably never see again.

@frazzlerock @Delilah7 so sorry to hear you are both still having a rough time! hope that you both feel a little better soon

I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow and not sure what to expect, can anyone give me a bit of a heads up?

BettySwoll0cks · 12/11/2018 12:46

@onestep my booking in last time (Jan this year) was lots of form filling and a pee sample. They'll talk you through all the appointments that you'll have and scans etc depending on your medical history.

I have an ultrasound booked on Fri, which is part of the diagnostics I'm having done to work out why I have been miscarrying. It's a pelvic ultrasound to detect abnormalities. I've conceived since the appointment was booked, so should I cancel it, or go anyway and tell them I'm pregnant, and see if they can have a quick look for me Blush? Cheeky I know.....

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 12:58

@BettySwoll0cks - thank you for the info and i love your username, makes me chuckle every time i see it! lol

Im not sure about your appointment on Friday, is there any harm in going? maybe see if they will do a wee sneaky ultrasound to see baby haha

Onestep2 · 12/11/2018 12:58

strikethrough fail there!!!!

BettySwoll0cks · 12/11/2018 13:06

That's what I'm thinking, see if they can see anything! Eek. I'll only be 5+4 though so prob not much too see.
