Thank you @Treaclepie19 :)

ashley992 · 26/10/2018 19:54

Is everyone still taking folic acid? Reading through my maternity notes today and it says you can stop at 12 weeks. I am 16+5 and still taking it. I had my 16 week midwife appointment earlier but stupidly forgot to ask! It was lovely to hear babies heart beat and hear them moving around - it was beating at 160ishbpm and sounded like it was going to burst at any moment it was so fast!

Rosalind22 · 26/10/2018 19:54

Hi all :)

Can I join?

I am due April 25th!

I actually only found out I was pregnant just over 2 weeks ago! I have extremely irregular cycles (due to PCOS). We were waiting for a call from the fertility clinic to start the next round of clomid when they advised we do a pregnancy test before inducing a period (as I was on day 87 odd of my cycle but that wasn't unusual for me!). We hadn't taken a test previously because my 21 day blood test had indicated that I hadn't ovulated (turns out I ovulated later than day 14 so it hadn't shown up!) we took a test and when it said pregnant we didn't believe it! In one day we had a positive pregnancy test and then after being told we must be 3 months pregnant we were taken straight for an ultrasound and there was our baby! So we went from hopeless and waiting for the next round to finding out we were 3 months pregnant and seeing our baby on the screen!

Since then I have had my dating scan (which gave me the due date of April 25th) and baby was still dancing around happy as anything and today I am 14+1.

I still can't quite believe my luck and it all still feels too good to be true! Now I feel like all I do is worry that they are still okay in there! Roll on the 16 week midwives appointment where I get to hear babies heartbeat! So hard not to worry and fear the worst!

I still

@shamofamockery you have to use the Mumsnet website to message @organised5 as she set it up (you can't message on the app) I have messaged her but I don't know if she still comes on here much...

Treaclepie19 · 26/10/2018 19:58

I took them the whole way through last time and will again I think @ashley992

Welcome @Rosalind22 :)

@Treaclepie19 thank you! I've got to the end of my pot so wasn't going to get more if most people stopped at 12 weeks.

39Suzy · 26/10/2018 20:09

Congratulations @rosalind22

Griffer · 26/10/2018 20:47

I asked my midwife at my 16 week appointment. She said if you can continue taking all vits including folic, do so throughout pregnancy as they don't really know and it won't do any harm

Congrats @rosalind22! I have PCOS as well so can completely empathise (except for the finding out when you were already 3 months part). We conceived on my third round of Clomid though my blood test that month also suggested I hadn't ovulated as it was later than day 14.

Exactly 16 weeks today and had my midwife appointment and heard a heartbeat which was pretty special!

RosiePosies · 26/10/2018 21:07

@migmog I've had my flu jab and there was a huge red patch around it until the fourth day after. Just as I was starting to get worried, it went down. Has anyone had their whooping cough jab yet as I'm now past 16 weeks and have been advised to book one?

MigMog · 27/10/2018 08:56

@clared55 oh that's good to know. I won't get myself too worried about it yet.

39Suzy · 27/10/2018 09:29

@clared my hospital do whooping cough with the 20 week scan

I have had that reaction previously to the flu jab but last year, it was much worse (rash from head to torso and arms swelled up). Had to go to docs as i was burning and he advised an allergic reaction so.not to have it again. Definitely keep an eye on it x

Dani7 · 27/10/2018 09:54

I had my flu jab this week but no reaction at all which made a nice change for me!
