Beyonceen - You officially had the 'crappiest week'...hope all gets back to normal soon.

Well, I had an interesting night. After my week of puke and 'you know what' last week it seems my dog has come out in sympathy and had THE worst tummy possible! Poor little guy was in a real mess....so been up to my elbows in 'crap' yet again...can you see a pattern forming here?

Hope all are well this morning and enjoying yet another day of bad weather! grrrr...

Cakehead - Congratulations on the arrival of Georgie. How did you find the c-section? How long were you in hosp etc?

Hi everyone,
have been lurking about here for a while and meaning to post for ages.
Am 37+ 6, planning a hb with my first baby and very excited! been great reading all your posts and just knowing other people are going through similar stuff! Will hopefully be around for at least another few weeks!

twoplusone · 30/06/2007 11:57

Hi Dumbledorf..and welcome
You have the same due date as me then the 15th July, is this your first.. It is my third.

Having a complete cleaning frenzy today, got the urge and energy again.. that long nap yesterday and a goodnights sleep last night has done me the world of good. Will probably end up knackering myself out, and whinging that my back is hurting to dh tonight
But whilst I have this urge..better get on with it.. (and dh can keep ds out of my hair..)

Hope everyone is ok.xx

twoplusone · 30/06/2007 11:57

JAM - Sorry to hear about your pointless argument (arn't they all!) and your stress with the nappies. DS will make the transition when ready...Try not to stress out too much.

Is anyone else getting really pi**ed off with this weather?! I just feel like I should be able to potter around my garden now I'm on maternity leave and have started to take it personally that I have not seen any sunshine. I keep looking at BBC weather and swearing! DH sensibly told me to calm down and stop looking but just seeing the 5 day forecast of rain, rain and more rain is really getting to me..

Okay rant over, I know I am just acting like a spoilt brat and should think myself lucky that I still have a dry house, unlike all the poor people that have been affected by the floods.

Miaou · 30/06/2007 20:49

Hello all - I did a car boot sale today with dd1 - we didn't make a lot (#25 - what's happened to my pound sign?!?!?) - but we had fantastic weather and dd1 really enjoyed herself (it was her "project" ). I am pooped now though!

The dds have finished at school now and dh is just going through all the leaflets with them to sort out activities. We have booked them on an activity week next week but after that there's lots of different things to do. Unfortunately I'm the only driver (dh lost his licence - gets it back about three weeks after db is born!!) so that means I don't have a get-out clause - either that or no-one gets to go anywhere! Fingers crossed that my energy levels remain as high as they have been. The dds are primed though that once the baby is born they won't be able to do much/anything until dh gets his licence back (just a few days before they go back to school - )

bilblio · 01/07/2007 00:12

Congratulations Cakehead and welcome to Georgie.

Welcome to the thread Dumbledorf, stop lurking, we're nice, honest

Myfairone - yep I'm also really cheesed off with the weather. I'd pictured myself spending the first weeks of maternity leave sitting in the garden getting a tan, knitting and learning how to spin. Instead I've been sat inside feeling miserable and looking at the pictures of flooded Sheffield online.
My parents live over there, thankfully they're not flooded although their village was hit pretty badly and they had no power for 2 days.

Sorry, I'm not going to attempt to respond to anyone else, I'm too tired. I've had a rotten couple of days, the acid reflux has meant I've only had about 4 hours broken sleep for the past few nights. I can't even sleep sitting up.
Anyone any idea how long it'll be after the baby arrives before my digestion gets back to normal?
Sorry to whinge, I know I've had it so easy so far but I'm tired and grumpy, it's raining and I'm miserable. [why isn't there a grumpy smiley?]

My one bright point of the day was getting my trial order of re-usable nappies. (Would have been even better had the postman not knocked about 15 minutes after I'd finally fallen asleep.) They're so soft! I've also realised I'll be able to save some money by making my own boosters and liners from material I already have. I'm not going to attempt to make the nappies though.

Myfairone · 01/07/2007 08:06

Princess, did you sit up to report that to us or were you out on the tiles!?

Bilblio - Sorry you've had a miserable few days. The weather really doesn't help at all does it? I too had visions of me in the garden getting a nice golden glow but alas I'm just knee deep in damp washing!

Miaou - Excellent news that someone is having good weather and well done for having the energy to do a boot sale! Congrats!
Sorry to hear about your DH license issue. I am sure the others will understand that Mummy is busy and can't drive everyone around.

Well as Princess said, it is now officially July! wooohoooo! We should (and I say should) all be in possession of our little ones by month end (except for the likes of Firststar, myself and a few others who are due towards the end!)

Have a great day everyone!

daisyboo · 01/07/2007 08:13

Just crashing in from the June postnatal thread to wish you all the best for the coming few weeks. Looking forward to some juicy live birth threads and bouncing birth announcements

Take Care and enjoy your last few days and weeks of your pregnancies.

Can I please just moan for a minute? Thank you...

For some reason I suddenly feel sooooo angry (Talk about mood swings), I feel like everything is conspiring against me! I woke up fine but a whole catalogue of things have so far gone wrong and I feel like screaming!

1)I changed our bed and the spare bed yesterday (have nowhere to put all the wet sheets of course because its raining!)
This morning after a muddy run around the garden the dog has just jumped onto the spare bed....had to change it again!

2)DH spilt tea on the quilt in our room...have had to change that bed again too!

  1. I have just hung out one set of sheets (sun was out) and after 2 minutes I notice that its pouring so hard that the sheets are now soaked!

4)Dog has now positioned himself onto my new nursing pillow and guess what....it has mud on it that I didnt manage to get off of his feet when I wiped them!

DH has gone out and left a pile of clothes in the middle of the kitchen floor along with 2 pairs of trainers.....I specifically asked him yesterday for more help around the house....seems I need to get his ears checked.

Permission to lose it please?

MelissaM · 01/07/2007 10:08

twoplusone, I hope the experts decide they don't need your ds to go through the testing again. Sounds like he is ok anyway.

Cakehead - Congratulations! And welcome to Georgie.

Divaskychick, thanks for the advice re avoiding induction. I was told something along the same lines by mw this week (although not in as much detail).

Beyonceen, sorry you've had a bad week. Hope things improve.

Myfairone, sorry you're having hassles too with you mum, but glad I'm not the only one iykwim! You hereby have permission to lose it! What a horrid morning you're having! Hope it improves.

Hi Dumbledorf and welcome. Good luck with the HB!

JAM sorry you haven't had a good weekend so far.

marchbunny · 01/07/2007 11:11

Yeah - It's July!! Hope everyone is feeling up for 'giving birth'

Can not really believe it is July, good luck and lots of lovely birthy thoughts to you all. I am really looking forward to hearing everyone's news.

Well Done to everyone who have already had their LO's hope you are getting on ok.
xxxx

Princesspowersparkle · 01/07/2007 12:07

Myfairone- grrrr- men can be so insensitive and oblivious sometimes. If I were you I wouldn't do anything and leave it like he left it. In fact- don't do anything today and just chill and rest. That'll get him thinking (especially when his dinner isn't ready!).
I wish I had the energy to go out on the tiles but alas no- its the delights of being exhausted so go to bed and then am wide awake so end up getting up again! Made up for it by eventually having a nice long lay in this morning!

Annoyed as I have finally had to take my wedding and engagement ring off. Fingers not really swollen its just they felt uncomfy. AND, after avoiding them for 37 weeks- I've found a stretchmark!! NOOOOOOOO!!! I was so pleased with my nice unstretchmarked tummy! Its only little so I'm praying baby doesn't keep sticking its bum out to make it even bigger- or worse, multiply!!!

Hope everyone is well- look forward to hearing some birth stories in the not so distant future!

Myfairone · 01/07/2007 12:18

Princess - I have now decided to leave the washing out on the line no matter what the weather! And as for the house, I am taking your advice and downing tools!

Glad you had a lay in! You have to get your sleep when you can these days.

Its funny you mention your rings because I too have been considering taking mine off. Its not that my hands are swollen but I'm worried that I won't be able to get them off when the time comes.

Hope all feel well and are enjoying whatever you are doing today.

typhoonsmum · 01/07/2007 12:52

All sympathies to people trying to wash clothes

I have two washing baskets full of washing and three days off work. The plan was to attack them all in my very long weekend beofre my final two days in work (HURRAH)
DD and DSD hung a load on the line on Friday and I filled the machine an hour later it was raining so there it has stayed. Everytime I try to get on with it it rains.
Will have to give in an put the maiden up in the front room or I'll never get it all done. Will not waste energy and use Tumbledryer.
IT'S JULY FFS. IT IS MEANT TO BE SUNNY AND WARM AND PERFECT WASHING WEATHER.
(sorry about the language)

Right off to Tesco to get some fresh pineapple and other labour inducing goodies.

July and its pouring with rain in Scotland (surprise surprise). Had hoped to wash all the cot bedding through but it remains in its packet for now.

I see that kittenbaby has posted on childbirth thread - she has had a baby girl (sounds like she had a rough time of it). Hopefully will come and post here when she feels up to it.

DH had a 'nightmare' the other night when he dreamt that I woke him up in labour and he promptly had to deliver the baby in our bed - he has looked agitated and worried ever since! Told him that the first part was very likely to happen but hopefully not the second part!

He seems to get a bit panicked whenever I have a BH - hope he settles down.
