MelissaM · 29/06/2007 12:46

Bubble, glad you are ok and that you did get checked out. Best to make sure.

MelissaM · 29/06/2007 12:53

cornishpixie, good luck for the scan on Monday. Here's hoping the head is fully engaged!

Caroline1852 · 29/06/2007 13:16

Firststar I am getting impatient too now (guess I am starting to get bored being sat at home every day).

I think mainly I am getting fed up with the calls from my mum (or today she instructed dad to call as she is in meetings ). "Any news?" Does she not think that either DH or I will call her when there is anything to tell her? She's also annoying me because she thinks she is coming here as soon as I get the first twinges! Well I've already had those! Just because we were all born by C-section, doesn't mean that a natural birth will be over as quickly! She even phoned me the other night to tell me I couldn't go into labour as she was going out for dinner and was having a drink so wouldn't be able to drive down until the morning. The fact that the M1 was closed for miles wasn't going to deter her! (They are in Leeds and we're in Winchester). I don't want her here while I am having LO particularly with plan to have him/her at home, and after her recent comments about dh, she's lucky I will let her in the house at all!

Right - Rant over - sorry for that but feel a bit better now.

twoplusone · 29/06/2007 14:01

melissa- No you cant keep a three yr old still, they couldnt so the test, as ds was too busy shaking his head to get the microphone out of his ear, then too busy taking to the Dr, DH andm yself.. I had to really contain myself so that I didnt laugh.

Lo didnt like it in the car, was opushing down like a good one.. the speed bumpsa were awful too. Really pissed of that dh has had to go back into work for 2 hrs.. really need a kip..

Firstar and melissa- I am impatient too now.. it is all I can think about now and it is realy starting to annoy me that I cant think of anything else..

Caroline- Glad the c-section is booked now.. 2 weeks on monday and you will have your lo.
Jam- glad you are getting your c-section.

Huskygirl- Glad you got your iron tablets..

Hope everyone else is ok.

xx

JAM sorry to hear about your dad's blood results. Hope things will be ok. I was going to ask if you had thought about renting if things don't work out with the house, although I was only thinking short-term (ish)!

twoplusone, lol at ds in test. Not great that you will probably have to go through it all again though. I know what you mean about speed bumps!

twoplusone · 29/06/2007 14:16

jam- hjope you get the mortgage sorted soon.. SOrry to hear about your dads dodgy results..
You are right though it never rains but pours....lol

melissa, this was ds third attempt at this test.. (on first attempt we managed to get right ear done.. ) but we have never been able to get the left ear done.. The specialist is going to phone our doc and if she still wants him to have it done, he will have to be sedated for it. TBH I dont think there is a problem anymore.. not bby the amount he is talking now and picking up on things all the time.. But will see what the professionals have to say.

Hi Ladies, some news here...

I was feeling crampy all weekend and woke up on Monday to find I'd started bleeding a bit. Called the hospital and they said to come in. Had to wait for DH to get home from nights but he whipped back pretty quickly. They said it wasn't anything to worry about but that as I hadn't eaten or drunk anything since the night before that they'd bring my section forward and get it underway in the next half hour.

So... Georgiana - Georgie for short - was born on Monday 25th at 11.35am, weighing 7lbs 11oz. She's a peach, and her big sister is quite taken with her too.

As she was breech, there was quite a bit of pushing and shoving during the section, which I hadn't expected, but it was all over very quickly. Now we're at home and actually all four of us managed to get to sleep at the same time this afternoon. Bliss! Good luck to the rest of you...

Princesspowersparkle · 29/06/2007 18:51

Cakehead- CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Gerogie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear everything was OK and you are now home.
xxxx

Princesspowersparkle · 29/06/2007 18:51

I mean Georgie- sorry for the typo! X

DivaSkyChick · 29/06/2007 19:14

Hi ladies,

Haven't been posting bc it's all I can do to keep up with all you're going through! Individual responses are just beyond me at this point...

I did want to share something I found out yesterday, as it seems important, especially for anyone wanting to avoid chemical induction.

If your waters break, according to the guidelines, you have up to 96 to go into labor on your own. Most women will go into labor within 24 but some do not.

Hospitals will tell you that they want to induce you after 24 hours, due to risk of infection. Here's the thing. If they give you an internal to see where you're at, they have effectively moved the bacteria from the front of your vag to the back. Now, according to the guidelines, you need to go into labor within 24 hours or should be induced.

Does that make sense?

So if you're keen on avoiding induction, and your waters break but you do not go into labor, the advice I got was as long as the waters are clear, stay home. Do not let anyone give you an internal.

Tis what I heard in my NCT antenatal class.

Beyonceen · 29/06/2007 19:50

Hi all. Congratulations cakehead.!!! That's wonderful and a lovely name.
twoplusone - what next? comes to mind. How awful. and if I know DefenceHE, not very fast at getting the repair job done.
Can i moan for a mo? My dd came out of plaster after 3 months on Thursday last week(hip problems) and we were finally feeling like things could start getting better - despite the symphasis pubis and placenta praevia that I have, when my ds falls off the sofa on Thursday afternoon and breaks his arm! He is now in plaster only one week after dd got hers off!!! I don't think i can take any more crap. Oh and dh was on his way home from a week in Germany (thank god) and had to meet us in casualty!!
Can anyone top that or did I just have the shittiest week? Cannot believe that the excitement didn't send me into labour!
Love to all and your aches and pains. Sounds like you may be next bubble!
Are we all taking our rasp leaf tea???

Bodkin · 29/06/2007 19:52

Congratulations Cakehead! Little Georgie sounds gorgeous. Hope your c/s recovery is speedy!

Thanks for the advice Divaskychic - will bear that in mind if waters go early

Myfairone · 29/06/2007 19:54

Oh my what a lot has been said today!

Firstly, Cakehead, congratulations on the birth of Georgie (lovely name!) So glad to hear that all went well.

Diva - thanks for the tip!

JAM - I hope that your Dad is okay. Fingers crossed and thinking of you. Good news on the C-Sect though!

Caroline - Excellent that you have a date! Congrats.

Melissa - Are you sure we are not sisters and have the same Mother?
Mine called me and asked if it was okay if she went out today and didn't come over..I told her I am perfectly capable of coping on my own. She then gets my Dad to call to ask if my back hurts, if I have any twinges etc....I have 4 weeks till due date and really don't think I can take this for 4 weeks!

Firststar - I too just feel so impatient right now. The thought of going 4 weeks till due date and then 2 extra (possibly) just seems like a lifetime away. That said we have come 36 weeks so whats a few more?!

My midwife said that the head was 'almost there' and that it had 1/5 to go!!!! She also asked if I had packed my bag...made me feel very excited!!!!!

Big hugs to all.

twoplusone · 29/06/2007 20:14

Cakehead- huge congratulations on the birth of georgie

beyonceen- what a week you have had bless you.... Dont you find that everything happens whilst they are away... For me things normally happen the day he goes away..

DH came home at 4pm to day and I went straight back to bed until 8!!!! Think could have gone through, but hunger and thirst taking over... I did say I needed a kip...lol..

Take care all and enjoy your evenings..

Anynews abgirl...

Miaou · 29/06/2007 20:41

Congratulations cakehead!! Glad all went well and you are enjoying Georgie

abgirl · 29/06/2007 20:51

2+1 no news as yet, but had my last appointment with the midwife today so that was quite exciting (in a way!) - have had 19 ante-natal checks.

cakehead, congrats on the birth of georgie - love the name! Will amend the stats for next week...

Cyee · 29/06/2007 20:51

Congrats Cakehead and welcome Georgie! Great news and glad all's well.

Sorry you've had such a crapacious week Beyonceen.

Sorry also to hear about your Dad's results JAM.

Take care all - have a good weekend.

Princesspowersparkle · 29/06/2007 22:06

Diva- I heard this too on a baby programme tonight! Good advice if you don't want to be induced.

Hope everyone is well this evening.x
